  • Comfortable, quiet cabin

"Our month’s stay at Lucas’ cabin was great: great location, great price, great host. It was easy to spend a lot of time on the patio, with wonderful birds and monkeys putting on a show. Lucas is a very skilled bird watcher and loves to share his knowledge. Some nicer outdoor furniture would be a big plus for even more hanging out. Inside was more than adequate for the two of us, although things might get a little tight with a crowd larger than 3 or 4. Again, a furniture upgrade would be nice, like a couple of comfy reading chairs. Great to be close to town but far enough away that it was nice and quiet. Lucas and Gloria were always there with advice, recommendations, and even some fresh eggs. Coco the dog and Franklin the cat were always welcome, entertaining guests as well."

  • Casa Bocas

"Just got back from Bocas Del Toro. Had a great time with my family and loved Casa Bocas. It was everything it said it would be."

  • Highly Recommend! Best Place to Stay In Bocas

"Our group stayed at the Villa and it perfectly met all our needs. The house is beautiful, modern, clean and spacious. Great view. Well equipped kitchen. The owner was extremely helpful in answering questions before and during our stay. There is a beach a very short walk down the road. Taxis are easy and cheap to get to and from town which is a quick drive. Having a washer and dryer was a life saver. This was my 3rd trip to Bocas. I have found it difficult to find high quality, modern accommodations, and good customer service. I do not need to look any further on future trips. This is the best place to stay on the island. Highly recommend!"

  • Bocas Town Value

"Bocas Condos were as represented, and sit in a neighborhood of working people (in other words, you are not in a hotel in the middle of other hotels). There is a grocery store across the street (and about every other block), along with other shops selling a wide variety of goods right next door. There are fruit stands selling fresh fruits and veggies (shop daily to get what has just been delivered since they will sell out of some things). The condos are only two blocks from the main street... not too close to town where the partiers can get loud but close enough that you can easily walk to the waterfront for dinner or to hail a water taxi to go to another island. I loved the "vibe" of Bocas Town, but if you expect everything to be like it is in the US (bright and shiny, and efficiently run), then you should go somewhere else. Magdalene, the woman who managed our condos, was helpful and friendly and took care of our needs when we asked. Our Bocas highlights: renting bikes and riding to Bluff Beach for live music on Sundays, lunch at Bibi's on Carenero, dinner at the Cosmic Crab on Carenero, lunch at Roots on Bastimentos and then hiking the trail to the tip of the island to watch the surfers and the sunset, and Red Frog Beach. Restaurants we loved included The Riptide (a docked boat), Bocas Blended for their wraps and smoothies (it's an old Thomas school bus converted into a restaurant--we ate on top!), Lili's, The Limbo, Casa Verde... to be honest, we only had one bad meal the whole time we were there and it was one of the dinners I cooked! You should try to experience everything, including going to the town square and riding the bus to Boca del Drago and Starfish Beach (go early so you have enough time to enjoy the beach and catch the bus ride home)."
