"I can only mirror all of the comments in previous reviews. House is exactly as advertised and is incredible. The shore diving right in front of the house was on awesome and on par or superior with the boat dives we did. We rented tanks from Subway Watersports and dove in front of the house pretty much every day. Divers, this is the place for you! Our stay unfortunately fell on two weeks of very wet weather, it rained significantly pretty much every day we were there. The week before we arrived the island received 18 inches of rain in one week. As a result of all the rain, the bugs were unbelievable. Not unique to this house, it was a very common comment at the airport as we were leaving. This level or rain is abnormal as were the level of bugs so don't be deterred. But if it has been wet on the island before your stay, bring repellent!"Guest: Blake P. Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: December 17, 2014View listing
"Beautiful turquoise water views and walking distance to West Bay Beach- perfect. The Villa was so beautiful that we often forgot that we were traveling in a developing nation. Clean, comfortable and peaceful- exactly what the Doctor ordered. In all my travels I’ve never met such gracious hosts, Carleen and Marlin, you are the treasure of the island. If we can’t book again with you- we’ll get as close as we can!"Guest: CW I. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 5, 2014View listing
"We had such a great stay at the pink orchid house! It is a great location. Very secluded without being isolated. We could easily talk to west end and west bay beach but the house was so great we spent most of our time there. The snorkeling right off the dock and out at the reef was great. We even saw a nurse shark one day when we kayaked out to the reef and we saw an octopus on the rocks walking towards west end. The house was in great condition and had everything we could possibly need. Thanks for the great stay!"Guest: Michelle M. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 5, 2014View listing
"This was my third stay at the Sunset House and I decided to stay in the back apartment above the caretakers quarters. It was great! The "Turtle Apartment" Has a full kitchen, full bath and two AC units! There is a very comfy couch that folds out into a bed in the living room too (not shown in the photos or video). My friends were staying in the main house and I didn't book until a week before my trip. The owners were very accommodating with my late booking by the way, no stress whatsoever. Now for the updates... every time I come back there are updates... i love this place... Solar Panels: The new solar panels keep the hot water hot... even outside in the outdoor shower. These are only on the main house (not the Turtle Apartment) however. New Bathroom: The owners added a new bathroom in the back part of the main house so you don't need to go inside or upstairs if your just running in from snorkeling or swimming. Makes it really convenient when nature calls. The Sailboat: I rented the 15 foot Hobie Cat one day and had so much fun I rented it again the following day. It's really easy to use and sooo much fun. It seats 4 but goes a lot faster with just 2 people... or even faster with just one person!!! New paint and rugs and shades in the main house. Very nice updates! See the video for the latest. AC: The two new AC units in the Turtle Apartment work great! They have remote controls and keep the apartment very comfy during the night. There is also a new fan in the downstairs bedroom (of the main house) fixed to the wall. Staying in the back apartment was great. I really felt like one of the locals (not a tourist) and enjoyed getting to know the neighbors. Joni the caretaker lives downstairs and is extremely helpful with whatever you need. The entire estate is very safe. My only complaint would be that I only stayed for one week... I need to stop doing this. Book the Sunset House for two weeks. TRUST ME. Overall I highly recommend the Sunset House and everything you see in the pictures and video is 100% accurate."Guest: Matt Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: October 13, 2014View listing
Roatan Travel Tips
Roatan Travel Is a Popular Getaway Option
Roatan, one of the West Caribbean Islands, is situated off the north coast of Honduras. Although relatively unknown to vacationers until the last few years, Roatan travel has quickly been gaining popularity due to the spectacular natural beauty that can be found in the local area. As a result, numerous Roatan resorts have opened, providing travelers with more options when it comes to enjoying the best that the Caribbean has to offer.
Treat Yourself to Plush Accommodations with Roatan Travel
Before you embark on Roatan travel, you might wish to consider viewing the Caribbean resorts and accommodations that are available. This will give you a good idea of the range of lodging from which you can choose and allow you to make your travel arrangements well in advance of your departure date. If you would like to enjoy some of the many water-based activities that are popular on Roatan, consider booking a rental near the beach so that the ocean will be just a few steps from your door. On the other hand, if you want to be near the vibrant part of the city, consider looking for something closer inland.
Dance the Night away at Roatan Resorts
You will not lack for entertainment options at Roatan resorts. The local Caribbean resorts definitely know how to throw a party and the biggest party night is Friday night. That is the night for bar-hopping and enjoying the local discos. If you enjoy reggae and blues music, you will love the entertainment offered at the resorts on Roatan.
Hit the Water at Caribbean Resorts
Scuba diving is one of the reasons that so many people engage in Roatan travel. The range of scuba diving locations off the coast of Roatan is practically limitless. Whether you are a novice or a pro, you will find gorgeous reefs and interesting wrecks to discover below the depths of the water. If you prefer activities that are above the water, consider renting a boat for a day, taking a leisurely sail or engaging in some serious game fishing. Regardless of how you decide to spend your time, the various Roatan resorts and Caribbean resorts will welcome you back with luxury accommodations.
