"My friends and I just spent another lovely week at Rico's house. This is the second time we've stayed there, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Rico, as always, was extremely attentive and helpful, as was his caretaker, Carlos. The house is cozy and well equipped and the gardens are lush – it is a little piece of paradise. We hope to be returning soon!"Guest: Sarah Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 26, 2014View listing
"We stayed at the Castle Casa for 1 week in March. It was so lovely, relaxing, with incredible views of the lake and lots of mature vegetation and fruit trees. Beautiful construction - gorgeous built-in huge chiminea-style fireplace - the entire house including all rockwork and stone paving was hand crafted. The home had stylish furnishings with all kitchen amenities and we could not have asked for more. It is at the end of a recently-paved road and transportation is not a problem with all the small "taxicabs" available. If you want to walk, the town of San Pedro is only 10 minutes away. We would hands-down recommend this to anyone looking for a really good quality get-away at a fair price. And the owner does want to sell it!! Good investment!!!"Guest: marie Dr Frandle Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 5, 2014View listing
"My husband, two teenage children, and I stayed here for two nights in June, and oh how we all wish it had been longer. It's a magical place. Waking early and watching the birds and the lake from the home will be one of my favorite memories from a very memorable trip. The view of the lake from the home is breathtaking, in such a romantic setting! The accommodations were spacious, comfortable, and decorated with warmth and style. All the staff members were so accommodating and polite and always with a smile. The meals were prepared and presented so thoughtfully. A very sincere thanks to David Yates, the manager of this beautiful property. David looked after us incredibly well and was always a phone call away if we had a question or needed any suggestion. He went above and beyond what was required or expected, and took such good care of us that it felt as if we were visiting a dear friend. We have traveled quite a bit and know that this is a rarity. It’s definitely a place my family will remember forever. We would go back to Casa Tzampoc and Lake Atitlan in a heartbeat."Guest: MG Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 6, 2014View listing
"All key aspects of the stay were great. This includes the view, the quality of the home, the pre and post service, the cooking and caretaker. You absolutely cannot beat the view - sunrise, sunset and everything in between. The grounds were equally interesting for my son and I to wander through. Claudia (the cook) was very sweet and did an amazing job for breakfast and dinner (we had her pick all the meals). Ramos was a big help with carrying the bags up the hill/steps (please note that it is a bit of a trek from the dock so be prepared) and being sure we had all we needed. As you may already know, boating is the way to get around to the surrounding villages that are great experience. Though there is limited to see/visit/shop in Santa Cruz, it is worth the trek to visit their vocational center to buy some of their wonderful textile work and enjoy lunch (the best purchased lunch we had in Guatemala). It is a wonderful cause too! The Nature Preserve (in Pana) is a must for kids for the waterfall, monkeys and coatis (and zip lining for those not faint of heart). Lastly, Deedle was a big help in planning the trip and her staff at the nearby La Iguana hotel were always kind and helpful when advice or money exchange was desired. DEFINTELY worth the visit and comes highly recommended."Guest: Joe S. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 1, 2014View listing
