  • Quinzaine magnifique

  • Tuscan family reunion

"After a long drive from Florence airport we finally settled into the peace and quiet at Le Tanelle. This was an excellent opportunity to spend time with both family and friends for 2 weeks. When not relaxing by the pool with a beer or wine we travelled the surrounding countryside, visiting nearby towns and dining in local restaurants and wineries. We also did a full day tour to Cinque Terra and Pisa (with a separate company) and on other days visited Florence, Lucca, Sienna, Volterra and San Gimignano. Highlights also included a winery tour of Chianti and a cooking school conducted at Le Tanelle. The villa, while rustic, had all necessary comforts except Wi-fi. A problem we had when the pool drained half empty overnight was immediately addressed and we were soon able to swim again. The scenery was spectacular and many great photos were taken. We would highly recommend this villa for its peace, serenity and great views as well as local wildlife"

  • Great Flat for a Good Price

"If you need to be in the Marble Arch area, as my mom did, this is the place for you. Nice amenities, just a few minutes walk to the Tube. Lots of stores around for grocery shopping so you don't have to haul your goods around. There were also several choices for car rentals close by so renting in the morning, taking a day trip into the country and returning that evening (why mess with the parking, right?) was easy. Carl and Liz were great to work with and very accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay. We will definitely be giving them a call the next time we're in London."

  • We will be back!

"There is not much to add to the existing reviews...other than our gratitude and just accolades. The apartment was the perfect place for our visit to Seville and Rocio was an extremely attentive and accommodating host....even with a family emergency. We also loved being in a real neighborhood with its local color and non-touristy shops, bars and restaurants. The apartment was very clean and exactly as described and shown. For us the most important points when selecting accommodations are location, space, strong wifi and an in-house laundry is a big plus. This apartment met and exceeded all of our needs and expectations and we do not hesitate recommending it to others. In addition to all the information Rocio provided...the website was helpful. Thank you Rocio and we look forward to our next visit and sharing some tapas."

Cyprus Travel Tips

Visitors to Cyprus Vacation Rentals

Cyprus has a long and detailed history dating back to pre-Biblical times. Many visitors who travel to Cyprus do so because they have a strong interest in ancient history and civilizations. There are many archeological sites and places of interest to visit on the island. The many museums showcase the country's turbulent past. Cyprus is also an ideal destination for those who enjoy exploring the outdoors. One of the most popular ways to get around the island is by bicycle. There are many mapped routes for cyclists who explore the island's natural and cultural sites. Golfers are attracted to the island's three 18-hole golf courses. The warm climate makes Cyprus a popular year-round golfing destination. Sun lovers can choose from the soft sandy beaches of the eastern coast or the pebble beaches that are found on the western and southern coasts.

Attractions near Cyprus Lodging

There are four major cities on the island of Cyprus. The capital Lefkosia is located in the middle of the island. It has an ancient old quarter that is surrounded by a Venetian sandstone wall. This wall was once a protective fortress around the city. The newer and more cosmopolitan parts of the city are beyond the wall. Lefkosia is a wonderful blend of both old and new culture. Lemesos is known for its vibrant nightlife. It is located along the southern coastline and the second largest city on the island. It is also the center of Cyprus' wine industry. Lemesos is probably one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island and there are many resorts and tourist facilities here. Larnaka is located on the southwestern coastline and home to the major international airport. It is a modern city that has a beautiful marina and palm-lined promenade. There are several cultural sites and shrines that hold great importance to both the Christian and Islam religions.

Pafos is located on the western coast and a city known for its magnificent mosaics. It is also where many of the more significant archeological finds have taken place. Just outside of the city you can visit the famous "Tombs of the Kings." These rock-hewn tombs are believed to date back to early Hellenistic and Roman times, making them intriguing to visit.

The Best Cyprus Travel Seasons

Cyprus has a typically Mediterranean climate where summer months are hot and dry and the most rainfall occurs in the cooler, winter months. Summer is typically the peak travel season and temperatures can get very hot. Visitors should have adequate sun protection in the form of sunhats and sunscreen. Because of its mild climate, Cyprus can be visited year-round. The only season when the weather is less pleasant is between December and February when most of the rainfall occurs.

Getting to Cyprus

Cyprus is an island in the Mediterranean, located just south of Turkey and to the west of Syria. The island's international airport is located in Larnaca. The airport hosts regularly scheduled international flights with many major European countries. Most popular routings are to London, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt. The local airline benefits from daytime flights whereas most international carriers land late at night or in the early hours of the morning. During the summer months, there are sometimes ferries that connect Cyprus and the Greek island of Rhodes; however, the schedules are somewhat erratic. There are no scheduled ferry services between Cyprus and Syria or Israel; however, private cruises do sometimes link these destinations in peak travel season.
