"Our first time to Roatan & we loved our stay. Our condo was very clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. It is located on the quiet end of the resort and we enjoyed peaceful early mornings and evenings out on the balcony. Julie made it so easy for us by answering all our questions and additionally giving us lots of info on activities and places to eat. She is a wealth of knowledge concerning the island and quick to respond to questions you might have. The resort is beautiful and well kept with plenty of places to lay by the pool or lounge on the beach. The staff is especially friendly and helpful and quick to respond if we needed anything. My husband used Infinity Divers at the resort and thought they were fantastic. The snorkeling in front of resort was excellent also. We enjoyed it so much that we will be coming back!! Thank you again Julie!"

"Great house! Amazing view from every room and the porch! I loved relaxing in a hammock on the porch or watching the Dolphins next door. The dock makes it so easy to snorkel out to the reef (or kayak). The water is beautiful and the sea life is a abundant. The bed is very comfortable and dressed in nice linens with comfy pillows. The kitchen has everything utensil you could possibly need. The new couch is comfortable and attractive. We had a vehicle for easy access around the island. Jim was amazing and always available if needed. We will definitely return to this beautiful property!"

"Initially we booked Blue Bayou Beach House for 5 nights. We were attracted by the location right next to the coral reefs and of course an affordable price. And we weren't disappointed. The house has a beautiful porch from where you can hum right into the corals. Just outside the house is a great wall with the most amazing corals. Lots of coral fishes. The house is a bit rustic, however charming. There is though one nuisance: Sand flies! You don't notice them, before it's too late. You don't see them, you don't feel, when they bite, but you will seen see the impact of them on your body. So be advised to take need precautions (repellents, baby oil,...). Before making the booking, we had a very positive correspondence with the owners, Deanna and Ed. Very responsive and very helpful. We felt confident throughout the engagement with Deanna and Ed. On the island we were welcomed by Mike, who is kind of a janitor, and he made sure we were put on a taxi (or rather a tuc-tuc) to take us to the beach house. Mike also made sure, everything was ok during our stay. Thanks a lot to Mike!! We enjoyed our stay at Blue Bayou Beach House very much, and we actually extended with it another 2 nights. There are lots of things to do on Utila. Definitely a place to return to...."

"Great location on the quieter end of town, but close to everything. Beautiful large front porch with a great view of the bay. Three comfortable bedrooms. Entire house was well furnished and provided us with everything we needed, including nice beach towels. JJ and Tina, caretakers were great to work with and waiting upon our arrival to show us the house. It was an overall great rental experience."

Honduras Travel Tips

Seasons to Visit Honduras Vacation Rentals

The climate in Honduras varies in the different regions. While it is generally tropical, the weather is cooler and more temperate in the higher mountain regions. Generally, you can wear lightweight cotton clothing all year long. You will need a good rain jacket especially if you are traveling in the wet season. Make sure that you also have one or two warmer items of clothing if you plan to visit the highlands. Typically, the wet season is from May to October. Tropical storms have been known to blow across from the Caribbean, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The north coast is one of the most popular tourist regions; however, temperatures can get very hot and visitors are advised to use plenty of sunscreen and wear hats. The most popular travel season is during the drier months which are from November through April.

Another city that has well-preserved colonial architecture is the former capital of Honduras, the city of Comayaguan. Here you can roam the cobbled streets, visit the town plazas and see the quaint white-washed houses. Each year for Easter, there is a week-long celebration that is full of cultural festivities. If you have an interest in the ancient Mayan culture, one place you must visit is Copan. Honduras is located in Central America just to the north of Nicaragua and east of Guatemala. The capital city Tegucigalpa is located in the southern region of the country. The nation's main airport is located just three miles to the southeast of Tegucigalpa.
