"We returned from the island just a week ago but we would like to go back again. The trip was more than we had expected. It was the most enjoyable experience we have ever had. Everything was just heavenly – the marvelous nature, mystifying sunrise and sunset, the silver sea, the lovely and clean casita and which is more important the hospitable and kind people. We tried delicious and testy dishes, fresh seafood. The owner Dragan is kind, humorous person who is pleasant to deal with. He is very attentive but never of course intrusive. He took care to provide people with all the necessities. Dragan met us on time, took us to Indian villagesas well as to the nearest islands and was always willing to make our time even more enjoyable. DRAGAN, WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY FOR EVERYTHING!!! Without any hesitation we highly recommend the Caribbean Blue house for the people who are seeking a place to escape from daily life and live unforgettable and unbelievable experience."Guest: Aida Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: December 26, 2014View listing
"One of our favorite trips ever. Fell in love with Bocas and Bocas Villas was a perfect place to enjoy it from. Philip and Brown were awesome. Quiet, beautiful, peaceful, amazing stand-up paddleboarding, great snorkling, yet close to town and beach and surf. We can't wait to come back."Guest: Florida surfers Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 11, 2014View listing
"Our stay at Bocas Condos was adequate, at best. We had to upgrade ($150) to receive the ocean view, which was not specified before our arrival. Once we got our room on the 3rd floor, we were happy to have a little table with chairs outside our door but only got to see a slight glimpse of the ocean. That being said, it is the best view in the whole building, so room I would recommend the 3rd floor if you want any view at all. The room is set up as represented online, each differing slightly depending on the number of guests/room. The AC is not set quite cold enough, so we had to turn it down a couple notches to not be sweating in our room. The internet was not working when we arrived and tends to be an ongoing problem, so if you are in dire need of wifi, you have to go downstairs in the office. NOTE: There is no laundry service on the premises as it says on the website. We were looking forward to having the luxury of doing laundry at our accommodation and were disappointed to find out we had to walk a few blocks to go to a laundry service (which takes a whole day and costs $9/wash&dry). Overall, we do not regret staying at Bocas Condos, but would not stay again. Although it is a great location and only a few blocks from the ocean, next time we would like to be right on the water after seeing plenty of hotels there (for the same price if not less). Hope this helps!"Guest: teammjplayas Date of Stay: January 2015 Review Submitted: January 23, 2015View listing
"We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights at Casa Mono. It was even better than the pictures show! The lush jungle setting of the house was beautiful and the layout of the house unique and perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. We loved feeling as though we were outdoors with the screened walls on three sides, but we also felt very safe. The house was clean and bug free. The beds and pillows were comfortable with nice linens, and there were plenty of plush bath towels provided. All of the bedrooms had floor fans as well as ceiling fans, so everyone slept comfortably. Having a washer and dryer along with soap and dryer sheets available was very handy. The kitchen was adequately equipped for making meals, which we did each evening. The hammocks scattered throughout the decks provided plenty of opportunities for relaxing while listening to the surf close by. It was nice to be away from town, but yet just a quick taxi ride away. A short walk took us to a tidal pool for swimming (bring water shoes). We also walked up to Paki Point, a fun, casual bar where you can watch the surfers. We met Ron, the rental manager, and Carlos, the home owner, both very nice guys. They were very helpful with tips on good taxi drivers, guides and places to go. William (taxi driver) and Roberto (boat guide) treated us right! An added bonus was a troop of monkeys that came to visit us on our last evening and morning. They gave us a good show right outside of the house. I wish we could have stayed longer at Casa Mono!"Guest: gandmik Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 26, 2014View listing
Bocas del Toro Travel Tips
Natural Beauty at Bocas del Toro Vacation Homes
Bocas del Toro is a small archipelago of islands in Panama in Central America. It was the country’s first national park. Because of conservation efforts, it has remained a pristine haven of natural resources. Bird and turtle sanctuaries are numerous and visitors can enjoy nature at its best. Many divers come to explore the underwater world and snorkelers can view the reefs from the surface. There are many trails that are open for visitors to explore and travelers who enjoy trekking can explore a wide range of landscapes. It’s a destination where a more leisurely pace prevails and you can take some time to enjoy the local culture and natural attractions.
Bocas del Toro Travel Attractions
In Bocas del Toro, you are really spoiled for choice. Unless you are staying for an extended period, you will really be hard-pressed to explore all of the attractions the area has to offer. Both the land and sea offer many opportunities for exploration.
The scuba diving is excellent and there are several reputable dive schools in the area that operate daily charters. Snorkeling excursions and leisurely sightseeing cruises can also be easily arranged. For a different kind of snorkeling experience, join an excursion to the mangroves. Here in the crystal clear waters, you can see the sponges, starfish, fire corals and crabs that make this area their home. Surfers’ favorite spots are the waves off the Bastimentos and Colon Islands, and Carenero Quay. While the waves are good, it’s not a place for novice surfers. Many of the waves break close to the beach or dump on coral reefs, and you need to have the ability to break away before you get too close to either.
There are many marked trails for hiking on the different islands and some local tour operators will provide a guiding service to take you around. Some of the longer trails are open for mountain biking and bikes can be hired relatively inexpensively. Two of the more well known trails are the Red Frog Trail and the Sloth Trail.
The Bocas del Toro town is a place with a rich history. Many beautiful old buildings tell their own tales of industries and developments over the ages. Many of the old colonial buildings are being lovingly restored to their former glory, making strolling down the streets a wonderful experience.

Bocas del Toro is the type of destination that you visit to escape hectic your busy life for a while. The beautiful natural surroundings and wealth of outdoor activities will quickly rejuvenate your spirits. Many of the vacation homes are located on the beachfront with sweeping views over the ocean. Enjoy breakfast out on the deck and hear the birds in the trees overhead. Most rental homes are spacious and comfortably furnished. Many are characterized by large windows, open decks and surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Staying here you can enjoy your own private piece of paradise.
Getting to Bocas del Toro
For international travelers, you will need to route via the international airport in Panama City. From there, you can get a connection with one of the domestic airlines into Bocas del Toro. There are regularly scheduled flights but because Bocas is a popular tourist destination, they are often quite fully booked. It’s therefore essential to make your reservation together with your international flight and reconfirm your flight details again prior to your departure. Upon arrival in Bocas del Toro, you can get a marine taxi out to the islands. There are two taxi companies that operate regularly scheduled departures throughout the day.
