"This place is a gem. With the added beachfront pool this place is awesome. The pool has these ledges on the sides that are about 4 feet wide and are shallow enough for my 3 year old (who, in the past has been terrified of pools) to have a blast. He also had fun playing with the other kids at the beach club about 100 feet away. We also went for the meal program. I highly recommend it because there isn't really a grocery store nearby. And, it's a great deal. The food was delicious and we had leftovers- add eggs and you've got breakfast. But, let's not forget the surf break literally right in front of the pool. My only con is that there were only 6 bar stools for the outdoor bar (one for every bedroom). Not enough, as we spent most of our time there. I really had to dig deep to find that single shortcoming. WE WILL BE BACK. Oh, and by the way Seth and Lindsey are incredible hosts. The house staff is great as well. They were there to clean and such but not intrusive. Best place on this beach. Tip generously, they rock."

"This was our first trip to Nicaragua and we were looking for something with a great beach in an authentic Nicaraguan town. Casa Kaya definitely fit the bill. Josh responded to all our email quickly and our arrival and check-in went smoothly. The pre-arrival information was very helpful in finding our way out of Managua and to the property. We were met by the housekeeper Flora and the night watchman. This house has wonderful outdoor spaces for relaxing and the beach is sandy, very quiet and great for playing in the waves. The property is well maintained and clean and it felt very secure. The kitchen has all the necessary amenities to make a good meal and we used the outdoor grill also. The bedrooms are very basic. The main downside to them is the lack of closet space (so we lived out of suitcases on the floor) and the beds/pillows were not particularly comfortable but we all slept OK. Also there are no beach towels provided and there is no washing machine, so plan accordingly. There is a small store across the street where you can get a few basics but major shopping needs to be done in Leon. Poneloya is off the gringo trail and therefore there is not much available in terms of restaurants and activities. Leon and some of the other beach towns are easily accessible by car on well paved roads. As a side note, we were travelling with two children and never felt unsafe. We enjoyed Nicaragua more than Costa Rica and Panama."

"This was our second time staying at Casa Bella. The house is large and the bedrooms are separated giving our 3 families adequate privacy. The kids enjoy playing in the pool and watching movies on the large screen t.v. It is a quick walk to the beautiful beach where we enjoy playing in the waves. The members of the house staff are wonderful and very helpful. We are looking forward to returning to Casa Bella."

"We needed a place to house three families, including 6 adults and 7 kids. After lots of searching, we were just happy to finally reserve a place with room for us all. On arrival, we realized that Casa de Sol was so much more than we thought. Unparalleled views of the beautiful Laguna de Apoyo; the top of Volcan Mombacho peaking over the rim of the opposite ridge; troupes of Howler Monkeys in the trees; large and luxurious bedrooms; well stocked kitchen and spacious living areas; huge infinity pool overlooking the lake; helpful staff; all of this and more made for the vacation of a lifetime. We've stayed in many vacation rentals in Nicaragua, and this one was by far the most well supplied and maintained. It really feels as if you are invited to share in the owners' personal retreat.
If you have small children, be advised that there are some architectural aspects of the property where style and views were valued over safety, such as no railing on the balcony overlooking the pool/lake. This wasn't a surprise to us as we were well-advised beforehand by the owners. Our group included children with the ages of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9, and after setting some ground rules about where they could and could not go we had a fantastic time.
We highly recommend Casa el Sol and look forward to our next visit."
