  • A true haven - impossible to believe we were in Central London

"We had a wonderful stay in February this year. What should have been an incredibly stressful week of college visits, work and family get-togethers turned out to be the most enjoyable experience, thanks to the comfort and ambience of this marvellous house and the unending kindness of its owners. Our party spanned three generations from 12 to 80 years of age and everyone looked forward to returning home in the evening, my mother to sit and read quietly by the fire, the rest of us (not so quietly) to congregate and exchange stories in the huge kitchen/dining room. Even with six in the house, everyone had their own space and favourite sitting area. The immediate surrounding area is a hidden gem. My husband and I lived in London for many years but have never experienced such a village-like atmosphere - complete with local "pub" around the corner. Yet just streets away is High Street Islington with all its restaurants, shops and transport options. Staying in London will never be the same again!"

  • Great alternative to London hotels

"I am currently relocating to London and chose this flat as an opportunity to experience living like a local in this neighbourhood. The flat was a great alternative to staying in a hotel as it provided all the amenities of home (washer/dryer, wifi, tv, fully equiped kitchen) and all at a great price. The flat was clean and well maintained. As a solo traveller this flat provided more than enough space, however I would not recommend it for anyone with children or for more than 2 people as there are quite a few rare pieces of art and furniture in the flat. The flat is about a 15 minute walk from the tube stop (Latimer Road, Ladbroke Grove or even Wood Lane by the large Westfield Mall). Although it is not a significant walk, it can be quite a hike when returning in the rain or carrying groceries, etc. However, there is a great bus route that passes just at the end of the road that takes you through the heart of Notting Hill and into Oxford Street. There are some local amenities such as a small grocer, butcher and fish and chip shop. I was also informed of a great Thai restaurant around the corner, but unfortunately did not have an opportunity to try it. The larger shops such as Waitrose and Sainsburys are about a 20 minute walk from the flat. There are also some larger parks nearby for walking or running if one is interested. Its a great location if you don't mind a bit of walking. If I wasn't moving to London and getting my own flat, I would stay again! Thanks for the hospitality!"
