  • A lovely stay!

"Casa del Sol exceeded all our expectations during our recent Guatemala travels. The delightful historic character, coziness and comfort made this our most memorable stay in Antigua. The caretaker family is gracious, warm and welcoming. The location was terrific, just a few minutes walking to the plaza and within walking distance to sites and restaurants. We will happily return to Casa del Sol!"

  • great location

"My son and I roomed in the Don Pedro apartment for three weeks this last July. We found the location to be excellent; few blocks from the plaza but far enough from the center's noise. The staff, and especially David, the manager, made every effort to make our stay special and comfortable and provided us with extra kitchen gadgets since we did not want to eat out every night. (The kitchen is not fully equipped but you may ask to borrow what you need). They also provide their guests with airport shuttles and have a tour agency they can refer you to for travel around the country. My son's wonderful Spanish academy, Ixchel Spanish School, is located two-and a half blocks away and so are several little shops nearby where you can buy many edibles including fresh made tortillas. The security of the building complex made us feel secure throughout our stay and the apartment has a safe where to store valuables. We will gladly stay again at El Marques de Antigua when we return to Antigua."

  • 8 Weeks in Casa Amelia

"We spent the last 8 weeks at Casa Amelia and had a lovely time. This home is very nice and has all of the modern conveniences anyone could wish for. We had more than enough room for our family of 4 and the home could very easily accommodate two families. I really liked that my kids were sleeping in the room directly above me and I could hear them if need be. Often colonial houses are spread out making it difficult to hear little ones. We fell in love with the location as it is close to everything. We walked everywhere in the city and only took a tuk tuk home in the evening when it was late. This home is in a very nice part of town with restaurants, tiendas and bakeries nearby (the main grocery is on the other side of town, but still an easy walk). A real highlight for us is that there is a bi-lingual Montessori school (Oxford) just across the street. They have a very flexible enrollment and take pre-school kids through age 10. Additionally very near is a great Gym for working out (La Fabrica) and a wonderful Spanish school ( Sevilla) all within a 5-8 minute walk ( both off of 1st avenida). While the home is not in a gated community we always felt very safe and comfortable coming and going. The neighbors and the house ladies who live next door and look after the home were super helpful as are the owners of this home who live in the US. They were more than accommodating and helped to make our visit wonderful. Antigua is a lively little city, so there will be some city noise. Buses, people, cars, firecrackers and sirens are a common occurrence. For us it was all a part of the Central American charm. This is a great place to make a home base to explore the region and get a real feel for the culture."

  • Perfect

"My family and I stayed for a week at Casa Bella in Antigua. The house is immaculately kept with beautiful gardens throughout and so much natural light. We were a family of four and had more than enough room to lounge together as well as privately. The rooftop deck off the master suite is the perfect setting for a full view of the agua volcano with your morning coffee. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone wanting to stay within walking distance to town who is looking for a home away from home. It is in a secure gated community near the artists markets, restaurants and more. Our only issue was having to leave. :)"
