Great Stay at Playa La Barqueta
"I spent a week with family in Playa La Barqueta and Nina's condo is the perfect place to stay. One may expect in a rental that the furnishings will be sub-par but in this condo, that is NOT the case. Each room is wonderfully furnished and uniquely decorated. This condo makes you feel at home. The kitchen has everything you'd want minus the actual food which can be bought at a local grocery store in David and the dishwasher and w/d were very nice to have. We had family staying elsewhere in Playa La Barqueta and they had several problems with their villa (incessant bugs INSIDE the villa; an inoperable washer/dryer; A/C not being efficient enough) but we had none of these problems at the condo. The condo is perfectly situated on the ground floor which is helpful when bringing in luggage and other items, and it is nice with the ocean breezes. Seriously, after playing tennis and also hanging out on the balcony, there must a 10 degree difference which is really refreshing. We visited in late May 2015 which is rainy season, and as we noticed, also a very quiet time of year. We basically had the common areas to ourselves, although be forewarned if you want to play tennis or have access to the sauna (even if there is literally nobody else around), the staff at Las Olas will initially say you must pay a fee (they told us $15/day), but once you provide the owners name they will grant you "access" via a wristband.
There is a lot to do in this area, even during quieter seasons such as late May. We walked on the beach, played tennis, swam in the pool and then spent most of our time elsewhere in and around Boquete. We hiked the highest peak in Panama (Volcan Baru), went ziplining at the Boquete Tree Trek, and did a coffee tour at Cafe Ruiz (with Carlos, an amazing tour guide). Overall, we just wish our stay in the area had been longer, but with that being said, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nina's condo or Playa La Barqueta for a nice, quiet, relaxing vacation literally ON the beach."

"Four unforgettable days with our Family from Canada and Ireland. If there is a way to rate the staff they don't deserve 10, they deserve "100". They were devoted to us the entire time we were there.
As for the owner, no words to thank Don Carlos. Always concerned that all was working and that everything was working.
The only complaint we had was the strong winds which followed us from Canada (sob, sob). We couldnt use the kayak nor the paddle board.
We will be back Casa Mia en la Olla de Pachuco. Hasta pronto. Maybe in September to do some fishing and cross over to San Blas"

"This CLEAN & COMFORTABLE casita is perched on a small hill surrounded by it's own private park. Beautifully terraced and landscaped, one feels like they are in their own private kingdom! Flocks of white egrets fly gracefully through the little valley, butterflies flutter about, the occasional toucan squawks and one catches glimpses of color from the many small multi-hued birds in the area. The sloth stayed in a tree near the terrace for 2 weeks---what a show!! There were fireflies in December--so charming! I stayed, alone, for 46 nights and was not the least bit bored. Definitely a SAFE location, too!
The master bedroom bed is comfortable, hot water situation is so-so and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and full sized appliances. It is about a 40 minute walk to town (gorgeous), but there are "hop on" mini-buses (50 cents) and taxis ($4). The caretakers and workers are all just lovely people and will help you in any way they can--best if you speak some Spanish, as no English is spoken. I suggest a stay of, at least, a week or two so that you may truly enjoy all that this enchanting valley has to offer. Many restaurants and stores to chose from.
The only possible downside is the internet situation (which the owner plans to rectify in March, 2015). If you MUST have strong, dependable, constant access--well, this might not be the place for you. I suggest checking with the owners for an update. The owner was most helpful and easy to work with--quick with replies to any and all questions. This is definitely a TWO THUMBS UP property. Should you chose this property, you will be THRILLED with your choice. Really!"

"We love this unit! The views are spectacular, both ocean and mountain views from the living room and bedroom. The unit is very well equipped and spotless. The furniture is lovely and comfortable. This is a very spacious unit ideal for a couple and if you have company you can utilize the Murphy bed and make a separate room. The balcony has lovely outdoor furniture, and another beautiful view. Coronado Bay is a beautiful condominium located directly on the beach. The grounds are immaculate and the security is good and the staff are friendly. At Coronado bay you can be as social as you like! We have had many potluck dinners on the 24th floor . It is a very social atmosphere . We have spent 2 winter vacations here and we have seen a large group of vacationers also return .
Coronado has excellent grocery stores and restaurants. It is a good base for exploring Panama, we have done many day trips to various points of interest. One of my favorite places is punta chame, about 30 minutes away. My husband and I walked the beach and encounters only one person in 3 hours! The beaches are beautiful, uncrowded and safe.
We are returning for the 3rd time in 2016.
Lynda and her team have been a pleasure to deal with!..see you again in 2016!"
