  • This one's "just right!"

"This was our second stay at Infinity Bay, and first at this wonderful condo! A spacious layout in a perfect location with views of the pool and ocean...not too far from the beach, not too close to the bar / music for it to be too loud. Did we mention the "comfy king size bed", 2 balconies, and 2 baths both with showers! We enjoyed the full kitchen as an option to dining out everyday. The dryer was great to, well, dry things out and warm them up before our next snorkel in the aquarium just a few steps to the beach! Dana, the owner, was informative, relaxed, a pleasure to deal with, and made "the arrangements" effortless. All in all..just perfect! We look forward to our next visit to Roatan / Infinity Bay and will definitely be staying at VRBO rental #237222"

  • Heaven with sand

"This was our fourth stay at Sunset house and I wanted to stay.....forever. What a GREAT time!! I loved sitting on the porch, in the hammocks or on the dock. If the sun was too bright at sunset just close the curtains, you can still see through them and enjoy beach without the blinding sun. The house is so comfortable with king size beds; clean sheets the ability to do laundry on site, the full size kitchen, all the comforts of home including AC. We stopped at the grocery store when we arrived and bought enough food for our stay. We did plan on eating out and were not disappointed with the selection of restaurants and they employ the nicest wait staff. The Thai restaurant was my favorite. The chicken dishes tasted so fresh and cooked to perfection. I had many of the chicken dishes along with the vegetables (many locally grown) but I still ate healthy. The fresh fish, shrimp never get old and are prepared by cooks who know how to cook. The breakfast burritos where the best ever. I had lots of exercise between the swimming, snorkeling, renting the sail boat, using the various floatation devices (water saddle was my favorite) and just walking. The horseshoe pits are a nice addition and we would have played more but there was just so much to do. I would be remiss not to mention the sunsets, we sat out on the dock many a night just waiting for the sun to set so we could take pictures and admire Gods handy work. The way the moon lays in the sky is at such a different angle than at home. Yonny (the caretaker) was very helpful, he set us up with a fishing trip and we shared the fish with him. The MahiMahi was delicious. The various native birds delight me every time. We had TV but didn't bother watching it, the internet for checking emails, books to read and board games to play. The bar and BBQ on the beach are great you don't have to upstairs to have dinner and a drink. Taking a shower before even coming upstairs was a nice amenity. Be sure to dip your feet in the water dish before coming inside to keep those pesky sand fleas off your feet and out of the house. Mark has done a wonderful job at making this place not only a home away from home but a home to back to."

"I would like to thank Bruce for doing a great job of describing everything to a T. We were very pleased with the location and convience of the condo. Security was on site and we felt very safe. I highly recommend this condo for small families or a romantic getaway for a couple."

  • Exquisite

"We just departed on the 4th after an extraordinary week in which my wife and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary and enjoyed the marvels of this home with our two children, diving the reef, and exploring the forest. Phil and his excellent staff are at your beckon call for any queries or fabulous dining. The home is stunning and makes to most of the ocean views and starlit skies. The small villages nearby can be walked to easily for a genuine taste of Caribbean life. A boat trip out to the tinier islands (just patches of sand with fringing reef and a few trees) to the east is must. The 4 wheel drive is essential on the Roatan roads and a real benefit of the rental. The diving opportunities are truly fantastic and the entire island of Roatan is surrounded by the full spectrum of coral and sea-life varieties. If you don't dive, this is the place to learn. Sun divers on Half Moon Bay were first rate. We never return to the same spot, but will certainly never forget the wonderful week we spent here."

Honduras Travel Tips

Seasons to Visit Honduras Vacation Rentals

The climate in Honduras varies in the different regions. While it is generally tropical, the weather is cooler and more temperate in the higher mountain regions. Generally, you can wear lightweight cotton clothing all year long. You will need a good rain jacket especially if you are traveling in the wet season. Make sure that you also have one or two warmer items of clothing if you plan to visit the highlands. Typically, the wet season is from May to October. Tropical storms have been known to blow across from the Caribbean, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The north coast is one of the most popular tourist regions; however, temperatures can get very hot and visitors are advised to use plenty of sunscreen and wear hats. The most popular travel season is during the drier months which are from November through April.

Just outside of the city on one of the hilltops is a relatively new monument known as the Christ of the Picacho. From the monument site, you can enjoy great views out over the city. Another city that has well-preserved colonial architecture is the former capital of Honduras, the city of Comayaguan. Here you can roam the cobbled streets, visit the town plazas and see the quaint white-washed houses. Each year for Easter, there is a week-long celebration that is full of cultural festivities. If you have an interest in the ancient Mayan culture, one place you must visit is Copan. Getting to Honduras Beach Houses

Honduras is located in Central America just to the north of Nicaragua and east of Guatemala. The capital city Tegucigalpa is located in the southern region of the country. The nation's main airport is located just three miles to the southeast of Tegucigalpa. There are daily scheduled flights that operate to Miami in the U.S. For travelers staying in other parts of North America and Europe, your best flight options will be to get a connection via Miami. If you will be visiting the coastal regions, you can get a connecting domestic flight as this is the most convenient way to travel around the country.
