  • Beyond our expectations!

"Casa Culebra was far beyond what we expected for our holiday!!! We will definitely return to Nicaragua, San Juan del Sur and Balcones de Majagual:) The Remax folks in town set us up with Francesco (he is a gem!!!!) to pick us up from the airport and drive our rental car out to San Juan. Upon arrival, we stopped in to the Remax office where were we greeted and promptly toured around town. It was perfect AND we had a chance to pop in to stock up on goodies for our first breakfast. Upon arriving at Balcones we were again reminded that we were in good hands. The staff are incredible and make you feel welcome and safe at all times. We were given the tour of our house - and it was far beyond our expectations! Far bigger than we thought, spotless and with TONS of kitchen bits & bobs. Our 11 days were perfect. Truly. (ok fine, we had to kill a scorpion but really whatddya expect? it is the jungle after all but we will just add that to the list of life experiences in our back pocket!) But really, this place was a slice of heaven. The house, the beaches, the kind people, the food - it was awesome. At any time, we felt we could contact the Remax folks in town for any support or with any questions. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to have a great holiday with the opportunity to stay in the beauty of the jungle."

  • 8 Day Stay

"I just got back from an 8 day stay at this establishment. I can not begin to describe the beauty and serenity that comes with staying here. It is fantastic. The staff is so wonderful and friendly. So many beautiful things to see and leisurely days at the beaches, it's fantastic. Honestly, there are not enough words to describe what I am trying to say. You need to see for yourself~!"

  • Absolutely Stunning!!

"The house is beautiful but it is the view that puts it over the top. There were 4 of us that stayed there (2 couples) in Nov. 2014. We enjoyed our stay so much. Gabby was very helpful and quick to reply to emails during the booking process and preparation for the trip. Shayla gave us the tour of the town and house. She was very helpful and informative. We took surfing lessons from her husband Scott one of the days we were there. It was a ton of fun. The best fish tacos you will ever eat are located on the beach by the house. When you drive down to the beach and are facing the water turn to the left and keep walking till you reach the restaurant (about 15 min). We ate here twice during the week. Get there early because they do sell out of food."

  • Wonderful house and helpful owners

"My family spent a month at Casa Irie from mid December to mid January and we had a great time. The house is very comfortable and laid out very well for use by families. we enjoyed the foosball and the guitat which were nice touches and used the ipod dock for listening to music. The highlight of the place though is the infinity pool and the spectacular view of Nacascolo bay especially the sunsets every night. we would stand in the pool and watch the sun go down. It was beautiful. The caretakers, Ben and Grethyl was so nice and helpful and kept the place spotless every day. It really added to the pleasure of our trip. Of course Nicaragua has it's problems with infrastructure and power. Electricity was sometimes spotty and the road to the house required first gear on some of the hills. we had rented an old land cruiser and it was no problem. Still, that is no fault of the property itself and it only added to the adventure and did not decrease our enjoyment of our time there. The town was fun, nice places to eat and we made good use of the barbecue grill on the deck. The beaches were great. We often were the only ones on the beach or there might be three or four other people and we would joke how crowded the beach was. My grandkids got to see baby turtles hatching at la Flor beach and we spent a couple of lovely days at Coco beach, Hermosa beach and Marsella beach. My grandkids got to go ziplining, horseback riding and took surfing lessons. Rebecca, and Dan, the owners kept good contact with us by Email. The wifi at the house was excellent and they helped with any minor problems we had. I would have no hesitation going back to Casa Irie and would recommend it to anyone looking for a rental in San Juan del Sur."
