  • Amazing views of the jungle and coast line!

"we really enjoyed our Christmas holiday time with the family in this spectacular home and setting. We loved the Spanish style to the home. We were happy spending the entire day- starting with coffee in the rockers overlooking the jungle with all the birds on the top balcony. We loved the pool and patio area in the afternoons- very hot, though- but just the way we like it. We had our cocktail hour on the balcony at kitchen level, watching the sunset and enjoying the increased activity in the jungle. We enjoyed viewing the howler monkeys in the trees and all the different birds. In the evenings, we had our dinner by the bbq at another balcony/patio with the large round table . It cooled down in the evenings- but we were happy to use the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night. Going to the beach was simple- a ride down the hill to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Very simple to park along the beach edge, where we set ourselves up for the day with chairs and cooler. It's a bit of a ride into town so we tried to stock up as much as possible. The road can be quite steep up to the house so a 4 wheel drive is useful. At this time of year, it was dry and not a problem. The home and location met all our expectations and made for a very memorable vacation in Cost Rica!"

  • “Patty's Casitas Amador location nearest Amador Causeway expansion.”

"Patty's Casitas Amador location nearest Amador Causeway expansion. Panama is even more interesting and enjoyable this time in Nov. 2014.  Our stay at  Patty's Casitas on the Amador Causeway allowed us to see all the extensive work going on to evolve this area near the Canal, into a Tourist Destination.  Frank Gehry's World Famous Biodiversity Museum is finished. A walking excursion, bike ride or short taxi ride out the causeway, bring  major surprises, as new places and things, just completed,  appear. The Yacht Harbor and Beach are still to come. For greater access to the Causeway Islands, the single narrow road, is being widened to 2 lanes going each way, using fill dirt from the New Canal Operation. In addition, the waterway approach to the canal will bring Cruise S  hips tying up directly by the Walkway, in front of Hotels and Casinos soon to be added. Of course, more Restaurants and Shops will be opening.  The ferry boats leave from right in front of the Balboa Yacht Club, only 2 blocks from the Condo and the Albrook Airport is only 10 minutes away by Taxi, so we used the Amador condo as a "base", to take a few side trips to Pedasi, Iguana Island, and Contadora in the Pearl Island Chain.  The artists version can be seen on You Tube by searching "Nuevo Amador" in Panama. Now, Patty and Rudy's Amador Condo is right where all these goings on are happening and it's only going to get better. Please see our 2013 review under Patty's Casitas, about the amenities of the Amador Condo where we have loved to stay for 3 years now. Also see our review under Rudy's Tours about the New Canal Tour."

  • Make Sunrise Your Tamarindo Vacation Relaxation Headquarters!

"My friend and I enjoyed a Tamarindo vacation during the first week of September 2014. We stayed right across the street from the beach in the Sunrise Condos. A beautiful view of the spectacular pool as well as a glorious blue ribbon of ocean and swaying palm trees could be enjoyed while sipping cocktails on thirty eight's balcony. Sunrise Condos was a perfect base of operations...we'd stroll to grocery stores to pick up breakfast and lunch provisions...and then dine out...many delicious restaurants within walking distance, all featuring outdoor dining (which I love) on covered patios or terraces. Nothing like enjoying a piece of homemade coconut cream pie while watching the surf crash in the moonlight! I would definitely recommend our accommodations...thirty eight was clean, comfortably furnished with plenty of closet space and towels, and featured little extras that made it feel like home...a beach bag to tote your stuff to the beach, a small paperback "borrow one, leave one" library, and recent issues of several popular magazines. Ate most meals on the balcony...comfortable cushioned wicker furniture, a balcony ceiling fan, and the great views mentioned above made it hard to leave. The kitchen is fully stocked with ample glassware, dishes, glassware, more pots and pans than you'll ever need with all the great Tamarindo restaurants, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, and blender. The pool is clean and the cascading waterfall feature (wonderful for a shoulder massage!) lifts it several steps above ordinary. Sunrise features a 24-hour security gate to add to your sense of comfort and well-being. One of the most relaxing vacations I've ever been on...you won't be disappointed!"

  • Playa Potrero paradise

"Our family of 7 (six adults and our 16 month old grandson) spent a glorious week in this beautiful ocean front home at Playa Potrero! Prior to our trip we traded e-mails with the owner who gave us a lot of valuable information. Rita of Tropical Homes of Costa Rica (property manager) greeted us at her office when we arrived from the airport and escorted us to the home. A notebook in the home had great information about grocery stores, restaurants and activities. This 4 bedroom home (3 kings and 2 twin beds with 3 1/2 baths) was perfect for our group. The kitchen was well equipped as we cooked many meals there. Towels, including beach towels, were provided which was very helpful. The patio and pool area was our favorite place to relax and especially to watch the beautiful Pacific sunsets. We had fabulous food; a lot of restaurants within walking distance. We spent a day paddle boarding at Las Catalinas beach and had a fabulous lunch there as well. The guys chartered a boat for a day of fishing, catching bait as they trolled out of the bay. Some of the group surfed at Tamarindo and we saw a surfing competition at Tamarindo as well. Tropical Homes of Costa Rica created a custom hike close to one of the volcanos, including a mud bath and a delightful swim under a waterfall. We also rode the Monkey Trail (road not as bad as we had heard) and indeed saw monkeys. Our last meal was at the Sugar Beach Hotel where we experienced the most beautiful sunset we had ever seen and the food was absolutely delicious! What a pleasant surprise to meet Angie and Mino. Angie worked very hard to keep our home clean and tidy! Mino was a wonderful gardener, pool caretaker and security guard for us. We were quite pleased with their services!!! We highly recommend this home for your next vacation to Costa Rica!"
