  • Beautiful Home, Great View & Staff and Excellent Owners

"Casa Miramar is truly a retreat full of beautiful views and amazing staff. The entire staff have amazing servant's hearts. The closeness to the city is a huge plus if you do not have a vehicle. The neighbors are friendly and respectful of your privacy. The house is well equipped with great appliances and of course the WiFi worked well especially for my teenage daughter. At last, we felt blessed by God staying at the Pattison's home. If you want to be blessed, you MUST stay at this home!"

  • Excellent Week!!!!

"I planned a trip here for my birthday with my partner and 6 other gay men. I was looking for a low key beach vacation where we could relax and do nothing much other than that. I discovered Nicaragua 365 and sent an email through the website for a house that would accommodate all of us. The first house I chose was not available for our dates but very quickly David and James responded with this house which was equally nice. From that point on David and James took care of everything. We also decided to take advantage of the package that included two meals a day. We arrived at Managua Airport late on Saturday morning. The airport is very small which is great because you can get through security quickly. I have to be honest that we were a bit nervous about how we would be received. We are 8 gay men and we weren't sure how we'd be treated, we were pleasantly surprised how we were welcomed. We walked outside and were greeted by the driver who took us to the house. The drive was about 2.5 hours but it was fine because none of us had been to Nicaragua and it was nice to see the country. We arrived at the house and Cecilia was there already cooking. We unpacked and had a cocktail and started relaxing right away. James stopped by and made sure we had everything we needed. The next day David came by to introduce himself and schedule activities for us. Fortunately he was there because one in our group was stung by a sting ray and David drove him to the clinic right away (all turned out fine). On Wednesday we took a day trip to Granada and went zip lining. David came along with us and made sure we saw the highlights of Granada. We went on a nice boat ride, stopped at an island for drinks and then went to an excellent dinner. I can tell you this was one of the best vacations I have been on. The house was perfect, the staff was incredible and the location was exactly what I was looking for. It was clean, safe, beautiful and relaxing. Thank you to David, James, Cecilia, Juanita, and everyone else who made my birthday vacation one to remember."

  • Booking next year's trip already!

"Just returned from a 1 week stay at Casa Mana and I'm already planning next year's trip. Janelle, the property manager, was super helpful in helping our group arrange transportation, a rental car, and groceries for the house when we arrived. She periodically checked in with us to make sure we were 100% satisfied, which we definitely were! The house is beautiful and is located a rock's throw from the Pacific Ocean. We spend almost every evening on the rooftop deck reminiscing about our multiple surfs each day and gazed at the stars as a pleasant breeze kept us cool. Nearby Los Cardones Ecolodge (walking distance) was a hot spot for us as the food was out of this world and the hospitality from the staff was amazing. Everyone there greeted us with a genuine smile and made sure we always had a cold Toña in our hands. The surf out front was fun all day long and it was nice to be able to take a mid-day nap at Casa Mana with the AC on blast. Lots of memories were made at Casa Mana this past week and we can't wait until our next trip down!"

  • A Surfer's Paradise ... and a Beautiful, Simple Home

"We LOVED Casa Maderas y Olas!! We stayed there for 1 month during July of 2014, and found it to be very clean, simple, and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the hard wood floors that kept sand to a minimum and cleaning a breeze. The washer was nice to have since we didn't bring much with us and needed to keep our clothes clean also. The king size beds were comfy and we liked that the two bedrooms were on opposite ends of the house for privacy. The large balcony overlooking the trees was a great place to relax after surfing, and the hammocks were awesome! Plenty of room for everyone to spread out! The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies for cooking, so we were able to save a lot of money cooking at home. Conveniently located only 20min from San Juan Del Sur, we enjoyed going into town for groceries and nightlife when the mood struck, as well as walking to our favorite pizza place- Munchies Bluues, which has the BEST pizza and atmosphere in Nica! For surfers, the location is perfect. Very close to Playa Maderas, offering waves for all levels of surfing, and very consistent surf. Small eateries are also there, so it was nice to grab some snacks and drinks after a great session. Overall, it was one of the best places we've stayed in our travels throughout Central America, and we can't wait to come back again soon ! Tony (property manager) was very helpful, answering any questions we had and making sure we were comfortable, and the caretaker that lived on property was VERY nice and helpful also. He even let us share his power outlet to charge our computers, as well as store our cold items in his refrigerator when the power went out occasionally (very common in Nicaragua). Excellent surf within walking distance... a comfy and beautiful home to relax in... in a welcoming and safe country. Who could ask for more?!! Casa Maderas y Olas?? We loved it!"
