  • Picture Perfect

"Two friends and I just returned from staying at Casa Bendicion for a week and absolutely loved it. Mike and his family are great hosts and can set you up with whatever you need...a ride to and from the airport, a cook, trips to the market, a massage, and local knowledge of places to eat and surf. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. The waves were fun and the locals were all very friendly. We enjoyed making the short walk from the house to the town of El Zonte to eat, shop, surf, etc. We never felt unsafe at all. In fact, it was quite the opposite. We found the locals to be incredibly friendly and helpful. I sustained a small cut on my head while surfing (out of my own carelessness) and when I walked up the beach w/ a bleeding head a small army of locals sprang into action getting me a wet towel, bandages, ice and making sure I made it to the house safely. I was so impressed. I highly recommend Mike's place for anyone looking to get away and just relax. The pool is perfect for cooling off and having AC in each of the rooms made it so comfortable for sleeping. Back in the cold waters of California I am missing this place more than ever and can't wait to get back. We'll be seeing you soon, Caballo. Thanks again for an awesome trip."

  • Wonderful Week!

"My husband and our 4 young boys, just returned from Casa Tia Tita for our second time. It was just as nice as the first! The beach, house, pool, the food and sunshine! Mario and his family are so kind and warm. We visited Cerro Verde this year with Mario and his son. It was beautiful! We highly recommend visiting some part of the country. Gordon is a pleasure to work with. Go visit El Salvador and stay here!"

  • Beautiful, Private and Peaceful

"I recently spent a week by myself at the casita at Villa del Olas. It was one of the best weeks I've spent in ages - perfect for contemplation and relaxation. The casita is immaculately kept, as are the grounds, and it is well equipped. Tyler was available for anything I needed, but my privacy was completely respected, which I appreciated. The view is mesmerizing - and at low tide, the beach and water are gorgeous. If you want to check out local restaurants, they are nearby. I couldn't drag myself away from the amazing view and the sounds of the waves that lulled me to sleep at night. I will DEFINITELY return."

  • The only sounds are the constant waves and the occasional rooster

"I stayed at El Jacalito with four friends for the most relaxing, enjoyable two week vacation of my well traveled life. This home is so spacious and comfortable with so many areas to congregate, dine, rest and chat that one feels to have an entire private resort at one's disposal. I loved the kitchen for staging buffet meals, appetizer spreads and quick meals on an impulse. Everything you need is there including candles for atmosphere and many seating options for couples or groups to enjoy. Without the distraction of TV and the internet, I found that we all talked to each other a lot and solved most of the world's problems, created all sorts of DIY craft projects and told adventure stories to each other that were nearly forgotten with our usual busy lives. We relaxed in the pool, the warm ocean and had rounds and rounds of splendid massage from the very kind caretaker who has magical hands. I would recommend a candlelight massage on the top of the the cabana with breezes blowing. Bring your favorite cream or lotion for an unforgettable experience. This is a very family friendly house with plenty of space for everyone. The caretakers are very competent and respectful of your peace and quiet but they are certainly available for any assistance or suggestions that you might need. I will return to this wonderful piece of paradise by the ocean, it would be hard to resist go again, I am making plans already."

El Salvador Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to El Salvador Vacation Rentals

El Salvador's main airport is the Comalapa International Airport which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of the capital city of San Salvado. The airport is commonly referred to as simply El Salvador International Airport. The airport hosts regular daily flights from international destinations, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, San Jose and Guatemala. The flight time from Los Angeles is approximately four to five hours. If your vacation home offers an airport transfer service, it is advisable to make use of this. It may be slightly more expensive than a taxi fare but at least you can be assured that you will have a speedy and hassle-free transfer. There is public transport available in El Salvador but it is not advisable for visitors to use the buses. The taxis in the cities are usually reliable enough.

Travelers to El Salvador Villas

El Salvador is the smallest of the countries in Central America. It is tucked away on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras. It is one of the lesser-known travel destinations in Central America and the ideal place for those looking for tranquility and privacy. Enjoy miles of pristine beaches easily accessible from your vacation home. The luxurious villas make you feel like royalty enjoying a slice of your own private paradise. If you enjoy long leisurely walks along the beach, surfing or swimming, this is the ideal vacation destination for you. The villas are large enough to accommodate groups of 10 people or more, so invite your friends and enjoy some tropical luxury at a relatively affordable rate. Most visitors to El Salvador are from North, Central and South America with a much smaller percentage from Europe.

Things To Do at El Salvador Beach Houses

El Salvador is becoming known as a prime surfing destination. The miles and miles of beautiful coastline and the consistent swell provide ideal surfing conditions. You can wake up each morning and walk straight onto the beach from your vacation villa. Near the main resort towns, there are designated beaches for surfing and swimming. Flags also indicate the water conditions and if there are rip currents that you need to be aware of. La Libertad is one of the most popular surfing areas.

El Salvador is a leisurely vacation destination. Most people enjoy lazing poolside or on the beach and enjoying the tropical sunshine. If you are looking for some entertainment, you can visit some of the nightspots and enjoy some of the local Latin vibe. In you are interested in the country's history, you can visit some of the war museums which detail the country's turbulent past and provide insight into the culture of Salvadorians.

Best Time of Year to Visit El Salvador

Located in Central America, El Salvador enjoys a warm tropical climate. The coastal areas are hot and humid for most of the year, and the interior highlands are moderately more temperate. Like most other Central American destinations, the rainy season is from May to October. Tropical storms do occasionally blow in from the Pacific Ocean. Travelers should be cautious about traveling during late summer as this is when the storms occur most frequently. From November through April, the trade winds dissipate their humidity over Honduras and arrive in El Salvador as hot dry winds. This often leads to a hazy atmosphere which gives the landscape a mystical feel about it. For most people, this is the preferred time of year to visit and has become the peak tourist season.
