  • Nice tropical place to visit

"We just got back. The condo was very nice to stay in. The kitchen was capable to cook up meals (bring your own spices, sugar and salt; nothing is there) , the bed was very comfortable, the internet was quick, the resort was nice. If you are going to do a lot of cooking take a taxi to the Aldons ($30) to get stocked up. If your just going to do the basics the strip mall grocery store within walking distance will suffice. (just don't buy the pudding it was spoiled) The store also has a nice breakfast, was kind of interesting eating breakfast in the middle of a grocery store. We bought bread, peanut butter, jelly, pop, liquor and snacks from them. We used the dive shop at the resort for shore dives every day, $22 a dive. It was nice to be able to dive on your own and see and go on your own pace. There is two reefs, one at about 15 to 20 feet deep about 75 yards out and then about 50 yards of sand (look for flounders and rays here) and then a reef at about 30ft that goes down to about 80ft. We seen green eels, turtles, scorpion fish, lion fish (didn't have a spear), shark, starfish, lobsters and a ton of various fish including large grouper. We did not do a boat dive, we enjoyed the shore diving so much. We ate at the numerous restaurants along the beach every night. Each displays their specials on a sign as a you walk by. Happy hour from 4p to 7p everynight. There was live music or movies on the beach to keep you entertained. At the restaurant "bite on the beach" which is on the water, they have large green eels you can see while eating dinner. The best entertainment was the beautiful sunsets every night. Talking about food, "banana donut", is a saying every visitor will recognize, he was even at the airport when we were leaving. The pool was nice to lay around during the day, so was the beach, don't forget the sunscreen. The bugs never bothered us. The shuttle from the airport and back was a nice option. We only ate breakfast one day at the resort. It was good but expensive. We took several walks in the area, hilly and hot but very nice views. Most of the time the beach was quite quiet and relaxing. It got busy a few days for a few hours when the cruise passengers showed up but it was not overwhelming. The evenings were always quiet. We would stay here again. This beach area ranks up at the top of my list, especially if you like to shore dive."

  • Playa Bonita: A Stone's Throw from West Bay Beach!

"The beauty of Playa Bonita is its location to the beautiful beach in West Bay. We rented the one bedroom master suite with its expansive picture windows and large outdoor patio. Within 2 minutes you leave the hustle and bustle of the gorgeous sand beach and turquoise water to enter your own private space. We loved our stay here! The unit is clean with updated stainless appliances and a nice indoor living space. Both bedroom and living / kitchen area have great air conditioning. My only reservation is that the bed needs to be replaced with one more comfortable. I know it all boils down to personal taste but we found it too soft. We particularly enjoyed the private beach area, a nice retreat from the busy beach. The restaurants and bars are close by as well as excellent snorkeling right off the beach. You can't go wrong staying at Playa Bonita!"

  • good vacation

"The property is beautiful. It is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. It states it sleeps 12 which it does, however it does not sit near 12 people in the living room or at the dinning room table. It does not have a safe and we felt a false sense of security with the alarm system. Jewelry even though hidden was stolen as well as some clothes. There wasn't enough cutlery, beach towels or dishes we found. We often ran out of toilet paper as well. internet and power outages were often and not necessarily the fault of the property managers. We did have a generator so we were not without power but would not have AC or use of the dryer when there was outages. The house is very clean and has a beautiful ocean view. We were disappointed to find out the beach was not ours but for the community and was a short walk away. We wanted beach front. Brad was very helpful with everything. Having a maid who is also willing to cook the odd meal for you would be nice. Brad did provide us with that but her cooking skills lacked somewhat. We do recommend this property providing the owners get a safe. Bananarama was not a very helpful dive centre and didn't appear to care about your safety, needs or whether or not the had your business. With power outages restaurants were without power as well which lead to long delays and no light whatsoever to see what you were doing. Highly recommend Free radical catamaran boat tour. Amazing food and staff. Beautiful snorkelling everywhere. The dolphin swim was awesome. Remember you get what you pay for, so book with professional companies for fishing and diving."

  • Beautiful caribbean house with amazing view.

"I really enjoyed my stay in Roatan, the house is located very close the one of the most beautiful beaches in the island: West Bay. It is equipped with everything and offers an amazing view of the tropical landscape from any part of the house."
