  • Wonderful Choice!!

"We traveled with another family to Roatan for the 1st time and found these 2 houses to be the best place on the island. As there were 6 children (ages 12-17) and 4 adults, we had plenty of space to spread out. It was delightful to return to these homes and have our own personal oasis once we left the beach or sightseeing. The houses are on top of a hill, which we were able to see both coasts of the island. It is a very easy walk down to the beach but a bit of exercise to get back up. As our kids were old enough, it wasn’t a problem at all for us. Claudio was a pleasure to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. The maid/chef and pool boy were exceptional and kept the whole place immaculate. We had Linda cook for us 2 nights and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced for her to cook for 10 of us. We would strongly suggest having her cook. The entire vacation was extremely easy with the help from Claudio which included getting to the grocery store, finding a driver to sightsee (zip lining was AWESOME!!), places to eat and accommodated us for a later plane departure."

  • Relaxation and Adventure

"Guanaja is a beautiful part of the world, and Wilmont Bay is perfectly suited to experience it at it's best. The snorkeling at the door step is among the best we've experienced, as are the sunsets—two green flashes in seven days! Travel in Guanaja is mostly by boat, which is an adventure in its own right, and Jorge will happily and skillfully get you anywhere you would want to go. While you are not alone at Wilmont bay, one could hardly be call it crowded. In addition to the two Cabins, there's just a few private homes in the area. The cabins are well stocked with all the necessities for an independent traveler (full kitchen, shower, fans, even an air conditioning if you need it) and are quite comfortable. Both Cindy and Jorge are wonderful hosts, and will make every effort to ensure you have a great trip. Bonaca is a fascinating and unique city built on two small Cayes--well worth the visit included in your stay, as is the near by waterfall (not included, but quite affordable). A trip along the coast by kayak is also quite rewarding—depending on the day, you may not see another soul. This isn't the place to go if you want to lounge on the beach (sandflies will not allow that) and be served hand and foot (this isn’t a resort, which for us was a large part of the draw). But if you are looking to relax, explore a near empty coastline, and enjoy healthy reefs just steps away, this is a great choice. For us, it surpassed all expectations. P.S.—Though you can get along just fine speaking only English, at least since Mitch, many mainland Hondurans now live and work in the area. As such, we found a bit of Spanish went along way in certain circumstances. So we’d suggest, if it is not your first language, you brush up."

  • Exquisite

"We just departed on the 4th after an extraordinary week in which my wife and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary and enjoyed the marvels of this home with our two children, diving the reef, and exploring the forest. Phil and his excellent staff are at your beckon call for any queries or fabulous dining. The home is stunning and makes to most of the ocean views and starlit skies. The small villages nearby can be walked to easily for a genuine taste of Caribbean life. A boat trip out to the tinier islands (just patches of sand with fringing reef and a few trees) to the east is must. The 4 wheel drive is essential on the Roatan roads and a real benefit of the rental. The diving opportunities are truly fantastic and the entire island of Roatan is surrounded by the full spectrum of coral and sea-life varieties. If you don't dive, this is the place to learn. Sun divers on Half Moon Bay were first rate. We never return to the same spot, but will certainly never forget the wonderful week we spent here."

  • Relaxing time at Pineapple House

"We just returned from a fantastic week at the Pineapple House. Dave and Trish were very helpful, as was everyone we encountered. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find a stash of board and card games which we enjoyed in the evenings after dinner. The bathrooms are spacious and the living room sofa was frequently covered by five large napping teenagers. Very comfortable! We were able to manage without AC until bedtime but it was warm when we were using the gas stove for dinner. The snorkeling off the beach and nearby dock were the best we have ever experienced and we've been to many places. The beach is a combination of sand and coral, so shoes (flip flops) are needed. The only drawback was the trash and garbage along the beach. One day after the wind changed direction refuse (including baby diapers) drifted in from the Keys on the beach in front of the house. Orlando cleaned it up late in the day. I also missed the pads on the lounge chairs. And yes, the sand flies are present. The best defense is baby oil. The sun decks on top of the dock made for beautiful sunrise and sunset viewing! Chef John prepared two excellent meals for our family that made our stay especially memorable. It was a treat to walk into the house upon our arrival to see Chef John ready to serve us. We also enjoyed a family-style meal made the house for us by Christy and Melvan from the fishing village on the Keys. Our trip to Water Cay was also a highlight. There were a few other people there when we arrived and it was peaceful. Then the party boats arrived with blaring music. My suggestion if you want a quite island experience - go early and leave before noon. Utila is a safe and beautiful island. Our family would stay at the Pineapple House again."
