  • Great B & B - Amazing Garden Cafe

"My husband and I spent 4 days at La Alcoba in Granada. Overall it was a great experience. The breakfast at the adjoining Garden Cafe was fantastic! Really fresh food with great menu choices. The staff were friendly and the cafe was very quaint and clean. The center courtyard was relaxing to just sit and drink some excellent Nicaraguan coffee. The room itself is very large with high, wooden ceilings. There is a mini fridge and a coffee maker with complimentary coffee....we used it every morning! Although the room is not air-conditioned, there are ceiling fans and the air circulation kept the place cool. Also, there was no hot water in the shower....again...not an issue as the water was never really "cold" and with the heat, you were refreshed to have a cool shower! The only negative I have to note has to do with the location. It was both a blessing and a curse. It is very close to the Central Park of the city as well as the main thoroughfare....but because of that, it was noisy. There were cars, motorcycles, people, horse drawn carts going through the streets into the night. We tend to rise early and go to bed early so the level of activity right outside our door made this a bit challenging! So overall an excellent choice for anyone wanting to check out all that Granada and the surrounding area has to offer."

  • Fabulous Accomodations!

"My husband and I stayed a month at Casa Anita and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Casa Anita was a perfect setting to experience Granada. The home itself is beautiful and the location could not have been better. We loved the fact that you can easily walk everywhere and the nearby market and grocery store was a real plus! The kitchen accomodated our desire to cook and we loved a dip in the pool to cool off in the afternoons. The restaurants in Granada are terrific with our favorites being Pita Pita and The Garden Cafe. The nearby bus stop was great as we ventured to Masaya on the "chicken bus" several times during our stay. For those with extra time, a morning trip with La Esperanza, a local NGO, is an eye-opening experience and provides an insight into the needs of the rural folks. We fell in love with this lovely town and Casa Anita provides a wonderful setting in which to enjoy the culture of Granada!"

  • A Colonial Adventure

"Hi, I stayed at Casa Gallo recently with two friends and a four-year old. The house is gorgeous with wonderful amenities.(books, music, hammocks, gardens, rocking chairs, AC's, phones, laundry room, chaise lounges, filtered water, etc.) Jose and Maria-Elena were so friendly and accommodating. The day we arrived they were at the house waiting to greet us. Every afternoon ,we used the pool which was wonderful especially with a youngster. One morning Maria-Elena made us a delicious breakfast that lasted several days. Jose took me to Mombacho Volcano and we even saw a sloth in the forest. The location is perfect and a short walk to the center of Granada. I would highly recommend this home for everyone. Don't miss a visit to the tortilla lady in Parque Central or a class at the Chocolate Museum down the street. The lady gets there around 5:00 and makes the most delicious tortillas with Nica cheese. It was our appetizer almost every night. The photos on the website is exactly what you get. Thank you Richard and Trudy for sharing your beautiful home! • Outstanding Casa.

"We cannot recommend Casa Flor de Luna highly enough. Our stay helped to make our six days in Granada an exceptional experience. The Casa is well located, a couple of blocks off of the main road coming in from Managua and a 10-15 minute walk to Parque Central and all Granada restaurants and attractions. The house includes a garage which was ideal for our rental car. The main floor of the house has a spacious salla/living room, a well appointed kitchen with all necessary appliances and utensils. There are two very spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds (2 upstairs and 1.5 downstairs). It also includes three bathrooms with large shower stalls in each. All of the rooms have ceiling fans. The two bedrooms have AC but we never used it. We found we could sleep and relax comfortably with just the fans. We were frugal with lights and always ensured electrical items were off / unplugged unless we were using them. Our cost for electricity for 6 days was $8.37 but beware if you use AC and leave things on! The house is equipped with cable tv and Internet and very reliable wifi. The pool is a fantastic asset in the heat of Granada. It is very private (in the enclosed courtyard) and while small, it is ideal for a cooling dip. The decor is comfortable and the lifestyle wonderfully Nica. You are also only a few blocks walk to two grocery stores that, while expensive by local standards, offer a wide range of amenities including fresh fruit, veggies, meat, bread, cold cuts, cheese, wine and beer. What more do you need? The local agents, Heydi and Eric, are friendly, helpful and nearby. The cleaner and pool guy, Jenny and Javier respectively, are also friendly and efficient. This is a wonderful Casa and will help to make your stay in Granada special."
