  • Beautiful, Private and Peaceful

"I recently spent a week by myself at the casita at Villa del Olas. It was one of the best weeks I've spent in ages - perfect for contemplation and relaxation. The casita is immaculately kept, as are the grounds, and it is well equipped. Tyler was available for anything I needed, but my privacy was completely respected, which I appreciated. The view is mesmerizing - and at low tide, the beach and water are gorgeous. If you want to check out local restaurants, they are nearby. I couldn't drag myself away from the amazing view and the sounds of the waves that lulled me to sleep at night. I will DEFINITELY return."

  • Stunning Experience

"Vistalago is indeed a stunning lakefront property. Our party of 11 Glasswing volunteers had an amazing 5 days! This property is perfect in every way! The sleep accommodations are perfection: the rooms and linens clean and crisp, bathrooms large and bright. The grounds are lush, floral, well maintained. The pool is heated and just the perfect temperature for an evening swim when the temperature dips to the 70s. The great room is open, airy, cool in the heat of the day, and plenty room for group activities. The lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been: refreshing crystal clear water, both sunrise and sunset from the dock, and volcanic hot springs (what a surprise!!). We had a boat ride across the lake and the opportunity to jet ski but our favorite part of the lake was watching the sun rise over still waters with a hot coffee in hand. Since our group was so large, we hired Marina and Guadalupe to help us with cooking and cleaning. They were outstanding. They cooked authentic Salvadoran food and even arranged for a meal of fresh-fried lake fish caught that same day by Guadalupe's father! Thanks to Ricardo for making this available. We will definitely be back."

  • Couldnt have asked for more!

"While El Salvador is still a bit "3rd world" Villa Bendicion is nothing short of first class. The owner Mike and his family go above and beyond to ensure your stay is the best ever. The property is absolutely stunning, safe, and very well taken care of. The small town of Zonte is a short walk yet just far enough away that you can hear anything at night from town. The amenities and full kitchen at the house make you feel like your at your own home away from home. We cooked most evenings and enjoyed the cooler night time air on the patios and watched the BEAUTIFUL thunder and lightning storms that would pass through. If your looking to get away from it all but close enough to restaurants and other things this is the property for you. Truly looking forward to going back!"

  • The pictures don't do it justice

"This property far exceeded our expectations. Came here for a 9-day surf trip with some friends and was completely blown away. There are three main hang-out areas: the main house with 3 bedrooms and a large open veranda with a bunch of hammocks; the gazebo on the point, incredible view; the west residence which houses the kitchen, 2 bedrooms and abuts the pool. Pool very, very nice and relaxing. Private steps down to a private beach and a hideaway, super-refreshing outdoor shower. It is a walk to the main surf point but well worth it for the beauty of this house. It should also be noted that the 2 bedrooms in the west building do not have air conditioning, but everyone was quite comfortable with the ceiling fans nonetheless. Santos and Karin took exceptional care of our party. Cooking when we asked, guiding the uninitiated into La Libertad for supplies on occasion. I have been to Playa El Zonte many times but most of my friends had not. Now they will all be coming back."

El Salvador Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to El Salvador Vacation Rentals

El Salvador's main airport is the Comalapa International Airport which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of the capital city of San Salvado. The airport is commonly referred to as simply El Salvador International Airport. The airport hosts regular daily flights from international destinations, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, San Jose and Guatemala. The flight time from Los Angeles is approximately four to five hours. If your vacation home offers an airport transfer service, it is advisable to make use of this. It may be slightly more expensive than a taxi fare but at least you can be assured that you will have a speedy and hassle-free transfer. There is public transport available in El Salvador but it is not advisable for visitors to use the buses. The taxis in the cities are usually reliable enough.

Travelers to El Salvador Villas

El Salvador is the smallest of the countries in Central America. It is tucked away on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras. It is one of the lesser-known travel destinations in Central America and the ideal place for those looking for tranquility and privacy. Enjoy miles of pristine beaches easily accessible from your vacation home. The luxurious villas make you feel like royalty enjoying a slice of your own private paradise. If you enjoy long leisurely walks along the beach, surfing or swimming, this is the ideal vacation destination for you. The villas are large enough to accommodate groups of 10 people or more, so invite your friends and enjoy some tropical luxury at a relatively affordable rate. Most visitors to El Salvador are from North, Central and South America with a much smaller percentage from Europe.

Things To Do at El Salvador Beach Houses

El Salvador is becoming known as a prime surfing destination. The miles and miles of beautiful coastline and the consistent swell provide ideal surfing conditions. You can wake up each morning and walk straight onto the beach from your vacation villa. Near the main resort towns, there are designated beaches for surfing and swimming. Flags also indicate the water conditions and if there are rip currents that you need to be aware of. La Libertad is one of the most popular surfing areas.

El Salvador is a leisurely vacation destination. Most people enjoy lazing poolside or on the beach and enjoying the tropical sunshine. If you are looking for some entertainment, you can visit some of the nightspots and enjoy some of the local Latin vibe. In you are interested in the country's history, you can visit some of the war museums which detail the country's turbulent past and provide insight into the culture of Salvadorians.

Best Time of Year to Visit El Salvador

Located in Central America, El Salvador enjoys a warm tropical climate. The coastal areas are hot and humid for most of the year, and the interior highlands are moderately more temperate. Like most other Central American destinations, the rainy season is from May to October. Tropical storms do occasionally blow in from the Pacific Ocean. Travelers should be cautious about traveling during late summer as this is when the storms occur most frequently. From November through April, the trade winds dissipate their humidity over Honduras and arrive in El Salvador as hot dry winds. This often leads to a hazy atmosphere which gives the landscape a mystical feel about it. For most people, this is the preferred time of year to visit and has become the peak tourist season.
