"We just returned from our trip to Birdwatcher's Paradise, and that it was. We never considered ourselves "bird people", but here, you will be. Birds of every color and flowers to match. Such a beautiful setting. The rental is private and secure. The local roads are excellent and you are central to all that there is to see. La Amistad in Las Nubes and Cerro Punta are within a beautiful hours drive. The beach at Playa Barqueta was easy to get to and deserted on the day we went. The coffee tour at Jansons was very informative and interesting. Absolutely do not miss the orchid farm at Finca Dracula in Gaudalupe. Boquete is easily reached on the new winding road that runs past the property. Volcan is a whole different vibe than Boquete, less touristy. Again, the location can not be beat.
Lynn and Jerry are fantastic. They give you your space but are happy to give you recommendations for both food and fun. Really enjoyed meeting them and sharing travel stories. The four dogs were just what we needed to help with missing our own at home.
We would highly recommend! Exceeded all expectations.

Spectacular view, Excellent house, good caretakers, OK island
"The views from the deck, living and dining areas are amazing. The sound of the ocean surf is constant and beautiful. The sunsets are gorgeous and calming. The caretaker Antonio was so pleasant to talk with and nice to have nearby. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and pans but not with any food or condiments. Stop at a grocery at bocas town and make sure to get water, salt and spices and oil in addition to food. Once at the house it isn't easy to find supplies - though there is a small grocery next to the water taxi pier. The house was super clean and the ac was so great at night after hot days.
Bastimentos itself is dirty with trash but the side of the island where the house is located is clean and well kept. This house was one of the nicest we saw during our stay. The local folks are nice without being overly welcoming, which is fine. I felt safe walking around day or night. Beautiful beaches, snorkeling and other activities are just boat rides away.
Firefly is a few minutes walk (bring headlamps at night) and worth the price - great food and drinks and the most romantic atmosphere. Also a good place to meet other vacationers.
I was able to wade with some kids in a nearby sand bar but otherwise the surf was too strong and I didn't have water shoes to try swimming in front of the house. Wifi was reliable. Didn't try the television but satellite with English channels is available."

"To begin, we were happily greeted by a very nice couple at the airport. They took us by car to get our golf cart rental, which we highly recommend renting while staying at Casa K. We loved it! Great for exploring! From there they let us follow them to the house. Be sure to wear your seatbelt and follow all driving laws! When we arrived at the house, it was better than described. The sound of the ocean waves crashing was unbelievable. We sat on the front porch and just took in the sight and sounds of the crashing waves. Our stay was very comfortable and Tyson was available and prompt in answering our emails and calls. The house provided a house cell phone with all necessary numbers stored in the phone which was great! This house is in an awesome neighborhood. There were 2 restaurant options in the area. The Paki Point Restaurant a few doors down, was an incredible place to eat and drink in the neighborhood. As well as an outdoor evening pizza place. I bit further down the road is bluff beach which has some restaurants and places on the beach to eat and drink as well. Overall, our stay was amazing! Kristen, the owner, was a great about everything. She answered all my questions and full filed all our requests. We would love to stay here again! Thanks!

"Barbara, Mort & Maggie...what else would a visitor to Bouquete need than these people (and yes, the 4 legged Maggie is a person!). They provided every bit of information one would ever need in the 3 ring binder in the cottage + answered ALL of our questions with knowledge....& no question was too stupid for them to answer! Mort's bakery Rye bread along with butter & Barbara's homemade papaya/pineapple jam was waiting for our late night arrival...amazing.Make sure to partake in her silk scarf painting class (check ahead of time for the schedule) & drive down to Morton's Bakery to buy bread, sandwiches & goodies from Stacey....she made/decorated the wedding cake that was in the movie 'Mystic Pizza'! The property is secure & gorgeous with fresh banana's, papaya's & beautiful flowers all around. In fact, they made beautiful flower arrangements for our cottage!"
