"Arrived and they condo was even nicer than the pictures. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. You aren't able to see the rest of the condos from A3 which was great. It gave the feeling of having a perfect private getaway. Panga Drops is just a few steps away. Los perros point break is also right out front and was breaking while we were there. And colorados is a little walk down the beach. I would book this property again without hesitation."Guest: skierguy Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 19, 2014View listing
"Our family spend 5 weeks at CASAMARI in April/May... and absolutely loved it. We were very cautious travelling with 3 kids under 12 to a foreign + less fortunate country where few people spoke English (and we didn't speak Spanish!). Everything from the booking/deposit/communication with the owner to the property was excellent. The owner Mari was amazing in all communications, giving us peace of mind before and during our stay. When we did encounter problems/needed assistance, Maria/Raul were there to help. The house itself is beautiful large 2 story house, with the top story being the 'house', and the bottom being 3 side by side condos. Everyone shares a pool and BBQ area on the bottom level, while the deck on top is private to the house. The house is very large (pictures don't reflect the size). There are 2 huge bedrooms (king, x3 doubles) and a third smaller room (double). Wireless internet was excellent... and very important as we had to work down there. Words can't describe the 180 degree views of the bay, the sunsets - whether looking out of the 8' windows inside or outside on the covered deck. Location is approximately 2 blocks from the beach, and 3 blocks from town. No car is required... in fact it's cheaper to hire car/drivers or take shuttles to/from the neighboring areas. Life is simple and slow... which is why we went. While there is lots to do, don't expect many first world amenities, or decent medical services for that matter (bring a good first aid kit-antihistamines and antibiotic ear drops are essential). Food choices are simple, local, cheap - whether buying from the market or eating out (we did it all with no bad experiences). The beer is always cold and amazing... often a great meal replacement for the adults! Expect occasional power outages common in Nica... Having a cell phone was important for communication (minutes/data are cheap). Expect roosters and dog barking late night/early am, and music to be heard til 2am on party nights (Semena Santa is a 7day 24hr party... LOUD!; bring earplugs if you are light sleeper!). This simply added to the atmosphere... and we felt safe the entire time. We highly recommend CASAMARI, and feel it is easily the best house rental in SJDS. We simply can't wait to return!"Guest: Martin J. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: June 5, 2014View listing
"I stayed in the VRBO room for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room is spacious and ceilings amazing. The three fans and thick walls made it comfortable. Breakfast, included, was a real treat. I can still taste the coconut French toast and the passion fruit smoothies!! The restaurant is in a beautiful setting and i loved the music. The lounge room was very comfortable and inviting, especially on hot days. All the staff was warm and welcoming and the early morning taxi driver to the airport was nice and early and conveyed me safely to the airport. I would definitely stay there again."Guest: Astrid Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 2, 2014View listing
"Wow! What a wonderful place! The photos don't really do it justice! Everything that is stated in the listing for this property was accurate except the view is so much more stunning than any photo! The home was spotless and everything in working order. There is also plenty of purified water on sight so don't worry about that. Jan and John were great in all their correspondence with us and so helpful! Be sure and take their recommendations for restaurants and activities as they were right on the target! Jan and John had recommended that if we go to Ometepe that we stay at least 2 days~We did not and I wish we would have. But we hope to go back someday and explore Ometepe again as it was one of the highlights of our trip. You just can't go wrong with this property!"Guest: Bookwoman44 Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: April 11, 2014View listing
Nicaragua Travel Tips
Sporting and Leisure Activities near Nicaragua Vacation Rentals
In the area around San Juan Del Sur, surfing is a popular pastime. The swells in Nicaragua are so legendary that they attract surfers from all over the world. Kite surfers and windsurfers can also enjoy the wind and waves. There are several schools along the coastline that provide equipment and lessons if you want to give these sports a try.
Fishing charters are widely available for those that enjoy deep sea and sport fishing. If you want to hook game fish such as marlin, sailfish or tuna, you will want to head out with an experienced skipper who can take you to the best fishing spots. If you prefer something a little more leisurely, a great way to spend an afternoon is on a snorkeling cruise. Sail out of the bay and anchor off one of the many reefs. Then spend the afternoon snorkeling and enjoy the colorful underwater world. If you hold a scuba diving qualification, there are several dive schools and charter companies that will be able to take you out to explore the many reefs. You can even upgrade your certification or sign up for a specialty course during your stay.
If you enjoy lush foliage and birding and don’t mind heights then a treetop canopy tour in the rainforest is a great daytime excursion. Travel between platforms on a zip line and experience a unique bird’s-eye view of your surroundings. Local outfitters are well equipped and ensure that you complete the excursion safely. Another popular way to explore the interior is on a horseback excursion.
Getting to Nicaragua Villas
One of the main points of entry into Nicaragua is Managua International Airport. The airport hosts a wide number of leading North American airlines as well as various other regional airlines. There are frequently scheduled commercial flights from most major hubs in the U.S.
Seasons to Visit Nicaragua Oceanfront Rentals
The peak travel season for surfers is between the months of May and November, when the swell conditions are at their best. Unfortunately, this is also the heavy rainy season. Showers are typically short-lived but downpours can be heavy. If traveling overland in areas where there are only dirt roads, you will need an all-terrain vehicle. In general, a tropical climate dominates which results in consistently warm temperatures all year long. A popular time for beach lovers is between the months of December and April. Nicaragua provides the perfect escape for those from the Northern Hemisphere who want to get away from icy climates for a while. This is also traditionally the windy season so you may need to hold onto your beach hat.
San Juan Del Sur Vacation Rentals in Nicaragua
San Juan Del Sur is one of the most popular beach destinations in Nicaragua. There are many stylish homes and villas that are available for rent. Many homes have magnificent views out over the bay and large open decks where you can dine in the evening or suntan during the day. Many have beautiful lush tropical gardens, complete with a few local inhabitants such as colorful parrots and monkeys. Many of the homes include a hospitality service where housekeepers will cook, clean and even do the grocery shopping for you. On request, they can also get in touch with local tour operators and arrange sightseeing excursions and transportation for you. On days when you are feeling lazy, you can head down to the beach or relax poolside. Hammocks strapped in the trees provide perfect places to finish reading your favorite book. The living areas are generally spacious and comfortably furnished. Entertainment centers are great for when you don’t feel like heading outdoors.
