  • Great affordable place to stay.

"I came down with my father and brothers and had a great time in El Salvador at this property. It was very affordable so we were a little worried about the quality of the property but it ended up being very nice. It is right off the beach and away from touristy areas but less than a mile from La Libertad. The part that stuck out the most was the staff. They have a grounds keeper that was there everyday to help with anything that we needed. The maid came every morning to clean up after us. She would even do our dishes for us from the previous day. I would most defiantly use this property again in the future. My only problem, very small problem too, was that wifi wasn't very good. We were informed of this as soon as we got there and they showed us some places in town to get easy access to it. If you like to play at your own private beach and be away from everything this is the place for you. The property was exactly as described."

  • Spectacular, fabulous, wonderful vacation

"This vacation was magnificent. The beach is long and wide; the sand is soft; the water is crystal clear in December, the waves are just right, and the shells are varied and plentiful. The beach is not commercialized at all. There are private homes nestled behind palm trees, but there are no developments, and the beach is wide open for people to walk for miles. The hammocks in the gazebo are shaded by the palm trees, and the pool is just beside you as you look at the beach only footsteps away. The caretakers are kind and do their work well; Maura is a very good cook. The indoor/outdoor house is perfect for the beach: there is no wall separating the kitchen, dining room, and large living area from the view of the pool, palm trees, and beach beyond. The floor and furniture are made of materials that are not damaged by sandy feet and wet bathing suits. The bedrooms are comfortable, clean, and attractive, and there are plenty of bathrooms. We loved it. You are sure to love it, too."

  • Loved it!

"Vista Lago was much more than we expected. We were a party of 8, from different countries en Central America and were attending the wedding of the daughter of a dear friend. We wanted to be relaxed, share private time and relax and Vista Lago as well as Marina and Emanuelle provided the perfect environment for that. The place is neat! Highly recommended. Would certainly be back! Agree wit Barbecue R.: Way better than the pictures!"

  • Wayfaring Stranger

"I am an American living in El Salvador and I love to show off this beautiful country to my friends and family who come to visit me. Rancho Cajun was the perfect place to do that. The house was lovely and very well furnished. It was probably the best furnished beach house I've ever been at. The beach was amazing, right out our front door, waves were a little bit rough for the kids, but this is La Libertad. Our stretch of the beach was basically empty and we had it to ourselves. Dianne and her staff were amazingly helpful. Dianne made sure we had everything we needed, and recommended restaurants and generally made us feel at home. Jackie and the others that stopped by during the day to clean up the yard and the pool were super respectful and helpful as well. Knowing that they were available and willing to help with more stuff like cooking etc. was also nice even though we did all our own cooking. My only regret is that we were not able to stay longer than two nights. I will definitely be keeping Dianne's contact info handy for the next time friends or family come to visit me."

El Salvador Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to El Salvador Vacation Rentals

El Salvador's main airport is the Comalapa International Airport which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of the capital city of San Salvado. The airport is commonly referred to as simply El Salvador International Airport. The airport hosts regular daily flights from international destinations, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, San Jose and Guatemala. The flight time from Los Angeles is approximately four to five hours. If your vacation home offers an airport transfer service, it is advisable to make use of this. It may be slightly more expensive than a taxi fare but at least you can be assured that you will have a speedy and hassle-free transfer. There is public transport available in El Salvador but it is not advisable for visitors to use the buses. The taxis in the cities are usually reliable enough.

Travelers to El Salvador Villas

El Salvador is the smallest of the countries in Central America. It is tucked away on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras. It is one of the lesser-known travel destinations in Central America and the ideal place for those looking for tranquility and privacy. Enjoy miles of pristine beaches easily accessible from your vacation home. The luxurious villas make you feel like royalty enjoying a slice of your own private paradise. If you enjoy long leisurely walks along the beach, surfing or swimming, this is the ideal vacation destination for you. The villas are large enough to accommodate groups of 10 people or more, so invite your friends and enjoy some tropical luxury at a relatively affordable rate. Most visitors to El Salvador are from North, Central and South America with a much smaller percentage from Europe.

Things To Do at El Salvador Beach Houses

El Salvador is becoming known as a prime surfing destination. The miles and miles of beautiful coastline and the consistent swell provide ideal surfing conditions. You can wake up each morning and walk straight onto the beach from your vacation villa. Near the main resort towns, there are designated beaches for surfing and swimming. Flags also indicate the water conditions and if there are rip currents that you need to be aware of. La Libertad is one of the most popular surfing areas.

El Salvador is a leisurely vacation destination. Most people enjoy lazing poolside or on the beach and enjoying the tropical sunshine. If you are looking for some entertainment, you can visit some of the nightspots and enjoy some of the local Latin vibe. In you are interested in the country's history, you can visit some of the war museums which detail the country's turbulent past and provide insight into the culture of Salvadorians.

Best Time of Year to Visit El Salvador

Located in Central America, El Salvador enjoys a warm tropical climate. The coastal areas are hot and humid for most of the year, and the interior highlands are moderately more temperate. Like most other Central American destinations, the rainy season is from May to October. Tropical storms do occasionally blow in from the Pacific Ocean. Travelers should be cautious about traveling during late summer as this is when the storms occur most frequently. From November through April, the trade winds dissipate their humidity over Honduras and arrive in El Salvador as hot dry winds. This often leads to a hazy atmosphere which gives the landscape a mystical feel about it. For most people, this is the preferred time of year to visit and has become the peak tourist season.
