  • Can't wait to return!!

"We spent 2 weeks at Villa Azul with 2 other couples and had a wonderful time! The house was perfect and the location - excellent! Snorkeling the reef was awesome and the turtles were our favorites!! Well, besides Chica, the neighboring dog who is absolutely adorable (and that comes from a non-dog lover!) Peter, the owner, is great to work with and Vanessa is wonderful - helpful and fun!! We enjoyed all the neighbors and return vacationers and really look forward to seeing all of them on our return trip next year! The house had everything we needed and then some. It's easy to get into West End and West Bay and far enough away to be quiet and relaxing! But if you prefer to get a bite to eat at the Blue Parrot, which is just a short walk away, the food is great and the employees are delightful!! Perfect vacation!!"

  • Rick and Lydia

"Wonderful, best vacation ever!! Everything you need is in this condo. Stop by grocery store after you are picked up by Ron-get salt and cooking oil. Ask Ron and Judy for any suggestions if you are looking for anything. If they invite you on a Sunday excursion-go on it, you will see beautiful beaches and eat fresh fish (delicious), on the pier (covered). We also got to ride through the mangroves and jump from a rope tied to one of the trees while on this trip. Don't need to use the air conditioner; Its cool with just the ceiling fan and windows opened. Had so many things to keep us busy that we never got to snorkel off our pier and see the starfish or the sunset from there. Condo is very private, no one bothers you. There are mangos for your picking (delicious), you can hear them falling off the trees. So much to say, could go on and on, but we truly enjoyed our stay here and plan on going back, looks like this may be our retirement home"

  • Beautiful ocean and sunset views! Best view and value for what you get is well worth it!

"This beach front house is a real gem! The large deck and views along with the open concept "beachy" feel to the house made this location very special. The A/C when needed was much appreciated, but you really only need to open the doors and let the natural air through. The manager, Dave along with the owner (Lucille) who just happened to be at the property while we were there, made sure we were well taken care of. We were given a loaded cell phone with everyones number on it in case we ran into any problems. Dave even made sure there was beer in the fridge upon arrival! Our weather was perfect and we spent endless hours just staring or swimming in the ocean and watching the turquoise and green ghecko's entertain us on the deck. Having the ipod player made it just that much more enjoyable. The satelite TV even gave us Toronto channels to see what we were NOT missing.. the snow! The snorkelling off the beach also made this location fabulous. We saw many different fish, starfish, dolphins, barracuda, turtles, rays, etc each time we went out. We were even lucky enough to have been snorkelling when they let the dolphins out across the way and were given a free true dolphin swimming experience I will never forget. The restaurants are within walking distance (had many meals at Blue Bahia, Transquil Seas and Mayoka Lodge) which made this location very convenient. We went into West End a few times (by cab negotiate $3.00 for the both of you!) to do some shopping and ate at Rotissiere Chicken and Keiths BBQ at the right end of the beach for some of the best local food for $5.00! The main attraction also to Roatan night life is the fact that alot of restaurants include live entertainment at night. Our manager, Dave, plays drums in a band, and what a treat to see his different bands playing at different locations over the island. Tranquil Seas Tuesday nights were special. Bring a flashlight its about a 8 minute walk! They usually play from 7-9 which makes it perfect to eat dinner, watch some live entertainment, have a few drinks, then turn in for the evening as the hot sun makes you very tired! We ended up eating breakfast mostly at the house, just cereal, milk and toast. There is a coffee maker, so bring coffee/sugar. The kitchen itself is quaint and was glad we were eating out mostly. The locals lives around this location, and you do hear dogs and roosters alot. The locals also use the beach out front so it is not completely "private". Great time!"

  • 5 stars and then some

"What's not to like? On the beach. Hundreds of yards of shallow reef snorkeling just yards away. A private (shaded) dock with its own shower. Screened in porch. Full kitchen. Grill. Satellite TV. Kayak. Washer/Dryer. Snorkeling gear. A/C. Two of the friendliest dogs. And two of the most proactive, approachable, and accommodating property owners we've met in 14+ years of VRBOing. This property is worth every single penny, no ifs, ands, or buts. We found Roatan to be very laid back, friendly, easy to navigate, affordable, and hard to leave. Water is the main attraction--scuba, snorkel, fishing--and the reefs are full of fish, including a 5-foot Great Barracuda just off the private dock. Check out our YouTube video by typing Roatan, then KC Moe in the search bar. Our first trip to Roatan. Picked up at the airport by Sandra who took us directly to the grocery store then provided orientation on the way to the VRBO. By the end of the first afternoon Al & Sandra had loaded us with info--why taxis and buses are better than rental cars, where to eat, where to swim, where to shop, where the closest clinic was, the best fishing charter (Ruthless), etc. They were always available, always glad to be of help."
