  • Unbelievable

"This trip was absolutely fantastic. Robert set us up with a fantastic driver Yasmil who became a good friend. The condo was everything we hoped it would be but better. The views to the north had amazing sunsets and you could wake up at dawn and check the surf without even getting dressed. The food on location at la ventana was great, the walk down to breakfast was relaxing and Melissa was so accommodating and her breakfast was fantastic. The pool bar was awesome and Harvey was the best, he made a great drink and his smile made every day all that much better. Pili was the restaurant owner in the evening and the food was excellent. Robert helped us get out of the community to Rancho Santana for a meal to remember. We went to Mag rock for a sunset that was amazing. We went to hot springs with Yasmil and his wife and La Scalle for delicious brick oven pizza. We had couples massages in our cando which were very nice with Ana Lucia and Ana Rosanna two sisters excellent at massage. We took a trip to Aqua wellness resort for the day thanks to Yasmil and had a once in a lifetime massage in the treetops. The energy at the resort was excellent, we met so many kind people from the housekeeper, to Melissa at breakfast with amazing Acai bowls, from the security personnel, to Robert and Yasmil making every component of the trip absolutely perfect. The surf was very fun and although we understood the surf was not as good this time of year, we had super fun surf that wasn't too big to put me out of my comfort level. You can tell when it's big that it holds a top notch wave about 40 yards from the balcony view. We are surely coming back next year with the rest of our family and are looking forward to seeing everyone we met once again."

  • Perfection!

"My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks in May. Maribel and Faxis are an aunt and nephew team that take care of the property and an absolute joy. We still miss Maribel. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, whew! There is AC in every room that keeps you in the comforts of home (U.S.). The kitchen is phenomenal, for any where. The outside seating area is perfect for coffee and evening cocktails and hanging out. The pool is one of Rancho Santana locals favorites because of the shade, a precious commodity!!! There is a tv for the men ;) We were able to watch the NHL playoffs from Nicaragua, who can ask for more. We stayed by ourselves and had a few people in and out too. The layout is so comfortable whether your two people or ten. We can't wait to go back!!! Recommendation: Rent a car. This is not a unique recommendation for this property, you're going to want to explore the surrounding beaches and what not, you're going to want a car no matter what ( that is coming from a cheapskate!)"

  • great honeymoon

"My wife and I stayed for 9 days. After a LOT of research we settled on this condo. We hit jackpot. Matt was very easy to work with and gave us great information. View and location are great. We drove around and looked at the hotels we had considered and confirmed we made a good decision. Eyleen the maid cooked and cleaned. Doesn't speak english but my spanish was good enough to communicate. Surf was a little small, but water was nice. We rented a car and were glad we did. Nice develpoment, but you will want to tour around. Magnicient rock, Rancho Santana and Ometepe Island were our favorites. Matt's buddy Zack can help get you almost anything. He coordinated our trip to Ometepe and took us out on his boat spearfishing. He is a local but speaks good english. Power went out a few times but they have backup car batteries to run the lights and fan. Small ant problem that went away. Matt offered to have somone come fix it ASAP but we didn't need it. Matt will give you a list of the great resuturants around. I probably wouldn't eat at the local resturant Don Eloy's again. People are nice, but it's Kind of expensive and the food isn't great. Same with the NSR surf shop. Great selection of boards, but Mark at Nica Xtreeme adventures would have given a better deal. Motercycles to rent fo $10/hour from him too. To sum up. Cool owner great place. Highly recommended"

Tola Travel Tips

Getting to Tola Vacation Rentals

Tola is a small beachfront community located on Nicaragua’s Pacific coastline. It is approximately two to three hours southwest of Managua. To get there, you will fly into Managua International Airport. The airport hosts most North American airlines. There are several flights that operate each week between major hubs in the U.S. such as Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, Houston and Miami. If traveling from Europe, you may need to route via one of these cities or another Central American cities. From Managua, the easiest option is to hire a car and drive down to Tola. Some of the vacation homes offer a private transfer service which can be arranged on request. This can save you the hassle of having to hire a car and drive yourself.

Beautiful Natural Surroundings at Tola Villas

Many of the vacation homes in Tola are located in gated resort communities. This provides added security and a wide range of facilities. The most well-known resort is the Hacienda Iguana which is a premier golf resort. Much of the natural vegetation has been preserved and at any time of the day, you may see and hear the howler monkeys that are indigenous to the area. You may also spot the resident iguanas that regularly patrol the grounds. Each year in season, the huge leatherback turtles come to the beach to lay their eggs. Many of the vacation homes have beautiful gardens and outdoor decks so you can enjoy the natural surroundings. Relax in a hammock with your favorite book and enjoy the tranquility of Tola. Many of the homes are built from natural hardwoods and have large windows which allow for beautiful views. Enjoy comfortable furnishings and spacious living areas. Some villas offer the services of a housekeeper or chef that can take care of all your vacation cleaning and catering needs. There are a handful of private vacation homes that are located along the beachfront. These are generally larger, more luxurious, and suitable for groups of friends or large families.

Be Close to the Surf at Your Tola Oceanfront Rentals

Tola is known as one of the premier surf destinations worldwide. On either side, it has two main surf areas that are within a few hundred meters of one another along the coast. Playa Colorado is to the south and known as the Nicaraguan Pipeline. The area is a sand-bottomed beach break which is fed by the waters streaming out of the river mouth of the Rio Colorado. This famous surf spot is where most of the Nicaraguan surfing videos are filmed. The second prized surf spot is just to the north of Tola and known as Ponga Drops. Here, there is a deep water reef that amplifies the swell, providing excellent surfing conditions. The result is an impressively large rolling wave that allows for long rides and carving turns.

For non-surfers, the area still has plenty of attractions. Golfers can enjoy the 9-hole golf course as a regular daily outing. For those looking for something more energetic, you can get in touch with some of the local tour operators. They can arrange guided horseback riding or hiking excursions. If you are looking for a thrill, you can go on a treetop canopy excursion through the rainforest.
