  • Beautiful Home and Spectacular Views

"What a wonderful week once again in Roatan! Thank you Mark and Penny and Property Managers for opening this beautiful home up to some many. This is our third time staying at the Gecko Loco and it feels more and more like home each time. It is so nice to come back and the house is maintained just as beautiful as the first time we were here 3 years ago. We have shared our secret with as many as possible in hopes that they too can have a wonderful vacation while enjoying so many amenities like at home. The views are spectacular from all the decks. Lying in the hammocks make it even that more enjoyable!!! We look forward to our next visit and bringing more family and friends with us!"

  • Wonderful!

"Our family of eight had a wonderful vacation at Fuego Del Mar. We felt like the rich and famous! The home is incredible. The pool is beyond words. We thought it was much larger in person than we anticipated from the pictures. There were several floats available. The small outside fridge held plenty of beverages. The bathroom off of the deck was convenient. We loved having the kayaks to use. Everyday we went snorkeling on the reef - about a 10 minute kayak trip. Beautiful reefs so close. The house itself is amazing. The dining room is awesome. We all thought our beds were comfortable. The decor of the house is cool. There is a true attention to detail throughout the home. We used Rosa to cook for us every evening. They were the best meals ever. We all highly recommend the shrimp masala. One day she grilled lobster for us that we bought from a man off the dock. Very fresh! The gift shop was super. Mostly pottery type items made by locals and the very talented owner, Nikki! We were pleased to help the local economy and have a couple of quality items as momentos. The staff was so attentive - candles lit every night, help bringing up groceries from the car, setting the kayaks in the water, and the list goes on. Everything about this trip was memorable. We thank the staff and Phil for making this a perfect family vacation. The only caveat is the location. You will be in walking distance of nothing. A couple of times our 20 something kids got a bit antsy and had the driver take them into town. Most of us were totally content to take in the view and lounge by the pool for the entire week. Highly recommend Fuego del Mar. Great home and great service from beginning to end!"

  • Peace and quiet on a private stretch of sand

"If you are looking for North American luxury with room service and the works, you'll have to go elsewhere and spend three times as much. If you want to sleep right in the middle of the dance floor with DJ throbbing, head to Infinity Bay. However, if you want peace and quiet, unfettered views of the blue green sea from your private patio and your private beach, these villas will be home. The condo is separated from West Bay proper by the rocking outcrop of Las Rocas dive resort. It has its own a stretch of private beach, with the reef a few hundred yards offshore providing decent snorkeling and calm waters. There's a bit more eel grass here than in the heavily trafficked West Bay, but the solitude was well worth it. Being apart from West Bay was a blessing. Just a few minutes walking brought us right to the action, but we could easily escape the parties and throngs of holiday revelers. The unit we rented (Bayview 3b) was not super luxurious, but was perfectly comfortable and well appointed. We never once turned on the satellite TV, but it was an option. The kitchen had literally everything one might need (bakeware, fry pans, pots, blender, to-go mugs, coffee maker, lots of filtered potable water, etc). We self-catered nearly every meal, though many restaurants sit within easy walking distance. Our unit was on the ground floor with 3 steps going down to the beach. We spent nearly all of our waking hours either in the sand and sea, or on the porch. The porch is semi-gated, has a handful of lounge chairs, along with a large glass table and 6 chairs for the table. The porch was very well shaded in the afternoons, and midday, when sun was strong, we simply moved the lounge chairs under the trees (just in front of the condo, in the sand) to get shade. We highly recommend this condo to any and all travelers. It seemed especially nice for families (we brought our a 9-month old baby and his 75 year old grandma)."

  • Best Trip Ever

"Our group was made up of kids, divers, kite boarders, young adults and parents. We could not seem to get enough time on the view deck or in the pool. With so many activities including diving, kite boarding, and shopping, it was an active week. Having a private pool was a real treat for us Alaskans. The furnishings were great, sleeping was easy with gentle fans moving air. We attempted to see the "green spot" at sunset. We did not see it but we did see a photo of it from the same deck that has a perfect view of the sun set over the sea. I highly recommend night diving to see the "string of pearls". We can't wait to go back!"
