The best rental in the island!
"From the moment we landed on Utila Tony and Jo were the hosts with the most! We arrived early in the morning with a warm welcome and big smile, the house was very clean with all you need to a perfect vacations, we brought our groceries in order to cook, the kitchen was fully equipped, we even cooked pizza and we had a grill night, Tony & Jo are the best Hosts, they really effort in give you everything you need, the house is great and is in a little quite neighborhood far enough of main town but not too far, we walk every day to the party at night. Fully recommended."

"We rented The Gardens for a month. The Gardens was an upgrade from where I (Bob) stayed on a previous trip. I "discovered" the Gardens through a friend who was staying there at the time and I made a mental note that when I brought Holly to Utila, this would be where we should stay. But we think Leon and Jim in their review have pretty much said it all. Tony and Jo went far and beyond the call of duty. They ensured we arrived safely when our transportation was delayed. They took us for tours around the island showing us excellent restaurants and joining us for the entertainment. In fact, in some respects they were the entertainment! They helped us see Utila as a friendly community. When I (Holly)had issues at home that needed to be addressed immediately, Jo and Toni were incredibly accommodating and wonderfully supportive . They even made my (Holly's) departure special and memorable.
Because of all our email traffic before coming we felt like we were meeting old friends on arrival. But we felt like we were leaving family when we departed."

"My husband, 12 yr old son and I were very well looked after by Sue and Angel. Sue helped us arrange transportation from Roatan by air and Angel picked us up at the airport and get some groceries for the first couple of days. We were in Utila to get our dive certification and the house was conveniently located two minutes walk from the dive center. We checked out some of the restaurants in town as well as cooked at home. We were there the week leading up to Easter weekend so the road in front of the property was probably a lot busier than it usually is. The house is well kept, quite beautiful with all the natural wood and the open air design is so wonderful. I would recommend this property and if in Utila again, would definitely be talking to Sue. Would recommend a vegetable peeler for the utensil drawer :D!!"

"This was our 2nd time staying in this house and we would definitely stay here again. The location is great! Close enough to town and the public beach to walk or ride a bike yet far enough away to be peaceful if the town is partying. There is great snorkeling right out front. The back yard is a wonderful place to lay by the water - sand, sun, shady palms, lounge chairs, a bbq and all the comforts of the house just steps away! The house is very roomy. The 2 bedrooms on each side of the house make it perfect for 2 couples or families. Add the downstairs apartment for even more room and everyone has plenty of personal space. The back deck with all its french doors, hammock and chairs is where we spent every morning and evening. The place is well stocked with pots, pans, tableware and nice towels for the bath and beach. Angel the caretaker is the best. He is full of info, can make any arrangements for you and is around as much or as little as you want. His wife is a great cook and we always make sure we hire her for at least one dinner - homemade tortillas, beans, rice and chicken bbq'd island style! We did some diving with the Utila Lodge (the best) and had some good times taking the water taxi (which is a 3 minute walk from the house with a $2 round trip price) to Coral Beach Village. It is a "must do while on Utila" and a great place to spend the day laying on the best beach on the island, snorkeling and having a great lunch and cocktails from Neptunes Beach Bar & Grill. Bottom line - any house or place will have some problems but there were none that will keep you from having a great time."
