  • Beautiful, Private and Peaceful

"I recently spent a week by myself at the casita at Villa del Olas. It was one of the best weeks I've spent in ages - perfect for contemplation and relaxation. The casita is immaculately kept, as are the grounds, and it is well equipped. Tyler was available for anything I needed, but my privacy was completely respected, which I appreciated. The view is mesmerizing - and at low tide, the beach and water are gorgeous. If you want to check out local restaurants, they are nearby. I couldn't drag myself away from the amazing view and the sounds of the waves that lulled me to sleep at night. I will DEFINITELY return."

  • Paradise Found

"My husband and I (age 40ish) stayed 8 nights at this romantic casita. It is spectacular in every way and really does exceed every expectation. The house comes complete with all basic cooking utensils and basic kitchenware. I would recommend bringing paper products such as paper towels, plastic wrap, and perhaps refrigerator containers to store left over food (fresh cut up fruit) in the fridge. The house offers 2 bathrooms, one in the casita, one outside for pool access. Bring hand soap for each bathroom. The daily maid service and pool cleaning every other day is a true luxury. There are a few beach front restaurants within walking distance. Roxanna the property manager is very helpful in recommending all sorts of sights to see as well as dining options. She speaks excellent English. You will not be disappointed staying at this property. DÁrcy the property owner is very quick to answer any booking inquiries and is very professional arranging money transfers for payment and refund of damage deposit."

  • A piece of God's beautiful creation!

"Our first visit was in 2011 after a mission trip with Joni and Friends. We desired to have a few days of R & R before returning home. This spot as become our home away from home. D'Arcy and Sean do a fantastic job of making us feel like 'Kings & Queens". This past November was our third trip and we were in tears having to leave. The views are amazing and the constant roar of the waves crashing on the rocks below have such a calming effect. This year was exciting because we witnessed two thunderstorms out over the oceans. The hospitality and concern for our comfort were unmatched and the hosts are very accommodating. They even welcomed us to include new friends over for a fantastic dinner. A massage on the lower patio overlooking the ocean was a welcome treat after 7-10 days of fitting wheelchairs. Our daughter joined us the first trip and wanted to do many of the touristy things which are available but upon seeing the views she said, "Dad, we don't need to go anywhere else" This truly is a paradise and the "jewel" of Central America. You must know that there are a lot of places to see from volcanoes to archeological digs. However, we have never felt the need to leave this place once we arrived."

El Salvador Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to El Salvador Vacation Rentals

El Salvador's main airport is the Comalapa International Airport which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of the capital city of San Salvado. The airport is commonly referred to as simply El Salvador International Airport. The airport hosts regular daily flights from international destinations, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, San Jose and Guatemala. The flight time from Los Angeles is approximately four to five hours. If your vacation home offers an airport transfer service, it is advisable to make use of this. It may be slightly more expensive than a taxi fare but at least you can be assured that you will have a speedy and hassle-free transfer. There is public transport available in El Salvador but it is not advisable for visitors to use the buses. The taxis in the cities are usually reliable enough.

Travelers to El Salvador Villas

El Salvador is the smallest of the countries in Central America. It is tucked away on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras. It is one of the lesser-known travel destinations in Central America and the ideal place for those looking for tranquility and privacy. Enjoy miles of pristine beaches easily accessible from your vacation home. The luxurious villas make you feel like royalty enjoying a slice of your own private paradise. If you enjoy long leisurely walks along the beach, surfing or swimming, this is the ideal vacation destination for you. The villas are large enough to accommodate groups of 10 people or more, so invite your friends and enjoy some tropical luxury at a relatively affordable rate. Most visitors to El Salvador are from North, Central and South America with a much smaller percentage from Europe.

El Salvador is becoming known as a prime surfing destination. The miles and miles of beautiful coastline and the consistent swell provide ideal surfing conditions. You can wake up each morning and walk straight onto the beach from your vacation villa. Near the main resort towns, there are designated beaches for surfing and swimming. Flags also indicate the water conditions and if there are rip currents that you need to be aware of. La Libertad is one of the most popular surfing areas.

El Salvador is a leisurely vacation destination. Most people enjoy lazing poolside or on the beach and enjoying the tropical sunshine. If you are looking for some entertainment, you can visit some of the nightspots and enjoy some of the local Latin vibe. In you are interested in the country's history, you can visit some of the war museums which detail the country's turbulent past and provide insight into the culture of Salvadorians.

Best Time of Year to Visit El Salvador

Located in Central America, El Salvador enjoys a warm tropical climate. The coastal areas are hot and humid for most of the year, and the interior highlands are moderately more temperate. Like most other Central American destinations, the rainy season is from May to October. Tropical storms do occasionally blow in from the Pacific Ocean. Travelers should be cautious about traveling during late summer as this is when the storms occur most frequently. From November through April, the trade winds dissipate their humidity over Honduras and arrive in El Salvador as hot dry winds. This often leads to a hazy atmosphere which gives the landscape a mystical feel about it. For most people, this is the preferred time of year to visit and has become the peak tourist season.
