"Hi, I stayed at Casa Gallo recently with two friends and a four-year old. The house is gorgeous with wonderful amenities.(books, music, hammocks, gardens, rocking chairs, AC's, phones, laundry room, chaise lounges, filtered water, etc.) Jose and Maria-Elena were so friendly and accommodating. The day we arrived they were at the house waiting to greet us. Every afternoon ,we used the pool which was wonderful especially with a youngster. One morning Maria-Elena made us a delicious breakfast that lasted several days. Jose took me to Mombacho Volcano and we even saw a sloth in the forest. The location is perfect and a short walk to the center of Granada. I would highly recommend this home for everyone. Don't miss a visit to the tortilla lady in Parque Central or a class at the Chocolate Museum down the street. The lady gets there around 5:00 and makes the most delicious tortillas with Nica cheese. It was our appetizer almost every night. The photos on the website is exactly what you get. Thank you Richard and Trudy for sharing your beautiful home! • Awesome Home for a large group or wanting company over! :)

"Just wanted to say "Thank you" for everything! We truly enjoyed our vacation home... The house was great and Julio/Carmen were both so helpful. When we arrived Julio gave us a tour of the home and said if we needed anything to call him. Carmen had the house nice and clean everyday we got home. If you want to rent a vacation home make sure it has a pool. Granada can get pretty hot and its so refreshing to jump in after a day of activities. The house feels safe and so we did not worry about leaving our stuff there. The only thing is that we did come across two bats but that's common in Nica homes. We are not sure how they got in so make sure you have the door from upstairs closed at all times. All and all, I would stay here again and all my family would recommend it. :)"

  • True Sanctuary

"We have been to Nicaragua on several occasions. Since 2010 we have had various family members, relatives and friends stay multiple times at Casa Sonrisas. This desired destination keeps offering more each time, and the home owner has really perfected the quality of service she provides to her guests. Most recently I was in Granada in February of 2014 with a group of 5 visitors. This was my second stay at Casa Sonrisas and my expectations once again were exceeded. Upon arriving we settled in very quickly, Casa Sonrisas has a way of making one feel as if you've come home again. This elegant colonial home is charming and extremely spacious. The rooms are clean and furnished with tasteful, unique pieces and comfortable beds. There is a fantastic collection of fascinating original art throughout the home. The bathrooms are well maintained, clean with hot/cold showers. The kitchen is very well equipped and a favorite gathering place. We enjoyed typical Nicaraguan meals prepared by the very courteous housekeeper Carmen. She is very friendly and also does a fantastic job keeping the home clean and tidy. The location of this home is excellent, majestically nestled in a corner and conveniently within a short walking distance to the main square and "La Calzada", offering the opportunity to experience local arts and culture, delicious eats, people and the best of what Nicaragua has to offer. Every Friday-Sunday night staring at 6pm a street food kiosk sets up opposite corner of the home, be sure to try the tacos, to experience Nicaraguan street food at its best! The pool is alluring, especially after a fun filled day taking in the sites in Granada. The owner is extremely helpful, professional and accommodating from the very start. She is very accessible and responds promptly to inquiries. We fully anticipate returning to this home and highly recommend this experience to travelers. Go ahead book your time Casa Sonrisas, you will come back time and time again!"

  • Garden Cafe property an oasis

"I stayed in the VRBO room for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room is spacious and ceilings amazing. The three fans and thick walls made it comfortable. Breakfast, included, was a real treat. I can still taste the coconut French toast and the passion fruit smoothies!! The restaurant is in a beautiful setting and i loved the music. The lounge room was very comfortable and inviting, especially on hot days. All the staff was warm and welcoming and the early morning taxi driver to the airport was nice and early and conveyed me safely to the airport. I would definitely stay there again."
