  • Wonderful Choice!!

"We traveled with another family to Roatan for the 1st time and found these 2 houses to be the best place on the island. As there were 6 children (ages 12-17) and 4 adults, we had plenty of space to spread out. It was delightful to return to these homes and have our own personal oasis once we left the beach or sightseeing. The houses are on top of a hill, which we were able to see both coasts of the island. It is a very easy walk down to the beach but a bit of exercise to get back up. As our kids were old enough, it wasn’t a problem at all for us. Claudio was a pleasure to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. The maid/chef and pool boy were exceptional and kept the whole place immaculate. We had Linda cook for us 2 nights and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced for her to cook for 10 of us. We would strongly suggest having her cook. The entire vacation was extremely easy with the help from Claudio which included getting to the grocery store, finding a driver to sightsee (zip lining was AWESOME!!), places to eat and accommodated us for a later plane departure."

  • A must stay in paradise!

"We just returned from a week in beautiful Roatan! This house is off the beaten path, which isn't often mentioned in reviews. You will find a private beach, as well as a bar, all within walking distance! The caretaker Pichi was beyond awesome! This guy will do anything he can to help - day or night - it was like having our own personal concierge! From taking us out snorkeling on his boat, taking us grocery shopping, serving as a tour guide and transportation specialist, Pichi is truly a top-notch caretaker! One thing to keep in mind is that you are in fact in the jungle and yes, there will be bugs! We found that Sawyer bug repellents are the best out there! Rocky and Rambo, the two resident perros, are more than welcoming of all guests! We never had to turn on the a/c units, but the layout of the house is very open and airy and it kept the house quite cool at night. We recommend buying a couple bags of ice to put in the freezer for chilled drinks, but buying bottled water wasn't necessary as Pichi kept plenty of 5 gallon water jugs available for the water dispenser. While we were in Roatan, Pichi acquired a van and he offers his transportation services at a rate lower than the other companies on the island with a driver you know and trust! We rented a scooter and a motorcycle for the week from Captain Van's on West End, and we highly recommend doing the same! In our opinion, it is the best way to see the island and we didn't find any place that the scooter couldn't go! There is no better feeling than falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean and in Roatan, there is no better place to experience that than this property!"

  • great snorkling/beautiful condo

"This was our first trip to Roatan and we can't wait to go back! Beautiful barefoot beach with many dining options on the beach. My luggage was lost by the airline so I bought a bathing suit, coverup, flipflops (barely got any use), and an island dress. This was seriously all I needed! The best snorkling we've ever done just off the beach. I will suggest if you rent equipment, Infinity has a dive shop with good snorkel gear but keep it for the whole week. We returned ours the first day and wanted to rent again but they ran out of stock. Local boys run a water taxi called "Joy Ride" Davie and Quentin are super kind and fun! They took us on an island tour (from the water) and to a place to snorkel called Spooky Channel. This was the most awesome experience ever! Saw sea turtles and schools of fish in the 100's! So beautiful! Andrea's condo was perfect for 2! Nice and quiet in the back of the complex, completely out of earshot of the pool and bar. She was great to work with and answered our questions quickly. Infinity was the most luxurious condo's on the beach; great pool, great bar, great food. No need for all inclusive there are lots of fun places to eat and drink along the beach. My only other suggestion is to go for more than 1 week:)"

  • Island Paradise

"Great house! Amazing view from every room and the porch! I loved relaxing in a hammock on the porch or watching the Dolphins next door. The dock makes it so easy to snorkel out to the reef (or kayak). The water is beautiful and the sea life is a abundant. The bed is very comfortable and dressed in nice linens with comfy pillows. The kitchen has everything utensil you could possibly need. The new couch is comfortable and attractive. We had a vehicle for easy access around the island. Jim was amazing and always available if needed. We will definitely return to this beautiful property!"

Honduras Travel Tips

Seasons to Visit Honduras Vacation Rentals

The climate in Honduras varies in the different regions. While it is generally tropical, the weather is cooler and more temperate in the higher mountain regions. Generally, you can wear lightweight cotton clothing all year long. You will need a good rain jacket especially if you are traveling in the wet season. Make sure that you also have one or two warmer items of clothing if you plan to visit the highlands. Typically, the wet season is from May to October. Tropical storms have been known to blow across from the Caribbean, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The north coast is one of the most popular tourist regions; however, temperatures can get very hot and visitors are advised to use plenty of sunscreen and wear hats. The most popular travel season is during the drier months which are from November through April.

Another city that has well-preserved colonial architecture is the former capital of Honduras, the city of Comayaguan. Here you can roam the cobbled streets, visit the town plazas and see the quaint white-washed houses. Each year for Easter, there is a week-long celebration that is full of cultural festivities. If you have an interest in the ancient Mayan culture, one place you must visit is Copan. The Copan Ruins Archeological Park houses some impressive structures which give testament to the advancement of the Mayan culture. There is an Acropolis, the Court of the Heiroglyphic Stairway, and the Great Plaza.

The beaches in Honduras are legendary and the Bay Islands are a tropical paradise. The coral reefs off the Bay Islands offer excellent scuba diving and snorkeling.

Getting to Honduras Beach Houses

Honduras is located in Central America just to the north of Nicaragua and east of Guatemala. The capital city Tegucigalpa is located in the southern region of the country. The nation's main airport is located just three miles to the southeast of Tegucigalpa.
