  • Wonderful!

"Our family of eight had a wonderful vacation at Fuego Del Mar. We felt like the rich and famous! The home is incredible. The pool is beyond words. We thought it was much larger in person than we anticipated from the pictures. There were several floats available. The small outside fridge held plenty of beverages. The bathroom off of the deck was convenient. We loved having the kayaks to use. Everyday we went snorkeling on the reef - about a 10 minute kayak trip. Beautiful reefs so close. The house itself is amazing. The dining room is awesome. We all thought our beds were comfortable. The decor of the house is cool. There is a true attention to detail throughout the home. We used Rosa to cook for us every evening. They were the best meals ever. We all highly recommend the shrimp masala. One day she grilled lobster for us that we bought from a man off the dock. Very fresh! The gift shop was super. Mostly pottery type items made by locals and the very talented owner, Nikki! We were pleased to help the local economy and have a couple of quality items as momentos. The staff was so attentive - candles lit every night, help bringing up groceries from the car, setting the kayaks in the water, and the list goes on. Everything about this trip was memorable. We thank the staff and Phil for making this a perfect family vacation. The only caveat is the location. You will be in walking distance of nothing. A couple of times our 20 something kids got a bit antsy and had the driver take them into town. Most of us were totally content to take in the view and lounge by the pool for the entire week. Highly recommend Fuego del Mar. Great home and great service from beginning to end!"

  • Wonderful Week at Mariposa Del Mar

"We recently stayed at Mariposa Del Mar and could have not chosen a better villa for our vacation. It was everything we anticipated plus more. The villa is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We were picked up at the airport by Phil, son of owners Bruce and Nicky, who are such a delight. During the 45 minute drive to the house, Phil filled us in on island life, specifics at the house, etc. Yes, the nearest grocery store is 20 minutes away but Phil stopped for us to stock up on drinks and snacks for the week. This property is an escape from the busy, touristy part of Roatan. Just what we anticipated and wanted! Each morning began with coffee and ended by relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the beautiful water. The sunsets seemed to get more beautiful each night. Rosa purchased the food and along with her daughter, Pearl, cooked a delicious breakfast and dinner every day. Rosa's homemade tortillas are delicious and ribs were to die for. (We are all now on a diet!) Tuesday night was pizza night, and we enjoyed meeting the guests in Fuego del Mar along with Bruce and Nicky. The meal and food cost is a bargain compared to what it would be for us to eat at a restaurant for 14 meals at home. Fausto, the caretaker, was just a cell phone call away when we needed kayaks, ice for the cooler, or anything else. The housekeepers even did our laundry! Each evening at dusk, our outdoor lights were turned on and candle were lit (thanks, Lester!). When we drove up to the gate, someone was always there to open it. EVERYTHING you could possibly need was provided. We had an amazing time at Mariposa del Mar, even with a few ants, bees, geckos, frogs, and lizards. That's just part of the experience! I fell in love with K-2, the house cat who paid a daily visit. Having the use of a car and cell phone was also very helpful. We had no problems with daytime driving but did not attempt at night. We hope to return to Mariposa del Mar one day! THANK YOU for an awesome week!"

  • A PERFECT CHOICE

"This was our third time in Roatan, we love West Bay, its wonderful beach and amenities.  In previous visits we rented homes on the beach but for our large group this time we needed a bigger property  and more privacy. The beach is crowded on cruise ship days. We saw Belvedere villas on our last visit and thought  it would be perfect for our family group. The property prime  location offers spectacular views and it is just a short walk to the beach, easy on the way down, a bit steep on the way back. However, we found this to be an invigorating exercise. The  two upscale villas are  surrounded by lush and well kept tropical gardens, very spacious, nicely and comfortably furnished with all amenities and luxury appointments. The full  kitchens in both homes are  modern and complete with all utensils and china ware. Elegant and comfortable bedrooms. Large bathrooms with granite countertops. There are several furnished terraces for outdoor living and dining. Great outdoor panoramic  decks and pool  with a lot of loungers, two furnished gazebos, outdoor kitchen with BBQ, small refrigerator, sink and a large dining table. There is even an outdoor restroom by the pool. Though we were a large group we never felt crowded both indoor and outdoor. A constant  cooling breeze made it possible to minimize using air condition, which is an additional charge here as in the majority  of rental homes on Roatan. Electricity is very expensive on the island. The manager was welcoming us on arrival, he was prompt, ready to assist and always friendly in answering our calls and requests. The on site caretaker and the cleaning girl  were very helpful always smiling, and hard working. We were very pleased with this choice and the service offered. Really a great value. We all had a wonderful time and could have not asked for more."

  • Rick and Lydia

"Wonderful, best vacation ever!! Everything you need is in this condo. Stop by grocery store after you are picked up by Ron-get salt and cooking oil. Ask Ron and Judy for any suggestions if you are looking for anything. If they invite you on a Sunday excursion-go on it, you will see beautiful beaches and eat fresh fish (delicious), on the pier (covered). We also got to ride through the mangroves and jump from a rope tied to one of the trees while on this trip. Don't need to use the air conditioner; Its cool with just the ceiling fan and windows opened. Had so many things to keep us busy that we never got to snorkel off our pier and see the starfish or the sunset from there. Condo is very private, no one bothers you. There are mangos for your picking (delicious), you can hear them falling off the trees. So much to say, could go on and on, but we truly enjoyed our stay here and plan on going back, looks like this may be our retirement home"
