  • Wonderful Stay in Valle Escondio Home

"We had 3 couples staying in the home and the layout was perfect for our group. The home is beautifully decorated and all of the bedrooms were very large. We spent a lot of time on the outdoor patio which overlooked the river and had plenty of seating. Although we had a car, you could easily walk to town if you wanted. Valle Escondido is definitely an upscale area and we will definitely stay in this home again on our next visit."

  • Perfect adventure in paradise

"We stayed in Cottage 1 for 10 days at the end of January into February. The weather was perfect, warm and sunny, with no rain but nice breezes at all times. The cottage had A/C but we never needed it. The location is excellent and is on 90 acres on both sides of a scenic river. It's quiet and safe at Rio Encantado, yet you are only 20 minutes from Boquete for shopping and cultural interactions. The weather in Boquete is cooler, rainy or misty much of the time, and quite windy, so we found Rio Encantado to be just right for us. The cottage was beautifully appointed and well made with an excellent kitchen and a gorgeous hand-built shower. The patio had a direct view of Volcan Baru, and we spent many mornings and evenings watching the changing light, rainbows, and stars above the volcano. The pool at Rio Encantado is stellar, clean, with no smell of chlorine. It's big enough to swim laps, yet has a shallow end where you can relax and sit. Walking paths are throughout the property which is beautifully landscaped with many mature tropical beauties. The owner, Frank, is thoughtful, interesting, and just a fine person who loves Panama and cares about the people and culture. We've stayed in many VRBO homes in other Latin American countries and this place is by far the best. Some days we stayed at Rio Encantado and others we drove up into the mountains to hike and it was all just fabulous. You can't go wrong at this place."

  • EXCELLENT!

"This was my first trip not only to Bocas, but to Panama. I travel to Costa Rica often and wanted to see something new. I was hesitant in my search for a hotel or house because I didn't know what to expect and finally booked Bills place. My friend and I were pleasantly surprised just how hospitable Bill was when picking us up at the airport and taking us to a good sized grocery to get supplies. I did all the planning, and my friend was very impressed the minute we stepped for in our condo. Everything we could have possibly needed was there, including a state of the art and fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining area and living room and very large washer and dryer. There was plenty of room for privacy, as my friend and I love our alone time with two ensuite bedrooms with very spacious bathrooms and a separate guest bathroom in the hallway. We really enjoyed our mornings and evening on the porch where we listened to music and drank local beers. Our condo was very clean, neat and had all of the amenities listed. Bill was super helpful with recommendations where to go and swayed us away from some common touristy things like boat tours which I appreciated as I like to live like a local when vacationing. I would highly recommend Burn Brae Plantation to any family member and friends. It was a 5 minutes taxi ride into the hustle and bustle of Town and far enough away to really feel like you are on holiday! I will definitely return!!!"

  • Couldn't be happier

"We couldn't be happier with our stay. Mireya was very hospitalible and helped us with things to do in the area. Our cabin was very comfortable. There were several wonderful little areas around the property to relax. I would happily return"

Panama Travel Tips

Getting to Panama Vacation Rentals

The Tocumen International Airport in Panama City is located not far from the city center. Because of the rapid expansion of the city in recent decades, roads and traffic can be particularly chaotic and you need to allow for additional time to get to and from the airport. Panama City Airport hosts most major North American, South American and European Airlines. There are regular daily scheduled flights that link Panama City with other major cities in the United States and neighboring countries. If you are traveling to a region outside of Panama City such as Bocas Del Toro, you will need to get a domestic connection from the Marcos A. Gelabert Regional Airport. This is the airport that hosts most regional flights to the rest of Panama. In Panama, the best way to get around is by taxi. Car rental is not recommended unless you are traveling in more remote areas.

Panama Travel Attractions

The Panama Canal is a major engineering feat and one of the country’s biggest attractions. You can visit the Miaflores Visitors Center and join a guided tour explaining the history, construction and modern-day operations of the canal. Then while enjoying lunch or a cup of coffee at the restaurant, you can watch the locks operating and see the ships passing through. Half-day and full-day cruises on the canal will take you through a number of locks.

Panama City has a number of interesting landmarks and museums. Most are open throughout the year and provide interesting and unique insights into Panama’s history and culture. Unfortunately, not all museums have both English and Spanish transcriptions on their exhibits so it is sometimes useful to have a Spanish-speaking guide with you. The Old City is known as the Panama-Viejo. This is original site of the first settlement in Panama. The city was once a base for Spanish conquests but was destroyed by fire in 1671 when it came under attack of the famous English pirate Henry Morgan. The historical heart of Panama City is the Casco-Viejo. Here, you can see some colonial architectural masterpieces. Browse the shops and enjoy a cup of coffee at one of the street cafés.

The Bocas Del Toro Archipelago is a group of islands that is a marine paradise. Home to the first nature reserve in Panama, the islands offer a quiet retreat where you can forget all about corporate city life for a while. There are excellent diving and snorkeling on the islands. Many have great beach breaks and are popular surfing spots. Birdwatching is a favorite pastime and you can spend many leisurely hours on the beachfront.

Stylish Comforts at Panama Beach Houses

If you want a truly relaxing vacation then rent one of the beach houses in Panama. Enjoy a quiet rural ambience and have a vacation where you can put your feet up and do whatever you please. Stroll down to the local restaurant for lunch and enjoy a home-cooked seafood meal. In the evening, you can enjoy sundowners on the deck as the sun sets behind you. The homes are either cozy cottages or more spacious homes depending on your rental requirements. Living areas are comfortable and rooms are tastefully furnished.

Seasons to Visit Bocas Del Toro Vacation Rentals in Panama
