  • Favorite Beach House

"This was our second time staying at Casa Bella. The house is large and the bedrooms are separated giving our 3 families adequate privacy. The kids enjoy playing in the pool and watching movies on the large screen t.v. It is a quick walk to the beautiful beach where we enjoy playing in the waves. The members of the house staff are wonderful and very helpful. We are looking forward to returning to Casa Bella."

"This place was fantastic. The caretaker was friendly and helpful, the condo was well equipped with great views and nice rooftop area. I would highly recommend it for a stay in San Juan del Sur- we loved it!"

  • Excellent vacation

"My husband and I spent a month at Villa Pavela . Half of that time was with another couple. The Villa was very comfortable with two bedrooms, both of which had air conditioning and two bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the front veranda/dining area had comfortable seating as well as two hammocks where you could watch lovely sunsets in the evening .Remanso Beach was less than a two minute walk from the house:nice for beginning surfers or just cooling off between the rolling surf(not big waves at that time of year). San Juan del Sur was less than 10 minutes by car so you could go out to eat, shop at the mercado or the Pali grocery store or the fish market. A car is a must, as it did get hot during the day, so biking would be quite the excursion. Also a car would be useful for exploring other beaches and towns in a very friendly Nicaragua. Wifi is available. There are brown outs (usually not for long)but the villa has a back up generator so that the wifi and fridge run. Eliza is the caretaker and is very efficient-cleaning every day.Laundry service is also available through Eliza and is very reasonably priced. If you want to do your own bits and pieces, there is a long clothesline in the side hallway and with the wind blowing ,it isn't long before everything dries. Even if you cannot speak Spanish ,Eliza has a tablet so through translation program most things could be sorted out. She will also cook for you, if you arrange it with her(extra cost but very reasonable). The fish dinners were great. The owners of the villa are most helpful and followup is very quick. We forgot my husband's e reader in Nicaragua and the owner graciously brought it back to Canada for us. Now that's hospitality! All in all, everything is very comfortable-including the beds and very clean. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Pavela for a long stay or short one-its like staying at a friend's place."

  • Gorgeous property!

"Our family and friends (4 adults and 2 kids ages 9 and 6) stayed at this property in late November. It is truly stunning. The highlight, without any doubt, is the beach. Broad, beautiful sand; nice moderate waves; and virtual no people. The kids had an excellent time building sand castles and boogie boarding (boards can be rented at the restaurant down the beach). We've had several vacation stays at Pacific coast beaches (Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica) and this is our favorite. The property unit itself was also a very pleasant suprise. It was spacious, immaculate, and well-equipment. There was plenty of space to cook and socialize. The bedrooms upstairs were comfortable and gave our group of 6 plenty of room. The washing machine was also handy. The property is a bargin. As mentioned in other reviews, the potential downside--an upside for many--is the relative isolation. There is not a whole lot of development in this area, which boggles the mind considering its beauty. There is one adequate but unexceptional restaurant on the beach. We ate breakfast and dinner there several times, but I'd recommend bringing some groceries in from San Juan del Sur rather than relying too heavily on the restaurant. We didn't have a rental car which limited our mobility some, but had no trouble arranging transport to see the turtles at la Flor. The property and beach are perfect for anyone looking to relax with family and friends in peaceful, gorgeous setting."

Nicaragua Travel Tips

Sporting and Leisure Activities near Nicaragua Vacation Rentals

In the area around San Juan Del Sur, surfing is a popular pastime. The swells in Nicaragua are so legendary that they attract surfers from all over the world. Kite surfers and windsurfers can also enjoy the wind and waves. There are several schools along the coastline that provide equipment and lessons if you want to give these sports a try.

Fishing charters are widely available for those that enjoy deep sea and sport fishing. If you want to hook game fish such as marlin, sailfish or tuna, you will want to head out with an experienced skipper who can take you to the best fishing spots. If you prefer something a little more leisurely, a great way to spend an afternoon is on a snorkeling cruise. Sail out of the bay and anchor off one of the many reefs. Then spend the afternoon snorkeling and enjoy the colorful underwater world. If you hold a scuba diving qualification, there are several dive schools and charter companies that will be able to take you out to explore the many reefs. You can even upgrade your certification or sign up for a specialty course during your stay.

If you enjoy lush foliage and birding and don’t mind heights then a treetop canopy tour in the rainforest is a great daytime excursion. Travel between platforms on a zip line and experience a unique bird’s-eye view of your surroundings. Local outfitters are well equipped and ensure that you complete the excursion safely. Another popular way to explore the interior is on a horseback excursion.

Getting to Nicaragua Villas

One of the main points of entry into Nicaragua is Managua International Airport. The airport hosts a wide number of leading North American airlines as well as various other regional airlines. There are frequently scheduled commercial flights from most major hubs in the U.S.

Seasons to Visit Nicaragua Oceanfront Rentals

The peak travel season for surfers is between the months of May and November, when the swell conditions are at their best. Unfortunately, this is also the heavy rainy season. Showers are typically short-lived but downpours can be heavy. If traveling overland in areas where there are only dirt roads, you will need an all-terrain vehicle. In general, a tropical climate dominates which results in consistently warm temperatures all year long. A popular time for beach lovers is between the months of December and April. Nicaragua provides the perfect escape for those from the Northern Hemisphere who want to get away from icy climates for a while. This is also traditionally the windy season so you may need to hold onto your beach hat.

San Juan Del Sur Vacation Rentals in Nicaragua

San Juan Del Sur is one of the most popular beach destinations in Nicaragua. There are many stylish homes and villas that are available for rent. Many homes have magnificent views out over the bay and large open decks where you can dine in the evening or suntan during the day. Many have beautiful lush tropical gardens, complete with a few local inhabitants such as colorful parrots and monkeys. Many of the homes include a hospitality service where housekeepers will cook, clean and even do the grocery shopping for you. On request, they can also get in touch with local tour operators and arrange sightseeing excursions and transportation for you. On days when you are feeling lazy, you can head down to the beach or relax poolside. Hammocks strapped in the trees provide perfect places to finish reading your favorite book. The living areas are generally spacious and comfortably furnished. Entertainment centers are great for when you don’t feel like heading outdoors.
