  • Beautiful people that is all I can say!

"Well I just don't know what to say other than thank you to all the wonderful people at Escameca Ecolodge. We were blown away by the amazing peacefulness and the priceless view. Being able to hear those crashing waves on the beach breaking the tranquil silence of the serene location was something wonderful. But the most spectacular part of the stay was the people who run and take care of the place. From Gonzalo, Grace and Donald to the owner Tyson and even the German girl and her husband who lived nearby. They all really came to my aid when my wife became deathly ill from a place we ate at in Panama City a few days earlier. We wished we could have stayed the whole time at this place but my wife's condition deteriorated so badly that we had to be transported to the local clinic for her to receive treatment. The staff at the Ecolodge helped me carry my wife to the car and the German family contributed their expertise in these situations and recommended I get my wife to a hospital quickly. I mean all of the people including Tyson the owner just dropped what they were doing to hang with me the whole day and help me with getting everything I needed for my wife. It was just fabulous and I just want to say that you all are wonderful human beings. If you want to stay somewhere that is truly breathtaking and you know that the people will be right there for you I suggest you stay here."

  • All reviews are true! Stunning, private and very comfortable designer home

"We totally agree with all reviewers. Beforehand we were a little worried if staying in the middle of nowhere as two women would be the smartest thing, but no worries here. Just go, get a 4WD and enjoy! The house and the community is stunning and felt safe. Tons of birds, great rough roads and very private. We checked out some of the other homes in the community and found Casa Mono to be the most appealing due to the large open air set-up and great view from the infinity pool. Gabby at Re:Max is the best and emailing with Carol to set up a stay in short notice was a breeze. We wholeheartedly recommend this home and Nicaragua to all our friends. It's a wonderful and beautiful country with super friendly people and adventures. Gabby connected us with Scott, our patient surf instructor/photographer, great guy! Playa Remanso is perfect and super quiet for beginners. When you like horse riding go on a ride through beautiful with Rancho Chilamante: http://ranchochilamate.com. We'll be back!"

  • Wonderful Getaway

"Casa Tranquila was a wonderful place to stay for 5 nights. I work a ton and just needed to relax.....this was the perfect place for it. Los Cardones Eco Surf Lodge is so close, had excellent food and we sat in their hammocks during the hot parts of the afternoon enjoying breezes from the ocean. The house is very roomy and we felt very safe. The most best part was the AMAZING property manager - Janelle. She greeted us when we got in late at night, gave us an orientation to the house, and was very responsive when we needed things (e.g., we ran out of propane on night). I can't say enough good things about how welcome Janelle made us feel. And Casa Tranquila was awesome - my only request would be that they put in A/C.....it was hot but we survived under the ceiling fans in each room + hung out at Los Cardones during the hot times of the day. I look forward to returning with my daughter."

  • condo review

"The view from the condo was beautiful! The condo was neat and clean. There was a plumbing problem while we were there, but Christine took care of it right away. The only problem we had was a barking dog across the street but you have to expect this in a residential neighborhood. The driver Vladimire was a tremendous help with the language and getting us around. We would definitely go back again someday."

Nicaragua Travel Tips

Sporting and Leisure Activities near Nicaragua Vacation Rentals

In the area around San Juan Del Sur, surfing is a popular pastime. The swells in Nicaragua are so legendary that they attract surfers from all over the world. Kite surfers and windsurfers can also enjoy the wind and waves. There are several schools along the coastline that provide equipment and lessons if you want to give these sports a try.

Fishing charters are widely available for those that enjoy deep sea and sport fishing. If you want to hook game fish such as marlin, sailfish or tuna, you will want to head out with an experienced skipper who can take you to the best fishing spots. If you prefer something a little more leisurely, a great way to spend an afternoon is on a snorkeling cruise. Sail out of the bay and anchor off one of the many reefs. Then spend the afternoon snorkeling and enjoy the colorful underwater world. If you hold a scuba diving qualification, there are several dive schools and charter companies that will be able to take you out to explore the many reefs. You can even upgrade your certification or sign up for a specialty course during your stay.

If you enjoy lush foliage and birding and don’t mind heights then a treetop canopy tour in the rainforest is a great daytime excursion. Travel between platforms on a zip line and experience a unique bird’s-eye view of your surroundings. Local outfitters are well equipped and ensure that you complete the excursion safely. Another popular way to explore the interior is on a horseback excursion.

Getting to Nicaragua Villas

One of the main points of entry into Nicaragua is Managua International Airport. The airport hosts a wide number of leading North American airlines as well as various other regional airlines. There are frequently scheduled commercial flights from most major hubs in the U.S.

Seasons to Visit Nicaragua Oceanfront Rentals

The peak travel season for surfers is between the months of May and November, when the swell conditions are at their best. Unfortunately, this is also the heavy rainy season. Showers are typically short-lived but downpours can be heavy. If traveling overland in areas where there are only dirt roads, you will need an all-terrain vehicle. In general, a tropical climate dominates which results in consistently warm temperatures all year long. A popular time for beach lovers is between the months of December and April. Nicaragua provides the perfect escape for those from the Northern Hemisphere who want to get away from icy climates for a while. This is also traditionally the windy season so you may need to hold onto your beach hat.

San Juan Del Sur Vacation Rentals in Nicaragua

San Juan Del Sur is one of the most popular beach destinations in Nicaragua. There are many stylish homes and villas that are available for rent. Many homes have magnificent views out over the bay and large open decks where you can dine in the evening or suntan during the day. Many have beautiful lush tropical gardens, complete with a few local inhabitants such as colorful parrots and monkeys. Many of the homes include a hospitality service where housekeepers will cook, clean and even do the grocery shopping for you. On request, they can also get in touch with local tour operators and arrange sightseeing excursions and transportation for you. On days when you are feeling lazy, you can head down to the beach or relax poolside. Hammocks strapped in the trees provide perfect places to finish reading your favorite book. The living areas are generally spacious and comfortably furnished. Entertainment centers are great for when you don’t feel like heading outdoors.
