  • Wonderful Honeymoon

"My husband and I had an amazing time staying at Al & Sandra's Spooky Channel Guest House. Everything you see in this listing is accurate and it is above and beyond what we were anticipating. We were greeted at the airport by Al who took us to the very nice grocery store right away. During the course of our 2 week stay, Al & Sandra offered numerous times to take us to the grocery store, West End, West Bay, etc. whenever they went anywhere and it was always appreciated when we carpooled. The house is nice, cozy, and very clean. Its well stocked with condiments, towels, linens, etc. When we werent spending our time at the beach in West End or West Bay, we absolutely LOVED swimming wtih the dolphins at Anthony Keys Resort, and talk to Al about deep sea fishing if that is your thing- he hooked us up with 2 memorable fishing excursions and we had a blast! Al & Sandra recommened great restaurants- you have to have the caribbean jerk chicken at Blue Parrot! We also loved utilizing the fabulous dock right out front- which was fantastic to snorkel from- lots of good fish, coral, and sea creatures to see! Whether is was lounging around on the beach or dock, or playing hours of rummy on the nice little screened in porch with a Salva Vida Beer (our favorite), Al & Sandra made our stay fantastic, and when I got sick and had to stay 3 more days, they were very helpful and understanding. They are great people to have a beer with and they are very knowledgable abotu the island. You will have a blast and I hope we can return someday to see Roatan, and Al & Sandra. Pack light and bring bug spray for the terrible sand flies is the best advice I can give you."

  • Rick and Lydia

"Wonderful, best vacation ever!! Everything you need is in this condo. Stop by grocery store after you are picked up by Ron-get salt and cooking oil. Ask Ron and Judy for any suggestions if you are looking for anything. If they invite you on a Sunday excursion-go on it, you will see beautiful beaches and eat fresh fish (delicious), on the pier (covered). We also got to ride through the mangroves and jump from a rope tied to one of the trees while on this trip. Don't need to use the air conditioner; Its cool with just the ceiling fan and windows opened. Had so many things to keep us busy that we never got to snorkel off our pier and see the starfish or the sunset from there. Condo is very private, no one bothers you. There are mangos for your picking (delicious), you can hear them falling off the trees. So much to say, could go on and on, but we truly enjoyed our stay here and plan on going back, looks like this may be our retirement home"

  • Awesome Home and Location

"Best vacation ever! We were three couples and two individuals staying in this luxurious 5 bedroom, 5 bath home right on the beach. We never felt overcrowded, even with all eight of us in the common area (although 6 in the plunge pool got a little cozy). The house had all the modern conveniences of home (including satellite TV and Wifi service) with a full kitchen with dishwasher and a laundry room (so you can pack lighter and just run a load of wash mid-week). The best part is the location, right on the beach with a private dock 20 feet from the back door. The reef and the breaking waves are about 200 yards offshore, and you can use the provided snorkeling equipment and kayaks to go out and see the beautiful corals and tropical fish. The back deck and the plunge pool make a nice place to end the day watching the sun set over the Caribbean Sea. In the morning they make a nice place to sit and listen as the island comes to life with kids going to school and fishermen boating along the reef, and all were quick with a hello and a wave. Pirates View is within a quick taxi ride of West End and Anthony’s Key for the shoping, bars and restaurants (You can walk to Anthony’s Key, but the cab ride is easier and safer considering there are no sidewalks along the road). West Bay is a slightly longer cab ride (around 10 minutes), but has more of the “resort beach” atmosphere with shops offering paddle boarding, parasailing and wind surfing along the pristine white sand."

  • I'd Go Back in a Heartbeat!

"We enjoyed an amazing week at Henrietta's peaceful and lovely home on the laid back island of Roatan. I can't say enough about the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful view and the amazing snorkeling available at this property. In addition to all of the above, we kayaked in the Bight, hiked the scenic road up to main road, and alternately relaxed and watched the calm ocean or were exhilarated by the crashing surf. It was a truly beautiful place to stay! Special thanks to Henrietta and Norma and her family for making sure we had everything we needed!"
