"We just returned from a week in Mariposa and 2 days in Brisa! What a great experience...exactly what we were looking for...clean, very quiet, great views, sunsets, snorkeling right in front of the house. Bruce, Nicky & Phil thought of everything from a cell phone to use with important local contacts, Toyota van to use, a great spa! The house was fully equipped with a great kitchen, living, dining, pool/deck areas. Rosa & Theresa were the best offering fresh seafood dinners. Our only regret is we did not have Rosa cook for us more often. The Black pearl golf course was a great deal, only about $120 for greens fees, cart, club rental & a caddie! Next year we want to plan 2 weeks so we can golf more...snorkel more...scuba dive more...and relax more!!"

"This was our first trip to Roatan and we can't wait to go back! Beautiful barefoot beach with many dining options on the beach. My luggage was lost by the airline so I bought a bathing suit, coverup, flipflops (barely got any use), and an island dress. This was seriously all I needed! The best snorkling we've ever done just off the beach. I will suggest if you rent equipment, Infinity has a dive shop with good snorkel gear but keep it for the whole week. We returned ours the first day and wanted to rent again but they ran out of stock. Local boys run a water taxi called "Joy Ride" Davie and Quentin are super kind and fun! They took us on an island tour (from the water) and to a place to snorkel called Spooky Channel. This was the most awesome experience ever! Saw sea turtles and schools of fish in the 100's! So beautiful! Andrea's condo was perfect for 2! Nice and quiet in the back of the complex, completely out of earshot of the pool and bar. She was great to work with and answered our questions quickly. Infinity was the most luxurious condo's on the beach; great pool, great bar, great food. No need for all inclusive there are lots of fun places to eat and drink along the beach. My only other suggestion is to go for more than 1 week:)"

"It was an amazing and relaxing vacation at Hobbies. Thanks to our host, Sue and John we could relax from the time we were picked up at the airport until we sadly had to go home after two weeks in this lovely quiet and safe area. The information provided to us by John gave us the knowledge and confidence to take the local bus to town and explore on our own. Our little apartment # 3- was perfect for our needs and the large covered porch allowed us to enjoy the ocean view and the soft breeze.
My best friend and I get together every few years and plan a girl’s get away. (More accurately - older ladies in our 60's) We wanted to snorkel and walk and enjoy the area, and we did. There was no difficulty for us to swim from the dock to the reef every sunny day. The reef is full of life everywhere you look. We could not have been more amazed with the sites and having it right in front of the apartment doubled our pleasure. Thank you so much Sue and John for sharing this experience with us. The personal service at Hobbies is superior to any we have previously experienced. The airport pickup, grocery shopping and the tour of the towns gave us a sense belonging. You will not get service like this just anywhere, what a pleasure to have experienced this from our hosts Sue and John. John arranged horseback riding on the beach and drove to us to Anthony’s Keys for our morning ride. If you want to do any tours, John was there to help you find just the right tour to fit your needs.
The area is quiet and private, just what we wanted. No overcrowded beach, just the sound of the waves and a soft breeze. We walked the beach and rarely encountered anyone, we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves to explore.
I highly recommend Hobbies Hideaway for a restful vacation. You are just minutes from town if you want to eat out or shop and the beautiful beach at the apartment when you don't. Hobbies provides the best of both. We meet people in town from all over the world. The Honduran people we meet were friendly and helpful. The street vendors were pleasant and respectful when we said no thank you to them, we never felt put upon like at so many places we have visited.
The apartment is not large, but clean and well equipped. We used the beach BBQ almost every night to cook, what a lovely way to end a great day. I almost forgot, they supply you with free coffee"

"I just got back from 10 days at the best spot on Roatan. This was my 2nd visit and I'm already starting to plan on coming back for a 3rd time. This is now my official favorite vacation spot.
Sunset House is well situated on a beautiful stretch of beach between West End and West Bay. The house is beautifully maintained, air conditioned and has everything you'll want for your vacation, including a fantastic outdoor bar and barbecue. The grounds are gorgeous, with a lot of palm, banana and almond trees that provide plenty of shade.
Water taxis pass by regularly so you can easily travel back and forth from West End and West Bay. West End has lots of shops and restaurants, and many dive shops if you're a scuba diver or want to learn. It's an excellent location for both snorkeling and scuba diving.
West Bay is a stretch of beach at the end of the island with number of resorts and restaurants. I'd highly recommend going to The Grand Roatan at the very end by the rock cliffs. The food there was excellent and it's never very busy. It's a great place place to go for lunch and to snorkel, or for an evening meal."
