  • Let us keep our paradise like a paradise

"Four unforgettable days with our Family from Canada and Ireland. If there is a way to rate the staff they don't deserve 10, they deserve "100". They were devoted to us the entire time we were there. As for the owner, no words to thank Don Carlos. Always concerned that all was working and that everything was working. The only complaint we had was the strong winds which followed us from Canada (sob, sob). We couldnt use the kayak nor the paddle board. We will be back Casa Mia en la Olla de Pachuco. Hasta pronto. Maybe in September to do some fishing and cross over to San Blas"

  • relax in this peaceful seaside village

"The apartment is exactly as described on the website, very comfortable, well equipped and spacious. The owners are charming and very welcoming, but totally respect the need for privacy and peace. The view is panoramic and interesting. The beach to the east end of the island is good for swimming. There is good fishing for small fish from the jetty. Ensure you bring all your food supplies, per the advice, as the supply on the island is not good quality or reliable."

  • Large property at a reasonable price

"The house is spacious and well laid out inside for a large group although there were only two of us. The deck over the water goes all the way around and gives good views of the surroundings. We probably saw more boats and planes than wildlife but the local heron kept us entertained. The downsides are that the house looks a little tired and the equipment and particularly the crockery was an odd assortment which was not really adequate. The walk from the house to the gas station through the local shanty town was not particularly pleasant but once there this served as a good hub for taxis to town and it also had a small supermarket. The taxis are good value at $1 pp. We warmed to the town but mostly enjoyed the trips out to other parts of the island and across to the other islands. We got used to travelling everywhere by boat and found the cost of these quite reasonable. Our meet and greet service from Dominic left a lot to be desired but Stephanie in the Bocas office was helpful and our maintenance problems were sorted out efficiently. We would recommend the house to a group on a budget looking to be in a rural area but still accessible to town."

  • Wonderful house on an amazing island!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights at Casa Mono. It was even better than the pictures show! The lush jungle setting of the house was beautiful and the layout of the house unique and perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. We loved feeling as though we were outdoors with the screened walls on three sides, but we also felt very safe. The house was clean and bug free. The beds and pillows were comfortable with nice linens, and there were plenty of plush bath towels provided. All of the bedrooms had floor fans as well as ceiling fans, so everyone slept comfortably. Having a washer and dryer along with soap and dryer sheets available was very handy. The kitchen was adequately equipped for making meals, which we did each evening. The hammocks scattered throughout the decks provided plenty of opportunities for relaxing while listening to the surf close by. It was nice to be away from town, but yet just a quick taxi ride away. A short walk took us to a tidal pool for swimming (bring water shoes). We also walked up to Paki Point, a fun, casual bar where you can watch the surfers. We met Ron, the rental manager, and Carlos, the home owner, both very nice guys. They were very helpful with tips on good taxi drivers, guides and places to go. William (taxi driver) and Roberto (boat guide) treated us right! An added bonus was a troop of monkeys that came to visit us on our last evening and morning. They gave us a good show right outside of the house. I wish we could have stayed longer at Casa Mono!"
