  • Oasis in the woods

"We were invited to come for an art getaway to Casa Rio. At first I was disappointed it was not on the ocean, but as soon as we arrived we fell in love with the place. The architectural details are rather contemporary zen and it takes advantage of the air. With slatted ventsing around the main sala we need'nt worry about being too warm. The river location was such a delight. There are monkeys everywhere and they entertained us morning and night. There were other flora and fauna to enjoy as well. The home was well stocked for a rental. We cooked our own meals and all was available for our usage. The outdoor showers were interesting although not very private. Hacienda Iguana is such a beautiful place, with a well maintained golf course, spectacular beach and shady walking trails. The new restaurant on the beach, Pili's is excellent. We had dinner and lunch there. All was way above par and Pili herself is a delight. Will definately go there again and recommend Cas Rio."

  • Amazing Nicaraguan Surfing experience for all ages

"We just spent the last 2 weeks at this beautiful dream home and having nothing but great things to report. The house was gorgeous and in an ideal location where the beach is only a few steps away from the extensive patio. The floor plan allowed everyone their own space but was set up so that everyone wanted to be on the 1000+ sq foot patio, relaxing in the hammocks, at the tables or just having Hermit Crab races on the floor. Everything was well maintained in the house and Evalina, the house keeper was fabulous at keeping the house clean and preparing meals and appetizers for us. We can't say enough about Janelle, the property manager who ensured that everything we needed was taken care of and she definitely ensured that we had a great trip. We also had an opportunity to do a couple of Fishing excursions with Dan who was fabulous and enabled us to eat fresh caught seafood on both occasions. The beach was extensive and offered all ages of our 8 person party to enjoy the surf, the boogie boarding and the sand castle building. The Eco Surf Lodge, Los Cordones also offered a variety of experiences for us, with the Turtle nests, Yoga classes, Surf classes, horse back riding and of course cold drinks and delicious food and was only a few steps away from this Chalet. All in all, we had a great trip and are counting down until we can do it again."

  • Perfect Family Reunion!

"You know when vacation feels like vacation ... Then you instantly know you made right choice!! We couldn't have picked a better place to spend time with family and have a family reunion. The time spent in this home was spectacular. The views were amazing and breathtaking. The pool, the hammocks, the house were all sssssooo perfect! Originally it was only going to be 11 of us but we ended up taking 15 people. The more the merrier! And the best thing is that this house is so perfectly arranged that it didn't feel that all 15 of us were there. Bill was very quick to respond to my emails. We didn't get to meet Grace or Sergio during our stay but the security guards on the property answered all our questions and were beyond friendly. We stayed up past midnight all the nights and we would see the guard constantly walking around and checking. The kitchen is fully equipped. We were not missing anything. The supermarket as well as quite a few restaurants are about a 5 min drive away. Great food in the beachside restaurants. You are also a short walk/hike (for those of us out of shape!) to Aqua Wellness resort. The restaurant there was amazing! They even deliver up to the house! There are also plenty of activities to do both at the resort and in town. The secluded beach was very beautiful. We had some choppy water and could not enjoy it to its fullest but our kids were more than happy to jump back in the pool! The house was very very clean! The TV in the living room area is a Smart TV and the kids enjoyed Netflix while the adults enjoyed the balcony with some drinks. The top balcony was perfect to catch some sun, do some reading and provide an even better view of Bahia Gigante! The ocean sounds were so relaxing all day and all night! We are definitely going back next year!"

  • Wave Garden

"Our group of 8 adults stayed at the Wave Garden for 9 days in July 2014 and had an amazing time. The house was located directly in front of the Colorados surf break and offered all day viewing entertainment of the surfing. The house was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Favorite parts of the house were the indoor and outdoor pools, lush tropical gardens, art, outdoor bar, and upstairs balcony with crochet hammocks. We kept the glass accordion doors open all day to enjoy the sea breeze. Bedrooms were icy cold at night with the ACs. We got the meal plan and enjoyed every one of Roger and Amilkar's meals! The banana pancakes, dragonfruit juice, cantaloupe smoothies, lobster tails, red snapper, fish tacos, salads and refried beans were our favorites. We were never hungry and were hesitant to try any meals outside of the house because ours were so amazing. We did venture to Magnific Rock one night for a sunset dinner and highly recommend that for both the food and amazing panoramic views. We spent our days surfing at Colorados and Panga Drops, hiking, biking, strolling the beaches for shells, and relaxing in the pools and the hammocks. We rented bikes and explored Hacienda Iguana, the eco reserve, and parts of nearby Rancho Santana. We saw monkeys, exotic birds, iguanas, and lots of crabs! Check the pool for crabs before you get in! They were harmless but loved to take a dip in the pool! We hiked to Gigante and enjoyed Tonas at Buena Vista. We also hiked to Los Perros (both the short way and long way) and made it over to the stairs and explored Playa Duna. Some in the group also rented moto bikes and explored that way. We enjoyed happy hour at the Iguana Beach Club -- $1 Tonas and must-try Passionfruit Margaritas and Banana Daikiris. Seth and Lindsey were so attentive and helpful with all the coordination. I coordinated the trip, transportation from the airport, and meal plan with Lindsey ahead of time and Seth was very attentive to our needs while in the house. I really appreciated the cell phone provided in the house to contact them at a moment's notice. Nicaragua is a beautiful country and the people are so friendly. We were worried about safety prior to travelling but never felt unsafe while there. We can't wait to go back!!!"
