"I stayed at the house while my parents visited my girlfriend and I in Panama. It was a great place to relax. The beach is just on the other side of the river. The views and privacy where fantastic. The ever changing scenery with tidal changes made sitting on the balcony more interesting. The house was very spacious. I would recommend this house to anyone who likes a quiet beach atmosphere. The manager was very helpful and made everything easy. Though I appreciated it the river makes crossing to the beach at high tide wet."

"What a wonderful 5-night stay we had at this lovely property. Barbara and Mort are extraordinary hosts and Maggie the dog is an absolute delight!! Definitely make sure you visit the bakery, and if you are there on a Wednesday or Saturday the Reuben sandwiches are an absolute must...preferably followed by some peanut butter cookies! We loved having breakfast every morning sitting on our patio next to the river and enjoying the stunning garden. It was great to be so close to town and be able to walk to the restaurants and grocery stores. We were sorry to leave and will undoubtedly be back!"

"What we loved about this property location...smack in the middle of a history lesson! The owners and their manager were excellent to deal with. The neighborhood is a slice of daily life, with a twist..it is right next to the Presidential Palace.
Being only steps from at least 3 wonderful cafes, all with great outdoor patios and sometimes entertainment, was an added bonus.
Tbe view from the balcony was lovely, ..at night it was magical.
We walked to the seawall, the Panama Canal museum, and many churches. A great 2 weeks.

"My wife and I stayed in the Quetzal house for the month of April and truly loved everything about it. The photos on this website don't show the flower garden area as mature as it is now. It is simply beautiful to gaze upon. Flowering bushes and plants of all colors invite hummingbirds, tanagers, mot-mots, and more to entertain you for as long as you care to sit still. We found it difficult to pull ourselves away from the premises to explore the surrounding areas.
The house, itself is spacious, well appointed, and immaculate. As large as it was for just the two of us, we felt a nice, homey vibe from the moment we walked in. Comfortable beds, nice showers, and an open kitchen...really, we had everything we could want.
The sense of solitude and seclusion while still being within a 10-minute drive to downtown Volcan was just what we wanted. There are a couple of small stores and a few restaurants within walking distance, and the buses to and from Volcan are cheap and easy catch, if you are not coming by car.
Dirk, the owner, and his caretakers were very responsive to any questions or requests we had during our stay. We enjoyed it so much that we have already signed up for a return trip for later in the year."
