"Our family definitely enjoyed our time at this beach vacation rental. It’s spacious, has a great balcony and I loved the outdoor seating area and pool, where we spent most of our time relaxing. It’s very isolated and the views are simply amazing. The caretakers are very helpful, and if you are looking for a place away from it all, peaceful and private, this is it. In order to get to this house, you must take a dirt road for a good 20 minutes, so like other reviewers have recommended, stop by and get all your supplies first. If you get lost, just ask how to get to la playa La Flor. I wouldn’t recommend this place for people looking to go in and out because it can be a hassle but rather for those who really plan on staying and enjoying the house and location. There is plenty of space to lounge and relax. The house has a beach entrance but the beach isn’t really for swimming as there are many rocks. You will see beautiful sunsets every night! For those that depend on TV, please note that only the main bedroom has TV. I wasn’t there to watch TV, so I didn’t mind, but I know others in my family had a problem with it but hey we are on vacation! So if you have kids, perhaps take some DVDs, etc. I would definitely stay here again in my next visit to El Salvador. The only concern I had was, that communication with the owner as noted by other reviews is not great. When we arrived at the house, the caretakers were not aware that we were arriving, so therefore they hadn’t given a final sweep of the house which is a must in this weather because of the bugs, etc. They were however very accommodating and let us right in while they contacted the owner. When you’re paying for a house at this price, having everything ready is expected. Thank you to the caretakers for assisting us with our many requests and for sharing such a beautiful property!"

  • Beautiful House, Great Experience, and Excellent Service.

"My fiance and I were excited to spend quality time here at this house. We were not disappointed. Upon arriving the house exceeded the pictured displayed on this site. The grounds are very beautiful and the beach view is amazing. We were immediately greeted by Sergio (the grounds keeper) who was so nice, friendly, and helpful. He politely showed us around the house and explained all the house rules to us, which were all self explanatory and expected. Sergio also gave us helpful tips and recommended places to visit, places to avoid, and pointed us toward the right places to eat. The swimming pool was a place of comfort every day, as expected El Salvador is hot and humid and a day or night in the pool always hit the spot. Sergio, also adjusted the jets in the pool when we were in, but he was very cognizant about being private. The rooms were comfortable, but they could use upgrading. Sergio also made it a priority to secure the residence at all times screening and visitors before they were allowed inside. The most memorable experience about the house was "Fookie", the guard dog. We instantly fell in love with the dog, and if possible would have adopted the dog. Fookie would sleep at our porch and guard the residence and porch area. No strangers were allowed to get close to the premises without Fookie barking alerting us someone was close. A couple of scraps and dog food is greatly appreciated by Fookie, needless to say he ate like a king while we were there. Lastly, Sergio introduced us to Omar, who provided is with delicious sea food, breakfast, and dinner. All meals were very well prepared at very cheap prices. The house, Fookie, and Sergio made El Salvador a memorable experience and leaving all three actually made us sad at the end of our trip. The house is worth it; it puts the beach, seafood, and relaxation at your finger tips. Highly recommended!!!"

  • Loved It!

"My girlfriend and I stayed at Casa Azul for a long weekend in February and absolutely loved the place! Its a huge house for 2 girlfriends on vacation with each other to stay but it was really a gorgeous house. Jeannie and her property management team were really helpful with organizing our stay and arranged for us to be picked up at the airport and driven back to the airport by a really friendly driver who didn't mind stopping by the grocery store on the way. The house is in a really lovely and impressive hillside development right across the street from the main beach in El Tunco. As the house is located up several steep hills I'd recommend you rent a car if you have a big family to wrangle as walking up the hills would probably be too much for small kids but since it was just the two of us adults, the hill actually gave us some added excercise. We felt 100% safe the entire time given there is security at the gate and personnel that patrol the neighborhood. Back to the house, its laid out perfectly for groups, has several large bedrooms great for adults and 2 bedrooms decorated more for children. The kitchen is perfect for preparing meals and has all the tools you might need. In addition, there's a lovely indoor eating space as well as a great outdoor patio with plenty of room for a group. The pool is really the piece de resistance with a stunning view of the ocean and is a great place to watch the sunset. The outdoor shower and side palapa with hammocks doesn't hurt either! In short, this place is an absolute steal with everything you'd need to accommodate a large group. If you have kids, even better as there are plenty of toys for them to play with. Next time we travel back to El Salvador we'll be sure to stay at Casa Azul. Loved it!!! Oh and there is a sweet doggie who lives on property who made us feel even safer (not that it was needed) and helped us get over missing our pets that we'd left at home. Wonderful!"

  • Beautiful House in GREAT location! Highly Recommended!

"The house is beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable (fresh air, cool, etc.)! It is located in a safe and convenient location close to malls like MultiPlaza, La Gran Via, and Galerias. Super Selectos and la Despensa are each less than 5 minutes away which makes it super convenient for grocery shopping. The property manager is always available in case you need any assistance and the house is cleaned regularly. I cannot recommend this location enough. I will definitely look at staying here the next time I visit this beautiful country."

El Salvador Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to El Salvador Vacation Rentals

El Salvador's main airport is the Comalapa International Airport which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of the capital city of San Salvado. The airport is commonly referred to as simply El Salvador International Airport. The airport hosts regular daily flights from international destinations, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, San Jose and Guatemala. The flight time from Los Angeles is approximately four to five hours. If your vacation home offers an airport transfer service, it is advisable to make use of this. It may be slightly more expensive than a taxi fare but at least you can be assured that you will have a speedy and hassle-free transfer. There is public transport available in El Salvador but it is not advisable for visitors to use the buses. The taxis in the cities are usually reliable enough.

Travelers to El Salvador Villas

El Salvador is the smallest of the countries in Central America. It is tucked away on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras. It is one of the lesser-known travel destinations in Central America and the ideal place for those looking for tranquility and privacy. Enjoy miles of pristine beaches easily accessible from your vacation home. The luxurious villas make you feel like royalty enjoying a slice of your own private paradise. If you enjoy long leisurely walks along the beach, surfing or swimming, this is the ideal vacation destination for you. The villas are large enough to accommodate groups of 10 people or more, so invite your friends and enjoy some tropical luxury at a relatively affordable rate. Most visitors to El Salvador are from North, Central and South America with a much smaller percentage from Europe.

Things To Do at El Salvador Beach Houses

El Salvador is becoming known as a prime surfing destination. The miles and miles of beautiful coastline and the consistent swell provide ideal surfing conditions. You can wake up each morning and walk straight onto the beach from your vacation villa. Near the main resort towns, there are designated beaches for surfing and swimming. Flags also indicate the water conditions and if there are rip currents that you need to be aware of. La Libertad is one of the most popular surfing areas.

El Salvador is a leisurely vacation destination. Most people enjoy lazing poolside or on the beach and enjoying the tropical sunshine. If you are looking for some entertainment, you can visit some of the nightspots and enjoy some of the local Latin vibe. In you are interested in the country's history, you can visit some of the war museums which detail the country's turbulent past and provide insight into the culture of Salvadorians.

Best Time of Year to Visit El Salvador

Located in Central America, El Salvador enjoys a warm tropical climate. The coastal areas are hot and humid for most of the year, and the interior highlands are moderately more temperate. Like most other Central American destinations, the rainy season is from May to October. Tropical storms do occasionally blow in from the Pacific Ocean. Travelers should be cautious about traveling during late summer as this is when the storms occur most frequently. From November through April, the trade winds dissipate their humidity over Honduras and arrive in El Salvador as hot dry winds. This often leads to a hazy atmosphere which gives the landscape a mystical feel about it. For most people, this is the preferred time of year to visit and has become the peak tourist season.
