"My family spent a month at Casa Irie from mid December to mid January and we had a great time. The house is very comfortable and laid out very well for use by families. we enjoyed the foosball and the guitat which were nice touches and used the ipod dock for listening to music. The highlight of the place though is the infinity pool and the spectacular view of Nacascolo bay especially the sunsets every night. we would stand in the pool and watch the sun go down. It was beautiful. The caretakers, Ben and Grethyl was so nice and helpful and kept the place spotless every day. It really added to the pleasure of our trip. Of course Nicaragua has it's problems with infrastructure and power. Electricity was sometimes spotty and the road to the house required first gear on some of the hills. we had rented an old land cruiser and it was no problem. Still, that is no fault of the property itself and it only added to the adventure and did not decrease our enjoyment of our time there. The town was fun, nice places to eat and we made good use of the barbecue grill on the deck. The beaches were great. We often were the only ones on the beach or there might be three or four other people and we would joke how crowded the beach was. My grandkids got to see baby turtles hatching at la Flor beach and we spent a couple of lovely days at Coco beach, Hermosa beach and Marsella beach. My grandkids got to go ziplining, horseback riding and took surfing lessons. Rebecca, and Dan, the owners kept good contact with us by Email. The wifi at the house was excellent and they helped with any minor problems we had. I would have no hesitation going back to Casa Irie and would recommend it to anyone looking for a rental in San Juan del Sur."

"I'm only putting 4 stars due to a mix up with the cleaning schedule between bookings. The renters who used this place before our group arrived left used towels everywhere, crumbs on the counter and table, a half-eaten burger in the microwave and old food in the fridge. It was not the welcome we'd expected, especially after the three hour drive from Managua. That being said, the cleaning crew did arrive, but only re-made the beds without changing the sheets.
Once the place was in order, the 8 of us had a great time! The rental is off the beaten path, but no more than 5 minutes drive to El Gigante and within a reasonable driving distance to other sights. My favorite part of the trip was relaxing in the pool and watching the sunset over the ocean."

"My husband and I spent a month at Villa Pavela . Half of that time was with another couple. The Villa was very comfortable with two bedrooms, both of which had air conditioning and two bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the front veranda/dining area had comfortable seating as well as two hammocks where you could watch lovely sunsets in the evening .Remanso Beach was less than a two minute walk from the house:nice for beginning surfers or just cooling off between the rolling surf(not big waves at that time of year). San Juan del Sur was less than 10 minutes by car so you could go out to eat, shop at the mercado or the Pali grocery store or the fish market. A car is a must, as it did get hot during the day, so biking would be quite the excursion. Also a car would be useful for exploring other beaches and towns in a very friendly Nicaragua.
Wifi is available. There are brown outs (usually not for long)but the villa has a back up generator so that the wifi and fridge run.
Eliza is the caretaker and is very efficient-cleaning every day.Laundry service is also available through Eliza and is very reasonably priced. If you want to do your own bits and pieces, there is a long clothesline in the side hallway and with the wind blowing ,it isn't long before everything dries. Even if you cannot speak Spanish ,Eliza has a tablet so through translation program most things could be sorted out. She will also cook for you, if you arrange it with her(extra cost but very reasonable). The fish dinners were great.
The owners of the villa are most helpful and followup is very quick. We forgot my husband's e reader in Nicaragua and the owner graciously brought it back to Canada for us. Now that's hospitality!
All in all, everything is very comfortable-including the beds and very clean. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Pavela for a long stay or short one-its like staying at a friend's place."
