"Went for a yearly trip with two of my friends to San Juan del Sur. We could not have had a better time. All of the people we met were amazing, and the house was beautiful (way too big for 3 people). The infinity pool has a great view, and the hammocks got a lot of use. The only thing I might change would be to put steps up to the pool as the steep path could be a little slippery if you are as uncoordinated as I am.
Catalina is the chef that the owner recommended for us, and she was fantastic. She always went the extra mile whenever we needed anything. Don't let her fool you, she speaks English pretty well! Jess who lives in the casita near the house was also really helpful and fun. I highly reccomend Casa Suenos, and would stay there again if I ever come back."

"We've been visiting lovely San Juan del Sur annually since 2003. We only discovered Madeline's Place in 2009 and have anxiously returned each year since. Enrico and Maddie make us feel welcome as we arrange reservations via email. The place is amazing... ...beautiful two-bedroom apartment with a nice kitchen, reliable appliances, room for the crew (Rhoda and I usually stay in the main bedroom while surf buds bunk it in the additional room), wireless internet with good signal, a TV that provided all the Royals playoff games, and the pool. Did I mention the pool? Who goes surfing all day in Nicaragua and then gets to enjoy a Flor de Caña and OJ by the beautiful pool. Even the neighbors have been charming (one can't have too many good friends). Angela is warm and takes great care of the place on schedule. The staff provides impecible security and treats us like family, and over our five years they have become like family. Each afternoon at 5:30, it's time to walk across the road to photograph another spectacular sunset. It's a short walk along the beach to any restaurant in town. We rely on Allan Carcamo, the best surf guide in Nicaragua to get to Playa Madera, Hermosa, Remanso, etc. daily. Even the Super Poli (the grocery store) is walkable. I offer my heartiest recommendation to Madeline's Place. Just don't make your reservations for the last weekend in September into the first days of October. I hope we'll be there..."

"Casa Colina is beautiful and well maintained-- has all the comforts from home. 7 of us adults fit comfortably, the loft space was a bit hot so the guys ended up sleeping in the living room which gets a nice breeze at night. The view is breath taking at all times of the day, but is especially cool at night when the town is lit up. As expected in Nica- the electricity did go out twice during our week stay, but that is no reflection on the home itself. even though the pool is quite small, it was such a luxury to have one after walking up the hill to get home. We all got massages at the house, which was incredible! Highly recommend doing that! Catalina is the best ever. Can't say enough good things about her! She is so helpful and brought us a ton of laughs and fun times. I highly reccomend staying at casa Colina if your considering staying in SJDS."

"Five women spent 4 wonderful days in San Juan del Sur and found this beautiful villa to be the perfect place for us. We had access to the quiet beach town with all the restaurants and activities within walking distance. The security provided restful nights. We were welcomed by Keith and his staff, meals were wonderful and if we had not been touring other cities in Nicaragua we would have loved to stay all 11 days here. Enjoy....you won't be disappointed!"
