  • Easily best overall value on Roatan

"As a seasoned vacationer to Roatan and West Bay, I have to believe it's hard to beat this value. The home itself is beautifully laid out, appointed and maintained. Hardwood floors throughout, super comfortable beds, and a fully screened in wraparound deck (best feature in my opinion). It's a short walk or gas powered golf cart ride to the best beach in Roatan. The bedrooms are each roomy with their own island charm. For anyone who's accustomed to traveling to more 'developed' tropical destinations there are a couple things to keep in mind. First, the power goes out regularly in Roatan. Second, it's nice to stay on the beach, but at this price, plan to live with half the space. This place is a 2 minute walk from the best beach on the island. We were warmly greeted by a couple who claimed to be the new property managers. Later they became acquaintances and we were thrilled to have them as local friends. This is a great place and an awesome value!"

  • Great house!

"This place was perfect for our group of 4. Especially loved the spaciousness of the house, the plunge pool and the outdoor shower. It was a nice short walk to West Bay Beach. Rafael was especially helpful with all the little details and Alfredo was great for a taxi contact since we only rented a car for our last few days here. Great stay and very relaxing."

  • Fun Fun Fun!

"Thanks so much for your condo. My 17 month old sister and I had a great time. The beach is so much fun and there is so much room to make sand castles and stuff, though on a couple busy days the ice cream man did roll over them. Since I'm 8 years old, I went snorkeling and I could not believe how many different fish that were on the reef which is not very far from the beach. I saw flounders, huge parrot fishes, barracuda, and stonefish. Plus we got to feed the fish a lot, both in front of the resort and further down at the end of the beach by the iron shore, where there were also iguanas. The pool was also great for my sister since she was so small, as there is a very shallow end that gave her plenty of room to play in the water. We also like walking along the beach to some restaurants and seeing the crabs in the sand. Don't forget to stop at Celeste's Island Cuisine to have breakfast with the parrots. One of the best things was doing the Dolphin Action Swim at Anthony's Key Resort. I have learned a lot about the dolphins. I hope my parents bring us back soon!"

  • Hobbie's Hideaway is a hidden gem!

"Another great stay at Hobbie's Hideaway! Hiring Miss Betty, an islander cook with culinary skills that could challenge to be the best on the island, was the smartest decision I made! Miss Betti cooked so many amazing dishes, cleaned the kitchen after serving our family and made our family vacation less work for mom so that I could enjoy the rest and relaxation as well. Miss Laura coming in to clean up behind my pack of boys definitely took a load off of mom as well! John and Sue's hospitality and great island "home" make the stay a lot of fun for all. Between fishing and snorkeling trips with Ronald, the boat captain and property caretaker, the kayaks and paddle boat, snorkel gear and amazing beachfront, grilling on the beach, maid service, traditional island cook, massive covered deck with stereo system and big screen, great security from Taboo the island "wonderdog", the knowledgeable and personal service whether it be seclusion and privacy or fun gatherings amongst the guests, Hobbie's Hideaway is the best, smartest and reasonably priced island getaway and home away from home. You couldn't ask for better location, view, lodging and hosts than you will find at Hobbie's. John, Miss Sue, Ronald, Miss Laura and Miss Betti make vacation and island flair relaxing, fun and always a great time! I know we will keep coming back to Hobbie's Hideaway as long as John & Sue will keep letting us come!"

Roatan Travel Tips

Roatan Travel Is a Popular Getaway Option

Roatan, one of the West Caribbean Islands, is situated off the north coast of Honduras. Although relatively unknown to vacationers until the last few years, Roatan travel has quickly been gaining popularity due to the spectacular natural beauty that can be found in the local area. As a result, numerous Roatan resorts have opened, providing travelers with more options when it comes to enjoying the best that the Caribbean has to offer.

Treat Yourself to Plush Accommodations with Roatan Travel

Before you embark on Roatan travel, you might wish to consider viewing the Caribbean resorts and accommodations that are available. This will give you a good idea of the range of lodging from which you can choose and allow you to make your travel arrangements well in advance of your departure date. If you would like to enjoy some of the many water-based activities that are popular on Roatan, consider booking a rental near the beach so that the ocean will be just a few steps from your door. On the other hand, if you want to be near the vibrant part of the city, consider looking for something closer inland.

Dance the Night away at Roatan Resorts

You will not lack for entertainment options at Roatan resorts. The local Caribbean resorts definitely know how to throw a party and the biggest party night is Friday night. That is the night for bar-hopping and enjoying the local discos. If you enjoy reggae and blues music, you will love the entertainment offered at the resorts on Roatan.

Hit the Water at Caribbean Resorts

Scuba diving is one of the reasons that so many people engage in Roatan travel. The range of scuba diving locations off the coast of Roatan is practically limitless. Whether you are a novice or a pro, you will find gorgeous reefs and interesting wrecks to discover below the depths of the water. If you prefer activities that are above the water, consider renting a boat for a day, taking a leisurely sail or engaging in some serious game fishing. Regardless of how you decide to spend your time, the various Roatan resorts and Caribbean resorts will welcome you back with luxury accommodations.
