"This house is simply perfect! I am so glad the owners share their little slice of paradise! It is perfectly situated in the middle of the island of Roatan with a grocery store nearby to prepare great meals in the awesome kitchen with views that don’t quit. There are also great restaurants nearby if you don’t feel like cooking. The buoy out front is a dive spot for the island businesses that you get to enjoy at your leisure. We snorkeled twice a day from the dock and were amazed by the beauty. The property is managed by a superb local company, Blue Reef, who are at your disposal for anything you may need. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a vacation you’ll never forget, choose Far Tortuga. Prepare yourself to never want to leave!!"Guest: Debbie P. "Another great stay at Hobbie's Hideaway! Hiring Miss Betty, an islander cook with culinary skills that could challenge to be the best on the island, was the smartest decision I made! Miss Betti cooked so many amazing dishes, cleaned the kitchen after serving our family and made our family vacation less work for mom so that I could enjoy the rest and relaxation as well. Miss Laura coming in to clean up behind my pack of boys definitely took a load off of mom as well! John and Sue's hospitality and great island "home" make the stay a lot of fun for all. Between fishing and snorkeling trips with Ronald, the boat captain and property caretaker, the kayaks and paddle boat, snorkel gear and amazing beachfront, grilling on the beach, maid service, traditional island cook, massive covered deck with stereo system and big screen, great security from Taboo the island "wonderdog", the knowledgeable and personal service whether it be seclusion and privacy or fun gatherings amongst the guests, Hobbie's Hideaway is the best, smartest and reasonably priced island getaway and home away from home. You couldn't ask for better location, view, lodging and hosts than you will find at Hobbie's. John, Miss Sue, Ronald, Miss Laura and Miss Betti make vacation and island flair relaxing, fun and always a great time! I know we will keep coming back to Hobbie's Hideaway as long as John & Sue will keep letting us come!"Guest: Hottexgal Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 26, 2014View listing
"We spend 8 nights at DG Coral Vista in July 2014, and the experience was great. The house is in the perfect location; close enough to the beach (5 minutes walk) and places to eat and far enough for the noise. The ocean view from the balcony is breathtaking, making totally worth it climbing the 107 steps to get to the house (very easy to climb). The house is very comfortable; fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and 4 AC that keep it cool during the hot summer days. A highly recommended place for a family vacation, and I will totally choose DG Coral Vista instead of renting a room in the crowded and busy resorts in West Bay. It worked really well for our family and we have there everything we need to have a fantastic vacation. The owners and property manager were in permanent contact with us before and during our stay, always willing to help and assist us on whatever we need. Gabriela was fantastic in providing us with all the information we needed (arrival, transportation, good places to eat, other logistics, etc.) and in making sure that we have everything we needed to enjoy our time at DG Coral Vista. Definitely, I highly recommended place to stay if you decide to spend your vacations at West Bay, Roatan."Guest: Pablo O. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 6, 2014View listing
"Just got back from staying at Infinity Bay. Dawn the owner was extremely helpful, she checked in on us periodically to see how things were going. The condo itself has everything you need and the location of the condo is also very good. West Bay has by far the best snorkeling on the island. The pool is beautiful and the staff helpful. We have family that lives on the island so we will definitely be back!"Guest: Michelle M. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 13, 2014View listing
Roatan Travel Tips
Roatan Travel Is a Popular Getaway Option
Roatan, one of the West Caribbean Islands, is situated off the north coast of Honduras. Although relatively unknown to vacationers until the last few years, Roatan travel has quickly been gaining popularity due to the spectacular natural beauty that can be found in the local area. As a result, numerous Roatan resorts have opened, providing travelers with more options when it comes to enjoying the best that the Caribbean has to offer.
Treat Yourself to Plush Accommodations with Roatan Travel
Before you embark on Roatan travel, you might wish to consider viewing the Caribbean resorts and accommodations that are available. This will give you a good idea of the range of lodging from which you can choose and allow you to make your travel arrangements well in advance of your departure date. If you would like to enjoy some of the many water-based activities that are popular on Roatan, consider booking a rental near the beach so that the ocean will be just a few steps from your door. On the other hand, if you want to be near the vibrant part of the city, consider looking for something closer inland.
Dance the Night away at Roatan Resorts
You will not lack for entertainment options at Roatan resorts. The local Caribbean resorts definitely know how to throw a party and the biggest party night is Friday night. That is the night for bar-hopping and enjoying the local discos. If you enjoy reggae and blues music, you will love the entertainment offered at the resorts on Roatan.
Hit the Water at Caribbean Resorts
Scuba diving is one of the reasons that so many people engage in Roatan travel. The range of scuba diving locations off the coast of Roatan is practically limitless. Whether you are a novice or a pro, you will find gorgeous reefs and interesting wrecks to discover below the depths of the water. If you prefer activities that are above the water, consider renting a boat for a day, taking a leisurely sail or engaging in some serious game fishing. Regardless of how you decide to spend your time, the various Roatan resorts and Caribbean resorts will welcome you back with luxury accommodations.
