  • Beyond our expecatations

"Great location on the quieter end of town, but close to everything. Beautiful large front porch with a great view of the bay. Three comfortable bedrooms. Entire house was well furnished and provided us with everything we needed, including nice beach towels. JJ and Tina, caretakers were great to work with and waiting upon our arrival to show us the house. It was an overall great rental experience."

  • Truely The Best Place To Stay On Utila

"I, and my two young adult children truly had the time of our lives. The House: Far exceeded our expectations of a beach front home. Clean, comfortable, and inviting. Large fully equipped kitchen open to the dining and living areas. Actually the entire house is fully equipped with anything that you could possibly need and then some. Outstanding ocean views from any room in the house. A beautiful wrap around deck with access from the living room and all 4 bedrooms, gives a bird’s eye view of the beach and spectacular sun rise and sunset views with the main land mountains as a back drop. One of the many outstanding features of this home is the salt water swimming pool with deck area, a stone waterfall with a resident iguana, surrounded by lush tropical fauna. The Beach: Walk out your door and you’re on your own private beach. The grounds and the beach are meticulously maintained. Hammocks, lounge chairs, a fire pit, and a small lagoon full of reef fish. If you like snorkeling, you truly won’t find a better location to stay. Maybe a 50’ walk to the water’s edge. Put your gear on and swim 50’ though the sand channel to the reef, and you are experiencing paradise under water! Outstanding reef! Dramatic views of the drop off to the ocean floor. People were paying a lot of money to dive boat companies to access that reef. We snorkeled numerous times a day, every day, for free, at our convenience, right outside our door! Location: It’s only a 15 minute walk to downtown. 5 minutes if driving. Yet when at the house, it feels like you’re on your own deserted island. Peaceful, tranquil, safe and secure. How Do You Say Priceless? Tina and JJ, that’s how. They are the resident concierges at Paradise Regained. Their knowledge, guidance, friendship and sincere willingness to make our vacation special was what really made this trip outstanding. Vacationing at any new destination can have a learning curve that can last your entire vacation wasting precious time, energy, and money. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, we felt like we were among trusted friends. They arranged numerous side trips, excursions, ATV rentals, restaurants, and anything else we may have needed. They booked a white water rafting trip for us to the mainland mountain jungle. Driver waiting @ ferry dock, amazing B&B in the mountains, rafting guide, tickets, and meals, all within 10 minutes. Try hitting that home run yourself in a third world country Priceless!"

  • Relaxing time at Pineapple House

"We just returned from a fantastic week at the Pineapple House. Dave and Trish were very helpful, as was everyone we encountered. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find a stash of board and card games which we enjoyed in the evenings after dinner. The bathrooms are spacious and the living room sofa was frequently covered by five large napping teenagers. Very comfortable! We were able to manage without AC until bedtime but it was warm when we were using the gas stove for dinner. The snorkeling off the beach and nearby dock were the best we have ever experienced and we've been to many places. The beach is a combination of sand and coral, so shoes (flip flops) are needed. The only drawback was the trash and garbage along the beach. One day after the wind changed direction refuse (including baby diapers) drifted in from the Keys on the beach in front of the house. Orlando cleaned it up late in the day. I also missed the pads on the lounge chairs. And yes, the sand flies are present. The best defense is baby oil. The sun decks on top of the dock made for beautiful sunrise and sunset viewing! Chef John prepared two excellent meals for our family that made our stay especially memorable. It was a treat to walk into the house upon our arrival to see Chef John ready to serve us. We also enjoyed a family-style meal made the house for us by Christy and Melvan from the fishing village on the Keys. Our trip to Water Cay was also a highlight. There were a few other people there when we arrived and it was peaceful. Then the party boats arrived with blaring music. My suggestion if you want a quite island experience - go early and leave before noon. Utila is a safe and beautiful island. Our family would stay at the Pineapple House again."

  • Living onto beach

"Initially we booked Blue Bayou Beach House for 5 nights. We were attracted by the location right next to the coral reefs and of course an affordable price. And we weren't disappointed. The house has a beautiful porch from where you can hum right into the corals. Just outside the house is a great wall with the most amazing corals. Lots of coral fishes. The house is a bit rustic, however charming. There is though one nuisance: Sand flies! You don't notice them, before it's too late. You don't see them, you don't feel, when they bite, but you will seen see the impact of them on your body. So be advised to take need precautions (repellents, baby oil,...). Before making the booking, we had a very positive correspondence with the owners, Deanna and Ed. Very responsive and very helpful. We felt confident throughout the engagement with Deanna and Ed. On the island we were welcomed by Mike, who is kind of a janitor, and he made sure we were put on a taxi (or rather a tuc-tuc) to take us to the beach house. Mike also made sure, everything was ok during our stay. Thanks a lot to Mike!! We enjoyed our stay at Blue Bayou Beach House very much, and we actually extended with it another 2 nights. There are lots of things to do on Utila. Definitely a place to return to...."
