  • The only sounds are the constant waves and the occasional rooster

"I stayed at El Jacalito with four friends for the most relaxing, enjoyable two week vacation of my well traveled life. This home is so spacious and comfortable with so many areas to congregate, dine, rest and chat that one feels to have an entire private resort at one's disposal. I loved the kitchen for staging buffet meals, appetizer spreads and quick meals on an impulse. Everything you need is there including candles for atmosphere and many seating options for couples or groups to enjoy. Without the distraction of TV and the internet, I found that we all talked to each other a lot and solved most of the world's problems, created all sorts of DIY craft projects and told adventure stories to each other that were nearly forgotten with our usual busy lives. We relaxed in the pool, the warm ocean and had rounds and rounds of splendid massage from the very kind caretaker who has magical hands. I would recommend a candlelight massage on the top of the the cabana with breezes blowing. Bring your favorite cream or lotion for an unforgettable experience. This is a very family friendly house with plenty of space for everyone. The caretakers are very competent and respectful of your peace and quiet but they are certainly available for any assistance or suggestions that you might need. I will return to this wonderful piece of paradise by the ocean, it would be hard to resist go again, I am making plans already."

  • We found paradise!!

"My husband and I truly found paradise at the Beach Bella Vista. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer... as in forever ;) We stayed in the main house. We are already making plans to return, and this next time we will bring our family. It was incredibly relaxing. There isn't anything quite like a gentle ocean breeze and the sound of waves to lull you to sleep at night, or as you rock gently in one of the hammocks. Seriously, it is pure bliss. We found friends for life in meeting Shawn and D'Arcy. They are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. They are attentive, prompt, and truly dedicated to making sure that their guests have a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the Burke's recommendations for restaurants, and activities (including surf lessons!) The home itself is beautiful. It is modern, comfortable, spacious, nicely appointed, and impeccably clean. The pool and gardens are also very beautiful and well maintained. The views are unbeatable, and the ocean is warm and welcoming. The waves are perfect for boogy-boarding or body-surfing. It would also be an ideal place to skim-board (at least during the drier season when the sand is plentilful). We honestly can't recommend this home highly enough. If you are interested in having the most incredible vacation and El Salvadorian experience possible, you need to stay here. We honestly cannot wait to go back!!"

  • 4th year, better than ever

"this is the fourth year we have gone to Casa Tia Tita, and as others have said, it just keeps getting better. My friends and I committed to doing 20 years in a row here, why go anywhere else. Mario and Morena and their beautiful kids are the best!"

  • ¡Espectacular!

"Definitivamente las fotos no hacen honor a este lugar espectacular, muy bien ubicado en un área bastante tranquila del lago. 8 personas nos hospedamos cómodamente en la casa para la boda de una amiga, la casa es súper grande y lo cual nos encantó porque todas las damas de honor pudimos prepararnos para la boda en la casa. Marina nos atendió de lo mejor, muy proactiva nos preparó desayuno para que no tuvieramos que preocuparnos por nada más que descansar y disfrutar. 100% recomendada!"

El Salvador Travel Tips

Finding Your Way to El Salvador Vacation Rentals

El Salvador's main airport is the Comalapa International Airport which is located approximately 30 miles southeast of the capital city of San Salvado. The airport is commonly referred to as simply El Salvador International Airport. The airport hosts regular daily flights from international destinations, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, San Jose and Guatemala. The flight time from Los Angeles is approximately four to five hours. If your vacation home offers an airport transfer service, it is advisable to make use of this. It may be slightly more expensive than a taxi fare but at least you can be assured that you will have a speedy and hassle-free transfer. There is public transport available in El Salvador but it is not advisable for visitors to use the buses. The taxis in the cities are usually reliable enough.

Travelers to El Salvador Villas

El Salvador is the smallest of the countries in Central America. It is tucked away on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras. It is one of the lesser-known travel destinations in Central America and the ideal place for those looking for tranquility and privacy. Enjoy miles of pristine beaches easily accessible from your vacation home. The luxurious villas make you feel like royalty enjoying a slice of your own private paradise. If you enjoy long leisurely walks along the beach, surfing or swimming, this is the ideal vacation destination for you. The villas are large enough to accommodate groups of 10 people or more, so invite your friends and enjoy some tropical luxury at a relatively affordable rate. Most visitors to El Salvador are from North, Central and South America with a much smaller percentage from Europe.

Things To Do at El Salvador Beach Houses

El Salvador is becoming known as a prime surfing destination. The miles and miles of beautiful coastline and the consistent swell provide ideal surfing conditions. You can wake up each morning and walk straight onto the beach from your vacation villa. Near the main resort towns, there are designated beaches for surfing and swimming. Flags also indicate the water conditions and if there are rip currents that you need to be aware of. La Libertad is one of the most popular surfing areas.

El Salvador is a leisurely vacation destination. Most people enjoy lazing poolside or on the beach and enjoying the tropical sunshine. If you are looking for some entertainment, you can visit some of the nightspots and enjoy some of the local Latin vibe. In you are interested in the country's history, you can visit some of the war museums which detail the country's turbulent past and provide insight into the culture of Salvadorians.

Best Time of Year to Visit El Salvador

Located in Central America, El Salvador enjoys a warm tropical climate. The coastal areas are hot and humid for most of the year, and the interior highlands are moderately more temperate. Like most other Central American destinations, the rainy season is from May to October. Tropical storms do occasionally blow in from the Pacific Ocean. Travelers should be cautious about traveling during late summer as this is when the storms occur most frequently. From November through April, the trade winds dissipate their humidity over Honduras and arrive in El Salvador as hot dry winds. This often leads to a hazy atmosphere which gives the landscape a mystical feel about it. For most people, this is the preferred time of year to visit and has become the peak tourist season.
