  • Oasis in the woods

"We were invited to come for an art getaway to Casa Rio. At first I was disappointed it was not on the ocean, but as soon as we arrived we fell in love with the place. The architectural details are rather contemporary zen and it takes advantage of the air. With slatted ventsing around the main sala we need'nt worry about being too warm. The river location was such a delight. There are monkeys everywhere and they entertained us morning and night. There were other flora and fauna to enjoy as well. The home was well stocked for a rental. We cooked our own meals and all was available for our usage. The outdoor showers were interesting although not very private. Hacienda Iguana is such a beautiful place, with a well maintained golf course, spectacular beach and shady walking trails. The new restaurant on the beach, Pili's is excellent. We had dinner and lunch there. All was way above par and Pili herself is a delight. Will definately go there again and recommend Cas Rio."

  • Great loft!!

"The loft is in perfect conditions, ample amenities and at a convenient location (walking distance to the beach and nearby restaurants and supermarkets). The condominium is very safe and the staff is always taking care of you. Would definitely go again and highly recommend it."

  • Perfect spot for a family get away

"We made our first and I am sure not our last trip to Costa Rica with our 9 year old twins and my Mom and Dad who were visiting from South Africa. The house was perfect for our needs, with more than enough space for the 6 of us. The house was clean and had all the amenities we required. The views were amazing from the big expansive deck, both during bright sunny days and thunderstorms at night and early mornings. Every night we watched as the monkeys balanced across the telephone wires much to our amusement. Silver, the gardener was very helpful and was even kind enough to get us some coconuts and open them for us. The proximity to town was perfect for us, not too close to be bothered by the hussle and bussle but a short drive or bike ride away. We will be back for sure!"

  • Great Find!

"This guesthouse was a great find. This lovely guest house was everything it promised to be and more. We only stayed three days and I was sorry we didn't book for longer. The house itself, while small, is beautifully laid out, clean as a whistle and fully stocked with everything you need. Nan and Paul, our hosts live next door and were extremely welcoming and helpful with tips on where to eat and the best experiences including driving us up to happy hour at La Finisterra. We would have never found that on our own and having cocktails overlooking beautiful Playa de Hermosa beach was one of the highlights of our trip! While not on the beach the house is a very short walk from Playa Hermosa. It's location adjacent to Villa del Sueno Hotel allowed for us to have access to the hotel's pool, bar and restaurants. You have the best of both worlds- the space and privacy of the casita along with the amenities of a hotel. We could sit on our little patio in the morning with our breakfast and watch a troop of monkey's cross the treetops, see the beautiful birds and listen to the surf. Then we'd walk to the beach for a morning of swimming and sunning, have lunch and a drink at one of several beachfront restaurants and then walk home for a little siesta. We could use the hotel's pool in the afternoon and then go up to La Finisterra for drinks and food at "happy hour" prices while enjoying a breathtaking view. We experienced all this for a fraction of the costs of most of the accommodations in the area. What's not to like? We will definitely be recommending this casita to our family and friends and hope to be back for a longer stay soon."
