  • It will change your life!

"I had spent quite a while researching places to stay in El Salvador after getting a good review from a friend. After an exhausting search, I had noticed this BB at Dulce Villa and reached out to book a getaway for myself and my fiance. Upon inquiry, I was surprised at how fast the response from D'Arcy took! Right away she made the planning and booking with comfort and ease. Upon arrival, we were greeted by both Shawn and D'Arcy at the airport and knew right away that we were going to be in good hands. They then took us back to the location and when we walked through the front doors, were immediately amazed and taken back by the breathtaking views and beauty of the property. We felt right at home in paradise as we quickly put on the bathing suits and got into the amazing infinity pool that looks over the ocean with the waves crashing below. It's a sight that really is hard to put into words! D'Arcy and Shawn couldn't have been better hosts as they were always at your beckoning call with whatever was in need. Whether it be a refreshing cold beverage of any sort or a light snack in between the delicious meals compliments of the amazing chef Shawn. We had first envisioned ourselves going out to all the many excursions that they offer as a way to see and experience the country, however, we found that we already had what we needed and more right where we were. We had the luxury of having massages on a lower patio that is just feet above the ocean perched on a cliff with the splashing of the waves just below you. The private/guarded community offers many sights but also beholds the many friends that they have come to know over the years who were truly remarkable to both meet know. Despite the many attractions and views, we believe that the best experience we had was the interaction and friendship that we developed with both Shawn and D'Arcy. They have mastered something very special to share with those who are willing. The many conversations and passionate care that they take of you will leave us forever changed and know that these two will be a special part of our lives for a very long time. It was difficult leaving as it almost felt as though we had found another home, but know that we will be back very soon and who knows, may never leave.... Thank you D'Arcy and Shawn!! We already miss you both!"

  • Excellent location, incredible paradisiacal feeling!

"We stayed at Potopoto for three unforgettable weeks, we came at the end of June when the weather can be rainy or cloudy, instead we got super clear blue skies during the day and fresh rainy nights. The renting transaction was very pleasant communication with the owner was fast and clear throughout. In the house you can immediately notice that the owners have paid attention to detail on the services and utilities it offers. The pool was well maintained and recently cleaned. The grass, palms and gardens were all very good taken care of. What is important to notice is that the rooms were cleaned every morning, and changed sheets every 3 days, each room has its own bathroom which makes a huge difference to other houses in the Costa del Sol. The setup of the house has a bit of a camping ground (ranch) feeling, where you feel the beach and the palms the whole day. The kitchen and eating place sits next to the pool, and the beach literally 50mts. from the pool, this for us was the greatest plus of the house. We will definitely come back, I hugely recommend PotoPoto!"

  • Love it and can't wait to come back!

"I am in my early 40's and well travelled (25+ countries). I am accustom to the quality and cleanliness you find in a 4 or 5 star hotel. My partner and I were very pleased to find The Romantic Casita met our expectations; and the property (grounds, pool, location, view, beach access) easily exceeded our expectations. The casita is a unit attached to the side of a larger home which is also rented out, therefore you will be sharing the grounds and pool with other guests. We expected this and had no issues/concerns/problems etc. Inside the unit we did not hear any noise/sounds from the guests in the larger house. Pros: -comfort/cleanliness -great bed -fantastic view, location, pool, and beach....absolutely stunning -gated community with armed guards -we ordered food (pupusas) from a vendor who came by on his bike - it was a fantastic, inexpensive and a unique service....and delicious -the food at the restaurants at the neighbouring beach (El Parmacito- ask the owners/property manager for directions) was fantastic and inexpensive eg. Breakfast (omelette) and coffee for two was $7 total. These restaurants are huts on the beach, however the food is fresh and restaurant quality. I had a lobster dinner which came with two small lobsters covered in prawns (20 +) with rice, salad, tortilla for $15. -unit has a combination safe -D'Arcy (owner) is excellent at responding quickly to any questions or concerns -Roxanne (ppty mgr) comes by each morning to attend to needs Things to keep in mind: -WIFI signal did not work for us until the last day (on the last day the ppty mgr advised us it works if you place the wifi stick by the window....only then did it work for us). -stairs - there are not a lot of stairs however people with disabilities will find the stairs and pathway to the pool challenging -in a residential area therefore not within walking distance to markets, shops -stop at the market on your way in to pick up groceries (don't forget oil, herbs, charcoal (for the BBQ) etc. -include hand soap, hair dryer, shampoo with the rest of your toiletries -AC is only in the bedroom -ants- this is a tropical destination so you have to expect to have ants, geckos etc. it is part and parcel! (Note: these ants did not bite). However, I recommend more effort be made into controlling them -traps etc. and be prepared to put all food items etc away regularly. This property was stunning and I can not wait to return to it. Highly recommended!"

  • Picture Perfect

"Two friends and I just returned from staying at Casa Bendicion for a week and absolutely loved it. Mike and his family are great hosts and can set you up with whatever you need...a ride to and from the airport, a cook, trips to the market, a massage, and local knowledge of places to eat and surf. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. The waves were fun and the locals were all very friendly. We enjoyed making the short walk from the house to the town of El Zonte to eat, shop, surf, etc. We never felt unsafe at all. In fact, it was quite the opposite. We found the locals to be incredibly friendly and helpful. I sustained a small cut on my head while surfing (out of my own carelessness) and when I walked up the beach w/ a bleeding head a small army of locals sprang into action getting me a wet towel, bandages, ice and making sure I made it to the house safely. I was so impressed. I highly recommend Mike's place for anyone looking to get away and just relax. The pool is perfect for cooling off and having AC in each of the rooms made it so comfortable for sleeping. Back in the cold waters of California I am missing this place more than ever and can't wait to get back. We'll be seeing you soon, Caballo. Thanks again for an awesome trip."
