  • Fantastic Getaway!

"I stayed here for two nights with my friends for a birthday weekend and it was fantastic! Before the trip the owner Jeff did an excellent of providing me with all the info and things I needed to do before staying there. He was always willing to talk on the phone and replied to emails rapidly. Also the care taker Abelino and his family were extremely polite and helpful. Abelino was responsive and ready to help us at any moment. They cleaned the pool every morning at 8 and if we needed anything we could just ask. The house was fully equipped with kitchen utinsels, speakers, more than enough beds, AC at night, a beautiful view and close walk to the beach. Working wifi, showers, and Television. This is definitly a place I would stay again and recommend to others."

  • Living in Antigua

"Our stay in Casa del Sol was for 9 weeks, including Semana Santa, although we travelled around Guatemela for short jaunts too. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need while fitting so beautifully into the colonial ambience of Antigua. I used the kitchen a lot and found it easy with everything I needed and a beautiful view of the garden, which was our favourite place.Fresh Guatemalan fruit is the best in the world! The caretaker family and their 3 wonderful kids were so helpful but entirely respectful of our privacy. We do not speak spanish and they were very patient, supportive and helpful. The location of the house is ideal for sightseeing and still quiet at night. Antigua is a wonderful place to visit and Casa del Sol is the perfect place to stay. Take time to wander and really get to know the city. The people of Guatemala were friendly and helpful and so nice. What a welcoming country to visit!"

  • Antigua casita

"This home was the perfect base for our family to base our reunion and travels out of. It is the perfect size for 5-6 people - especially if some of those people are children, centrally located with some really friendly 24-hour guards, BEAUTIFUL on both the inside and outside with two awesome pools, and filled with amenities that I didn't expect, like a washer and dryer! Julie, the owner, is both friendly and quick to respond to emails, which was really important when we were having travel difficulties. I felt like she opened her home to us and welcomed us with open arms, even though she was all the way in D.C. The location of the house is ideal -- close to downtown and to the market. We walked everywhere and when we got tired, called a taxi for 25Q. The value that we paid for the house was wonderful and it is tastefully decorated with Guatemalan antiques and artisan pieces. I would DEFINITELY stay here again without a moment's hesitation."

  • Lake Atitlan at its best!

"We loved our stay at this lakefront home on beautiful Lake Atitlan! The views are expansive and unrestricted, best enjoyed from the hammock and outdoor dining table. It was the perfect way to unwind after some long days of travel. We enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen while our kids played games left for guests to use. The home is tasteful and relaxed, very comfortable, and the owner provides detailed information about what to do at the lake. The caretaker was wonderful and made us feel welcomed and safe. This was my favorite stop on our entire vacation. Very highly recommended!"

Guatemala is located in Central America and shares borders with Mexico to the north, Belize and Honduras to the east, and El Salvador to the south. Its longest coastline is on the Pacific side. The country is probably best known for its magnificent Mayan ruins. The Tikal Archeological Park encompasses a vast area of Mayan ruins. Guatemala's natural heritage is no less impressive. There are many adventure activities available for those who enjoy the outdoors. Traveling to Guatemala

The primary travel hub in Guatemala is Guatemala City. The Aurora International Airport is located four miles south of Guatemala City. There is a shuttle bus service that links the airport and city center. Local taxis are also available if you would prefer a private transfer. The Aurora Airport has frequently scheduled arrivals from several major cities in the U.S. These include New York City, Miami, Atlanta and Houston. There are also direct regularly scheduled flights operating from Madrid. For Euopean travelers, this will be the most direct flight option unless you want to travel via the United States.
