"Wonderful, best vacation ever!! Everything you need is in this condo. Stop by grocery store after you are picked up by Ron-get salt and cooking oil. Ask Ron and Judy for any suggestions if you are looking for anything. If they invite you on a Sunday excursion-go on it, you will see beautiful beaches and eat fresh fish (delicious), on the pier (covered). We also got to ride through the mangroves and jump from a rope tied to one of the trees while on this trip. Don't need to use the air conditioner; Its cool with just the ceiling fan and windows opened. Had so many things to keep us busy that we never got to snorkel off our pier and see the starfish or the sunset from there. Condo is very private, no one bothers you. There are mangos for your picking (delicious), you can hear them falling off the trees. So much to say, could go on and on, but we truly enjoyed our stay here and plan on going back, looks like this may be our retirement home"

  • Nice tropical place to visit

"We just got back. The condo was very nice to stay in. The kitchen was capable to cook up meals (bring your own spices, sugar and salt; nothing is there) , the bed was very comfortable, the internet was quick, the resort was nice. If you are going to do a lot of cooking take a taxi to the Aldons ($30) to get stocked up. If your just going to do the basics the strip mall grocery store within walking distance will suffice. (just don't buy the pudding it was spoiled) The store also has a nice breakfast, was kind of interesting eating breakfast in the middle of a grocery store. We bought bread, peanut butter, jelly, pop, liquor and snacks from them. We used the dive shop at the resort for shore dives every day, $22 a dive. It was nice to be able to dive on your own and see and go on your own pace. There is two reefs, one at about 15 to 20 feet deep about 75 yards out and then about 50 yards of sand (look for flounders and rays here) and then a reef at about 30ft that goes down to about 80ft. We seen green eels, turtles, scorpion fish, lion fish (didn't have a spear), shark, starfish, lobsters and a ton of various fish including large grouper. We did not do a boat dive, we enjoyed the shore diving so much. We ate at the numerous restaurants along the beach every night. Each displays their specials on a sign as a you walk by. Happy hour from 4p to 7p everynight. There was live music or movies on the beach to keep you entertained. At the restaurant "bite on the beach" which is on the water, they have large green eels you can see while eating dinner. The best entertainment was the beautiful sunsets every night. Talking about food, "banana donut", is a saying every visitor will recognize, he was even at the airport when we were leaving. The pool was nice to lay around during the day, so was the beach, don't forget the sunscreen. The bugs never bothered us. The shuttle from the airport and back was a nice option. We only ate breakfast one day at the resort. It was good but expensive. We took several walks in the area, hilly and hot but very nice views. Most of the time the beach was quite quiet and relaxing. It got busy a few days for a few hours when the cruise passengers showed up but it was not overwhelming. The evenings were always quiet. We would stay here again. This beach area ranks up at the top of my list, especially if you like to shore dive."

  • Awesome family vacation house!

"There are many things that made our time in Roatan awesome and at the top of that list is the Seagrove Retreat. The house was more than comfortable for our group of 6 adults and 1 child. You will find everything you need from towels to items in the kitchen to water gear like kayaks and snorkels. It was such a bonus to have the pool for relaxing and the washing machine made life easier. The home is situated up on the hillside taking full advantage of the breezes. The home's staff was beyond helpful and accommodating. Franklin and Junior made sure we were able to go to anywhere we wanted and arranged for us to have the freshest lobster and fish. Their recommendations for restaurants and activities were excellent. The owner, Paul, is extremely easy to deal with and a good Roatan resource as well (he suggested our fantastic dive guide Larry). We would like to come back to Roatan in the near future and would definitely want to stay at Seagrove Retreat again!"

  • family vacation

"We had our big family vacation this year in this beautiful villa in Utila. We were a total of 11 people with 6 adults and 5 children. There was more than enough room for all of us. The rooms were large, clean and the air conditioners worked wonderfully. Kids spent hours in the pool while we enjoyed the incredible view from the back porch. The island offered some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the whole world but there was even plenty of snorkeling to be done from right in front of the house. We got to see eels and stingrays along with other tropical fish right in front of the house. It was truly amazing. The house had WiFi and US satellite TV to keep us in contact with home. Town is 5 minutes golf cart ride away. We felt very safe throughout the stay. Blanca went out of her to make sure we had an incredible vacation."
