"We just got back yesterday from renting this beautiful house. We stayed two weeks and had An amazing time. We spent most of our time in the pool, laying on the beach or relaxing on the top terrace listening and watching the ocean. It truly is a slice of heaven. The sunsets are surreal and you have the perfect view. We had Lesbia cook for us all but 2 days. We enjoyed everything. Luis the caretaker is super helpful and took us a few places we wanted to go. Transfer from the airport to house was painless. I have only one con. It would have been nice if the upstairs bedroom had a queen bed. We kind of figured it for the master and were a little bummed about that. But who goes on vacation to sleep!? Thanks Jamie for allowing us to rent such a beautiful place!!!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: January 2015 Review Submitted: January 26, 2015View listing
"We hosted our second wellness retreat here at Casa Colorados! The property now has a beautiful palapa built next to the house where we can teach guests Pilates and yoga with a gorgeous view of the beach. In addition, the kitchen is spacious, easy to cook in, and has an amazing view of the ocean. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. Overall, it is the perfect place to host a full service retreat."Guest: Scott & Kevyn Date of Stay: January 2015 Review Submitted: January 20, 2015View listing
"Wow. This place is amazing.. We had reserved it for a week to take our family down to relax in Nicaragua. After an amazing few days in Granada we headed to Gigante to e Treehouse. You can only imagine how stoked th 4 and 6 year old were when we walked out to the deck on the first day to be greeted by the monkeys in the trees. They were quickly identified and named and became a daily event. The house was solid build and had all the amenities we needed for our tropical vacation. Daily beers in the pool while looking at the coast made for the best days. The three minute walk to the beach made for easy excursions down to the ocean for daily swims and sandcastles. Also, having a little restaurant right on the beach made it easy for this dad to enjoy a cold beverage as the juniors played the day away. The town of Gigante is a rad little town that has not yet been too overrun and still has the fishing village vibe. There are a few good restaurants and we even found a little store in town to buy some necessities such as beer, limes, and treats for the kids. The owner Ron, was very easy to work with and his staff at the house was top of the chart. Thank you for an amazing trip that has made lasting memories.."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: September 16, 2014View listing
"Our family (kids 15/13) spent 7 nights at Casa La Selva and had an absolutely wonderful time. James took excellent care of us along with David and Nelson (great day trip to Granada guys!). And who can forget Giselle, she is the most wonderful cook and took great care of us to make sure we were well fed and happy. I was not sure how the fully catered option was going to work but after the week there is no other way to go trust me. Well worth it to work the details with James and enjoy the weather and surf. Also be sure to arrange for James to secure transportation for you from the airport, no way I would want to navigate that on my own. I am adventurous but why stress out! The ocean is just a short 2 minutes walk from the pool and you have absolutely miles of beach and surf adventure with very few others around. It was great to watch the surfers and do a little boogie boarding and take the walk down the beach to the beach club for a Tona and some Nachos. I also would highly suggest a day trip to Granada, what a wonderful and historic city with plenty to do. David and Nelson were wonderful hosts. If your kids are happy with hanging out and relaxing this is the place, probably not so much if your kids are always looking to be entertained. It is somewhat remote but a truly wonderful and relaxing time with 5 star hosts."Guest: Jeff k. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: December 11, 2014View listing
Nicaragua Travel Tips
Sporting and Leisure Activities near Nicaragua Vacation Rentals
In the area around San Juan Del Sur, surfing is a popular pastime. The swells in Nicaragua are so legendary that they attract surfers from all over the world. Kite surfers and windsurfers can also enjoy the wind and waves. There are several schools along the coastline that provide equipment and lessons if you want to give these sports a try.
Fishing charters are widely available for those that enjoy deep sea and sport fishing. If you want to hook game fish such as marlin, sailfish or tuna, you will want to head out with an experienced skipper who can take you to the best fishing spots. If you prefer something a little more leisurely, a great way to spend an afternoon is on a snorkeling cruise. Sail out of the bay and anchor off one of the many reefs. Then spend the afternoon snorkeling and enjoy the colorful underwater world. If you hold a scuba diving qualification, there are several dive schools and charter companies that will be able to take you out to explore the many reefs. You can even upgrade your certification or sign up for a specialty course during your stay.
If you enjoy lush foliage and birding and don’t mind heights then a treetop canopy tour in the rainforest is a great daytime excursion. Travel between platforms on a zip line and experience a unique bird’s-eye view of your surroundings. Local outfitters are well equipped and ensure that you complete the excursion safely. Another popular way to explore the interior is on a horseback excursion.
Getting to Nicaragua Villas
One of the main points of entry into Nicaragua is Managua International Airport. The airport hosts a wide number of leading North American airlines as well as various other regional airlines. There are frequently scheduled commercial flights from most major hubs in the U.S.
Seasons to Visit Nicaragua Oceanfront Rentals
The peak travel season for surfers is between the months of May and November, when the swell conditions are at their best. Unfortunately, this is also the heavy rainy season. Showers are typically short-lived but downpours can be heavy. If traveling overland in areas where there are only dirt roads, you will need an all-terrain vehicle. In general, a tropical climate dominates which results in consistently warm temperatures all year long. A popular time for beach lovers is between the months of December and April. Nicaragua provides the perfect escape for those from the Northern Hemisphere who want to get away from icy climates for a while. This is also traditionally the windy season so you may need to hold onto your beach hat.
San Juan Del Sur Vacation Rentals in Nicaragua
San Juan Del Sur is one of the most popular beach destinations in Nicaragua. There are many stylish homes and villas that are available for rent. Many homes have magnificent views out over the bay and large open decks where you can dine in the evening or suntan during the day. Many have beautiful lush tropical gardens, complete with a few local inhabitants such as colorful parrots and monkeys. Many of the homes include a hospitality service where housekeepers will cook, clean and even do the grocery shopping for you. On request, they can also get in touch with local tour operators and arrange sightseeing excursions and transportation for you. On days when you are feeling lazy, you can head down to the beach or relax poolside. Hammocks strapped in the trees provide perfect places to finish reading your favorite book. The living areas are generally spacious and comfortably furnished. Entertainment centers are great for when you don’t feel like heading outdoors.
