  • Incredble Vacation Condo with Remarkable Views in an Ideal Location

"We stayed at the condo for a week at the end of May 2014 and could not have asked for a better condo or location to base our trip from in Panama. The condo itself is immaculate, extremely comfortable and well-equipped as a 'home-base' with top-end appliances, laundry, peaceful surroundings, and remarkable views of the beaches (bring binoculars for watching the surf at surrounding points) and the town of Gorgona. The larger facility is very clean, secure and beautiful, with a great gym with a/c, a spa, games rooms, a children's area and lovely and well-kept pools overlooking the ocean (one lounger, one lap, one for kids). There was a cantina on-site on the weekends, but the new restaurant in the second tower was to open soon; it is one of very few restaurants in the larger area that is located overlooking the ocean (I cannot wait to go back once that is open - it promises to be a gem!). We felt very secure there - personally and with our rental car parked in the garage - and never had cause to worry about a thing. It was our first time in Panama and Jim's pointers and advice were second to none. From recommending the best restaurants, grocery stores, surf points and day-trips to helping us get out of a pinch when the surf board rental shop was unexpectedly closed on the day of our departure, we could not have asked for a more insightful, honest and helpful manager/host. The town of Gorgona is charming and offers a few unique (and tasty!) restaurants within walking distance of the condo. We bought groceries in Coronado and were a bit surprised by the vast selection of goods after having spent time in other Central American countries. Few locations offer such serenity and opportunity as this does; day trips to the Canal, the Caribbean (two oceans in one day!), Panama City, up to hike in the charming town of El Valle and into the jungle to see monkeys are all easily accessible without having to plan for overnights away from this condo. It was ideal. We highly recommend staying here for at least a week and longer if you want to explore more. We spent a lot of time finding surf spots around the area (with Jim's guidance to get to the good ones) and were amazed at how diverse and inspiring the different areas are all within a short drive from the condo-base. And for those down-times, sitting on the condo's 20th floor patio above the crash of the waves, watching the birds fly and the black and white sands move with the water is unbeatable! Thanks!"

  • I highly recommend a visit!

"We stayed at this lovely beachfront condo for 2 weeks. I have a family of 6 and we were very comfortable here and there is so much to do on the property that it took us a couple of days to actually see everything there was to offer. The older kids were thrilled with going up to the roof top gym and sauna while the younger ones played Foosball in the adjoining room. The view from the rooftop pool and seating are is absolutely breath taking and made for some beautiful family photos! We went for long walks on the beach and then hopped into the beachfront pool to cool off, there are no words to describe how beautiful and relaxing it was! And the food...unbelievable! There are so many little restaurants along the street, we ate at every one of them and it would be hard to say which was my favorite. I highly recommend a visit. The owner, Alejandro, is very nice and accommodating and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. His prices are extremely reasonable and the drive into the city is scenic and fairly quick (if you are not in morning rush hour)! Thank you Alejandro for giving us a memorable 2 weeks in Panama!"

  • Excellent Vacation with exercise built in!

"Starfish Reef Villas are excellently appointed! The bedrooms are very comfortable. The decks are great for drinks, watching birds & just hanging out looking at the jungle. & you are up at mid tree level in their jungle. Four of us escaped the cold north lands of Texas & Ohio & went to Panama for this adventure. All of us love to cook & create wonderful food. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the stuff you could want to prepare fabulous meals. Jack & Kelly were wonderful hosts with helpful answers & ideas for adventures. Niko, the tireless grounds keeper, surprized us daily with fresh bananas, opened coconuts, papayas or bush peas. Whatever he found for us around the jungle. He also taught us some new spanish words & some words in his native Indio language. The jungle has lots flowers, huge trees, wonderful plants, birds, frogs, insects & sounds you can't identify or wonder what or who they might be coming from. The beach area is small & very private & wonderful. The snorkeling is good with lots of live corals, reef fish of all sizes, snowflake jelly fish, they don't sting just set on the bottom & lots of colorful starfish. Paddling the cayuco is a bit tricky, but you are already wet anyway. Be sure & take everything you think you want down to the beach with you. Its quite a hike both ways! Jack arranged a day trip to Crawl Caye for snorkeling, A great lunch & the on to Red Frog Beach & some much needed provisioning in Bocas Town. Be sure & make a good shopping list to start with & get everything you might want to take to Shepard Island on your first trip out. You'll be happy if you bring extra bags for your carry out goodies. Remember the beer store is an extra water taxi ride away, $10 each way. WE hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as we did. Thanks Jack & Kelly & Niko"

  • Best choice for a relaxed stay in the caribbean Bocas area

"My wife and I had a really great stay at La Casa Blanca while our fantastic journey through Panama. Isla Solarte means caribbean flair pure and is far enough from the bustling Bocas Town to have it quite and relaxed there. The house is in a nice area, has it's own waterdock from where you can go for snorkeling to the nearby coral riffs and a huge terrace with an impressively view, especially by sunset. It's equipped with everything you need for a self catering stay. Also nearby there's a jungle for little hikes where we have seen exotic birds like parrots and many of red frogs and funny crabs. Augustin, who lives directly in the neighborhood, gave us a good support. He took us with his boat to Bocas Town anytime we needed to go there to buy food for our meals and took us also to a nice and very personal boat tour and snorkeling trip to Dolphin Bay, Coral Cays and Bastimentos. If you go there just ask him for fresh fish. In any case we will highly recommend La Casa Blanca for a relaxed stay in Bocas area."
