  • Home away from home

"I have traveled to Granada, Nicaragua every summer for the last four years and have rented a variety of properties for my group of 13. This past summer I finally found the perfect location for my group of teens. I spent 4 weeks at the Casa la Gran Sultana and I felt like I was home. The house is perfectly located on a quiet side street yet everything is within a few blocks walking distance, the Central Market or the more upscale grocery store, the main square, the tourist street, the lake and many other attractions. The house is spacious with plenty of room for our group to gather together for meetings and activities or to find solitude from each other. I would recommend this house for large groups looking for a safe, comfortable and convenient location. La Casa la Gran Sultana will be my "home away from home" when I travel to Granada."

  • Fabulous, easy and convenient

"The house was wonderful! We stayed with a total of 7 adults and had a great time. The pool was a great amenity, internet fairly consistent (localized to the rooms) and the outdoor living space was such a treat! Also - the house was really clean and maintained - and the staff that manages was super efficient. The house is in the center of the city too, so very close to sites, restaurants, and shopping. Would recommend this to anyone !"

  • Excellent house and great experience

"Nice big and well maintained home. All things in order. The caretakers were awesome and helpful. Big swimming pool and nice backyard fruit forest. The owner and the caretaker are really nice people. Its about 5 miles from main Granada but nice and quiet. Many many rooms in this huge house. Air conditioners in almost every room, although we did not have to use it. The only downside was that we did not spend enough time in the home to enjoy it. But the kids loved the pool even in the morning."

  • Exceeded expectations!

"La Alcoba was the perfect choice for our week long stay in Granada. The owners were very helpful and kind and their staff were so friendly. The food at the Garden Cafe was amazing and fresh. So many choices! The little touches in the room were appreciated: complimentary water in the fridge, coffee, wine, beer and soda available in the room at very reasonable prices. The decor is lovely and there was plenty of room to store your things and not be tripping over luggage. The room is in a perfect central location near restaurants and shopping. Granada is small enough to get around on foot but the bikes provided help to go a little further. I will mention a few things people should know about but they did not affect our enjoyment of our room. There is no hot water for showers but it was quite warm and the cool shower was refreshing. As stated the air conditioner is only meant to cool the space near the bed and it does that just fine. The only issue is that there is no drainage hose to the outside so we had to drain the unit during the night. The owners provided us with a pail for this purpose and that worked fine. We were out all day enjoying the sights so we only used the aircon at night for sleeping. I would recommend this guestroom to anyone who wishes to experience a beautiful colonial house with friendly people to interact with! Restaurants we enjoyed-The Garden Cafe, El Zaguan, La Estrada, Cafe de los Sonrisas(staffed by deaf mutes), El Garaje. Things to see-Monbacho volcano, Masaya volcano, laguna de Apoyo, Las Isletas, local market, the cemetery, Seeing hands blind massage(all employees are blind), and much more. Hasta luego!"
