  • Peaceful Getaway

"I had the pleasure of staying at Tres Terrazas for two nights in February. With the storms back east where I am from it was so wonderful to walk around in shorts and sandals, swim in the warm water and relax in the hammock on the expansive terrace. The views, like everyone else says, are incredible and it is a quick walk to the beach. There are several restaurants with delicious food and the people are quite friendly. The meticulously clean apartment has total privacy but Jeannette and Thijs live next door and can help you with whatever you might need. Wish I could have stayed longer!"

  • A taste of paradise!

"Casa Acuario not only met our expectations, but greatly exceeded them. Our suite was located on the upper floor, with a large deck that provided a gorgeous view of the Caribbean waters, nearby Bocas Town, and gave us many spectacular sunsets. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts in the open air dining area. Our breakfasts were prepared by Elia and Edgar, the wonderful team who cared for us, and kept the facilities clean and well maintained throughout our 18 day stay. We regularly took a water taxi from our dock to town. For only $1.00, a water taxi would pick us up and deliver us to Bocas within 2 minutes. Water taxis pass by regularly so it was never a long wait.. Bocas has many very good, reasonably priced restaurants, a large choice of land and water tours, and many opportunities for surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving. We highly recommend Casa Acuario as a place to get a taste of paradise. We did, and we loved it! Jim and Laurie Canada"

  • Great Villa

"Coste Grande is a cozy villa, very well cared for having all the amenities you will need with a nice touch of decor. From the time of booking, Zhenia the owner provided many helpful tips and information including the name of a trusted transport company. Zhenia was truly a pleasure to deal with and ensured we had everything we needed. Having a keypad lock for this villa is a great feature with no keys to carry around. Though a vehicle is recommended we chose not to rent one and got along just fine. We love to walk so this villa was ideal for us. Bikes would have been a bonus but there are none around to rent. The beach is a two minute walk and there are 3 convenience stores for essentials also within walking distance. Coronado is a short bus ride or taxi ride with everything you need. The back garden/covered patio is a wonderful place to hang out. You will always have a place to go if you need some shade. The pictures and description on VRBO are represented exactly. Thank you for sharing your villa."

Panama Travel Tips

Getting to Panama Vacation Rentals

The Tocumen International Airport in Panama City is located not far from the city center. Because of the rapid expansion of the city in recent decades, roads and traffic can be particularly chaotic and you need to allow for additional time to get to and from the airport. Panama City Airport hosts most major North American, South American and European Airlines. There are regular daily scheduled flights that link Panama City with other major cities in the United States and neighboring countries. If you are traveling to a region outside of Panama City such as Bocas Del Toro, you will need to get a domestic connection from the Marcos A. Gelabert Regional Airport. This is the airport that hosts most regional flights to the rest of Panama. In Panama, the best way to get around is by taxi. Car rental is not recommended unless you are traveling in more remote areas.

Panama Travel Attractions

The Panama Canal is a major engineering feat and one of the country’s biggest attractions. You can visit the Miaflores Visitors Center and join a guided tour explaining the history, construction and modern-day operations of the canal. Then while enjoying lunch or a cup of coffee at the restaurant, you can watch the locks operating and see the ships passing through. Half-day and full-day cruises on the canal will take you through a number of locks.

Panama City has a number of interesting landmarks and museums. Most are open throughout the year and provide interesting and unique insights into Panama’s history and culture. Unfortunately, not all museums have both English and Spanish transcriptions on their exhibits so it is sometimes useful to have a Spanish-speaking guide with you. The Old City is known as the Panama-Viejo. This is original site of the first settlement in Panama. The city was once a base for Spanish conquests but was destroyed by fire in 1671 when it came under attack of the famous English pirate Henry Morgan. The historical heart of Panama City is the Casco-Viejo. Here, you can see some colonial architectural masterpieces. Browse the shops and enjoy a cup of coffee at one of the street cafés.

The Bocas Del Toro Archipelago is a group of islands that is a marine paradise. Home to the first nature reserve in Panama, the islands offer a quiet retreat where you can forget all about corporate city life for a while. There are excellent diving and snorkeling on the islands. Many have great beach breaks and are popular surfing spots. Birdwatching is a favorite pastime and you can spend many leisurely hours on the beachfront.

Stylish Comforts at Panama Beach Houses

If you want a truly relaxing vacation then rent one of the beach houses in Panama. Enjoy a quiet rural ambience and have a vacation where you can put your feet up and do whatever you please. Stroll down to the local restaurant for lunch and enjoy a home-cooked seafood meal. In the evening, you can enjoy sundowners on the deck as the sun sets behind you. The homes are either cozy cottages or more spacious homes depending on your rental requirements. Living areas are comfortable and rooms are tastefully furnished.

Seasons to Visit Bocas Del Toro Vacation Rentals in Panama

The dry season in Panama occurs between February and April and again between September and October. This coincides with the more popular tourist season. In general, Panama experiences a year-round warm tropical climate with average annual temperatures around 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
