  • Best Vacation

"Eric and Karen were excellent hosts and provided extremely useful information during our stay. The house was very nice. The beaches were beautiful and only got better as you head towards West Bay. Snorkeling right from the beach was great. So much to do, so little time. To quote my daughter, "This was the best vacation ever"."

  • Great Location!

"My family of four spent 8 nights at La Casa Gaviota Azul. Before we arrived, Jami sent us a map, directions and some very helpful links and suggestions. She met us upon arrival and we really appreciated her letting us check-in early as our youngest wasn't feeling well. The accommodations were very clean, comfortable, and updated with a seaside decor. We had all the comforts of home, nothing was missing. We loved being right on the beach in a quiet area, away from the more hectic (and hot!) West End/West Bay. The trade winds were strong while we were there, so we weren't able to snorkel near the house, but the dive boats anchored right outside daily, so I'm sure it must be fabulous. I was impressed with the local care takers who picked up trash along the beach, raked, and rinsed the salt and sand off the patio and windows. They were very friendly and even dropped off a conch shell for our girls one morning. The sheltered lagoon area at Parrot Tree Plantation has cabana beds, seating areas, and canoes for rent. The pool area was nice too! It's a great place to relax if you don't feel like heading out to explore the island, and it's close to the house. If you are here, as others have suggested, be sure to check out Cal's Cantina. The food was wonderful and priced right. Zip lining into Gumbalimba Park and the dolphin encounter at Anthony's Key were also big hits with the kids. There are other recommendations in the "house manual" and several guide books for you to browse through. I would definitely recommend staying here - you won't be disappointed!"

  • Beautiful ocean and sunset views! Best view and value for what you get is well worth it!

"This beach front house is a real gem! The large deck and views along with the open concept "beachy" feel to the house made this location very special. The A/C when needed was much appreciated, but you really only need to open the doors and let the natural air through. The manager, Dave along with the owner (Lucille) who just happened to be at the property while we were there, made sure we were well taken care of. We were given a loaded cell phone with everyones number on it in case we ran into any problems. Dave even made sure there was beer in the fridge upon arrival! Our weather was perfect and we spent endless hours just staring or swimming in the ocean and watching the turquoise and green ghecko's entertain us on the deck. Having the ipod player made it just that much more enjoyable. The satelite TV even gave us Toronto channels to see what we were NOT missing.. the snow! The snorkelling off the beach also made this location fabulous. We saw many different fish, starfish, dolphins, barracuda, turtles, rays, etc each time we went out. We were even lucky enough to have been snorkelling when they let the dolphins out across the way and were given a free true dolphin swimming experience I will never forget. The restaurants are within walking distance (had many meals at Blue Bahia, Transquil Seas and Mayoka Lodge) which made this location very convenient. We went into West End a few times (by cab negotiate $3.00 for the both of you!) to do some shopping and ate at Rotissiere Chicken and Keiths BBQ at the right end of the beach for some of the best local food for $5.00! The main attraction also to Roatan night life is the fact that alot of restaurants include live entertainment at night. Our manager, Dave, plays drums in a band, and what a treat to see his different bands playing at different locations over the island. Tranquil Seas Tuesday nights were special. Bring a flashlight its about a 8 minute walk! They usually play from 7-9 which makes it perfect to eat dinner, watch some live entertainment, have a few drinks, then turn in for the evening as the hot sun makes you very tired! We ended up eating breakfast mostly at the house, just cereal, milk and toast. There is a coffee maker, so bring coffee/sugar. The kitchen itself is quaint and was glad we were eating out mostly. The locals lives around this location, and you do hear dogs and roosters alot. The locals also use the beach out front so it is not completely "private". Great time!"

It is obvious the owners of the condo have island comfort in mind and have everything anyone would need for an comfortable and delightful stay. Extremely accessible to the local restaurants, bars, dive shops, etc., everything is within walking distance. We will be visiting Villa Tranquila again very soon!"

Roatan Travel Is a Popular Getaway Option

Roatan, one of the West Caribbean Islands, is situated off the north coast of Honduras. Although relatively unknown to vacationers until the last few years, Roatan travel has quickly been gaining popularity due to the spectacular natural beauty that can be found in the local area. As a result, numerous Roatan resorts have opened, providing travelers with more options when it comes to enjoying the best that the Caribbean has to offer.

If you would like to enjoy some of the many water-based activities that are popular on Roatan, consider booking a rental near the beach so that the ocean will be just a few steps from your door. Hit the Water at Caribbean Resorts

Scuba diving is one of the reasons that so many people engage in Roatan travel. The range of scuba diving locations off the coast of Roatan is practically limitless. Whether you are a novice or a pro, you will find gorgeous reefs and interesting wrecks to discover below the depths of the water. If you prefer activities that are above the water, consider renting a boat for a day, taking a leisurely sail or engaging in some serious game fishing.
